I love this camera, got one a few years ago and gave it to a street photographer friend of mine, and after that, I got two more sealed in their boxes from France. But surprise! the batteries were dead, so I've got a couple of cells that should work but I haven't had the time to open them up. I must confess that I love small cameras I've had RX100, ZS200, GM-5, GF-7, Nex-5, A5100, but the punch that the DXO One does puts it in a league of its own.

For a few trips, I was using a tiny camcorder as a camera because I could pull it out, take a photo (overhead mostly), and put in away in 3 second (longer is I had to zoom in 20x). Sometimes, speed matters.

I went through 2 HTC Re Cameras between 2016 and 2020. I just found one again, sealed, for $40 ebay. I enjoy it for similar reasons to why you enjoy this. The Re has no viewfinder at all. I just keep it in its ultra wide angle setting all the time and take it with me when I'm out. It's fun for street photography because people have no idea it's even a camera if they see it in my hand at all. I'll be on the lookout for a cheap DXO one now, too.

You really are on a mission to use the smallest camera possible - you'll be looking into medical cameras next 😄
Jokes aside, great video, and a fantastic showcase of the ingenuity at DxO. I use Photolab as my main editor, DeepPrime is a lifesaver for M43 photography. It definitely would be nice if M43 cameras could incorporate a similar Super Raw type function - it's a sort of technological cousin to the Hi-Res modes they already have... will put that on the wishlist for the Panasonic G9 II!
Saw these DxO Ones available for online delivery for £60-70 at CEX this evening - but restrained myself from purchasing, as I'm in need of a Pana-Leica 50-200 in the near future...
    Cheers

Excellent... It is easy to find an almost mint condition one for 50 euros but unfortunately, the battery inside is usually dead and is a pain to change (find the correct reference for the replacement + soldering without electrically damaging the sensor and other chips inside is challenging).

I also bought this cheap and used a few months ago. It has great IQ but I miss IBIS. Spoiled as I am from only shooting Olympus the last ten years I guess. I am a great fan of DXO since I bought photo lab two years ago. Love shooting low light and the AI noise reduction from DXO is a real game changer. My ISO 15000 images look as if they had been shot with ISO 200. It simply removes all the noise without reducing or messing up any details or colours. Besides that, PL is also great for culling, editing and correcting the images. I use it as my all in one post production solution.

You made me buy one with a working battery and I always carry it around now, it’s hard to use especially since it’s stuck in full auto without an iPhone (it won’t work in USB with an adapter, the FAQ page on DxO’s website is archived but it does mention that the iOS and Android versions aren’t usable on other devices) but it’s fun, takes good pictures when it can and for 40€ it is cheaper than 2 disposable cameras (and it came with a memory card and a DxO branded laptop bag for some odd reason and it’s a really good laptop bag), if I get more than 10 good pictures out of it it’s worth the price to me.

Late late response here... but! The little screen is touch sensitive, so you can switch between AUTO, Pre-set and Video when its NOT attached to the iphone! Set up the pre-sets you want (aperture priority, shutter priority etc etc) when attached to the iphone and the camera will remember those settings when detached. Then simply swipe the display screen between AUTO, Pre-set and Video.

I actually prefer taking regular RAW on the DxO One! Super Raw really slows down the shooting speed(buffer fills in like 3 shots), and drains the battery. With Photolab 6 / PureRAW 3, the DeepPrime and DeepPrime XD do a great job at noise reduction with 1 single raw image. Also, I didn't even know the time lapse feature existed! Thank you for pointing it out, will give it a try sometimes.

You can do this with most Mirrorless cameras and DSLR camera. I saw a old TH-cam video about a street photographer that uses a Canon DSLR and he does not even use the viewfinder. I think he said by the time he gets his eye up to the viewfinder the moment is already gone.
The trick is to learn that lens really good. Use the back LCD screen and move the camera around so you know how the agles work.
I believe most of my M43 cameras I can turn off the viewfinder and LCD screen.
I've also heard of some wedding photographers that never looked at the viewfinder. This was back in the old Hasselblad film days when you had to look down onto the screen and the image was flipped.

You can't care about RAW or sensor size. With Gopro colors, resolution choices and angle selector, you'll have fun with that too. You also will never run out of batteries, or memory space, as you can replace them both.

Exactly what I’ve done! To be fair I’ve noticed some cheaper and as soon as they’re below 200 I’m clicking to buy! By the way - just stumbled across your channel and your presenting style is brilliant! Subbed straight away!

The camera does not have a flash. If it's connected to a phone with a flash, it can use the phone's flash or constant light.

Very interesting! And from DxO as well? Such a shame they stopped making hardware... although I didn't know they started until now, haha. How do you focus this thing though?
That Super 🦸‍♂ RAW feature though , that's probably juts a high res mode without the high res part.
