    Great video but a word of caution based on my own experience. At 85000 miles my 2008 Mondeo 2.2tdci broke down because of similar wear in the keyway on the bottom pulley - it had slipped on the crankshaft far enough to throw the timing out of range. (with a worn keyway you're relying on the friction between the faces of the pulley and the crankshaft once tightened to prevent any slippage) I fitted a new bottom pulley and key at the same time as the timing belt kit.

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its done in 2 stages mate..
      1st torque it to 70NM with a torque wrench then youll need to use an angle gauge to turn it 62 degrees .. ill attach a Link to one .. ebay.us/X8ugoB

      @@diydaly Thanks man, just done my first timing belt (and water pump) change. It's not that hard but your video helped at lot so thanks for that. The biggest PITA is access...
      I didn't buy a torque wrench in the end - with such poor access I doubt it I'd be able to use it anyway andI just whacked the crankshaft pulley with an electric impact wrench...
      I'm thinking about changing the timing/camshafts chain in the near future as it's a bit loud..? Or is it normal to hear the chain when you open the bonnet and stand close to the engine?

    Hello could u plz guide me: is Ford galaxy 2013 2 litre diesel Powershift is interference or non-interference engine?
    As I was driving down at around 20mph and my galaxy gently came to a halt. Upon inspection we found that timing belt was not in a place although it was still there.
    It looks like water pump failed and it drag the timing belt from its place.
    As I lost around a litre of coolent twice in the last few days and I was getting some squeaking noise as well from engine bay. Anyway now water is full in the coolent tank but it has got dirty, I don't know why.
    So if I put new timing belt and water pump, will it be OK?

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi faisal thanks for your comments.. I’m afraid it is an interference engine.. although you may be lucky if it has only jumped a few teeth you may not have done any damage to the valves etc.. I’m afraid the only way your going to be able to tell though is by timing it up correctly and fitting a new belt and pump .. it’s 50/50 really but If I was to give you my best guess I’d say it will have damaged the valves 😬
