Nice, simple and very effective explanations regarding the use of virtual libraries articulations. It is a very good starting point for new musicians (that are now starting the musical adventure path).
you are a great teacher, this was incredibly helpful and succinct!
Very informative, thank you. I’m also familiar with guitar, so your comparisons were a bonus.
I only wish you could have demonstrated, in some way, ALL of the articulations you mentioned, so we could have heard them.
Hi thanks for both the tutorial of the violin techniques and also the sample library. It sounds awesome. I wish you had one with the same detail but also for chamber orchestra (including viola, cello, and contrabass in small, medium, and large section settings). That would be the ultimate solo and orchestra string library. :)
Awesome, glad you enjoyed it. And a great idea, I'll have to look into doing an orchestral techniques breakdown some time soon.
Hi Stephen, thanks for all your very useful clear and informative videos. This library sounds fantastic, would this library be good to use along side the free BBCSO library which is very limited in its articulations, or is there a library out there that gives you great expression without spending a fortune? You may have touched on this already on another video, and if you have please accept my apologies. Being a beginner in using orch libraries it’s a bit of a minefield where to go next? 😊
Hey, thanks! I'm glad you liked it. In terms of the best free library, I think BBCSO is one of the best out there I'm afraid. The free libraries tend to have a smaller number of articulations on offer as companies seem to use access to articulations as one of the main siren call to purchase their libraries.
