Also, it refers to the property of the font, not to how it is set. The minimal distance between the baselines, as you physically cannot move them closer together. You can always add spacers between the lines, but you can't make two pieces of metal overlap.

fun fact: in persian calligraphy (nastaliq) the measurement is "dong" (دنگ) which is 1 sixth of a dot (dots are cubical in persian and arabic calligraphy)

Good video but disagree about sans serif being more legible that serif fonts. The vast majority of books, especially novels are serif.
