@@waimarieheap5608 nahhhhh they definitely siblings. Look at all that sibling energy they have in the game! It’s all classic sibling stuff.
Orin out here acting like she is the competent one yet she couldn’t even kill Barbie correctly if you fail at killing our pink haired durge than your just a failure
Killing Dark Urge was never the point. They were infected with the first tadpole and experimented on to perfect the process, becoming the first True Soul. Orin wanted to ruin him and leave him as another mindless servant. This is in line with her misguided notion that murder should be dramatic and performative. In truth, she could perform the most elaborate murder ritual ever, and Bhaal would be more impressed by Durge stabbing up two random NPCs. Bhaal only cares about raw numbers.
I'd like to imagine that in this case Orin didn't even try to kill the Durge, they just told them to take a vacation or something and let them run the cult for a while, and then the Durge tripped and hit their head on a rock and got their amnesia that way
Honest to God if this was canon nobody would be surprised. The idea that regular durge just fell one day and pulled a Goku is hilarious and completely in-character.
@@bearandthebull2372 Then when you meet the villains they are like, "hey there you are! It's been a while, how was your trip?" And then everyone is confused lol
this is funny because canonically speaking it's the inverse, Durge wrote in his journal that he had no idea what he was going to do with Orin because she can't control herself and focuses on playing with her kills rather than simply getting it over with and moving on to the next
Fr Dark Urge prior to becoming an amnesiac was a highly competent planner and had orchestrated the whole situation to run like clockwork. Orin screwed it up by being too impulsive and power hungry which put the whole plan in jeopardy
Orin being terminally annoyed with her crazy great-aunt (because Orin is the Dark Urge's niece AND grand-niece, but not their sister) never ceases to crack me up.
HOLY SHIT THIS WAS THE BEST BG3 ANIMATION--no. BEST VIDEO ive seen. as someone who has done 5 playthroughs, with 4 being durge, you just... you get it.
Orin says she has self-respect and dignity, despite the fact that when you first see her, she's raving about how she wants to kill Kethtic, and may as well have been on the verge of climaxing at the thought. I'm not saying Durge is much better. They're both fucked. And it seems they both took a poetry class or two from how they speak when they're having psychotic episodes. But, at least Durge could restrain themselves enough to act normal, from how Grotash speaks of them. At least, they could before Orin turned their brain into Swiss cheese.
I always watch those reels imagining that, meanwhile, my cleric of Mystra is using the undaunted power of the SUN to tear through every member of their organisation
"How are we related?" You don't wanna know. I'm not even sure we do know. Biologically I guess Barbie is Orin's grandmother, because the Dark Urge is just a clone of Bhaal? And Orin's mother was a 1st bloodline Bhaalspawn(presumably? Sarevok doesn't have Bhaal in him, so it has to be her mother's side?)
So if I understood it right, Orin is Durge?'s half niece by being sarevok anchev's daughter and half great niece by being also sarevok's grandaughter? and Durge was also the half aunt of helena anchev (sarevok's daughter)???
One thing I'd like to see is who in this version of events came up with the Elder Brain Crown of Karsus plan. It sounds just crazy enough to have come from Barbie but would she know how all that works?
Orin: Welcome to my world, my silly little playingthing. Barbie: omigosh hiiiiii~ Orin: ... Actually nevermind, I'll come back when I see some braincells behind those eyes. This is just wrong Barbie: *who said you can leave? c:*
Tbh I quite love the slightly chonkier design of these characters compared to how we see them in games. I can't tell what it is but it just looks right for a series, if I can call it that, about Durge.
Thanks! 😊 I do think that the in game characters are way too skinny- I wish we could play around with body type instead of just having small skinny person or big buff person as our options

Orin being the “sane” sibling seems so wrong but feels so right.
God, the phrase "Orin is the sane one" made me shiver with dread
@@hfar_in_the_sky As it should.
They’re technically not siblings, Orin just thinks so. Durge is more like their aunty/uncle.

So is Barbie Chaotic Evil too, or is she the world's most murdery-stabby CN?
Neutral Evil, because she's so Chaotic that she'll sometimes be Lawful to keep you on your toes.
Chaotic evil before she got bonked on the head and then chaotic neutral after that 😁
