    Here is my experience with going on anxiety medication and what led up to me going on medication. A lot of people are on anxiety medication or medication for depression and I hope that more people start talking about this so it can become more normal and accepted. Sertraline has changed my life for the better and I have not really had any side affects. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video :)

    My anxiety and panic attacks started happening at work. To the point I didn't want to go to work anymore. People would tell me just don't think about but I wish they would understand it doesn't work like that.

      Bandido, There is a solution to every problem if there is a desire and determination. . For a relaxed life without anxiety and depression sit on a chair, back and spine erect, hands on your lap with palms upwards, close your eyes and do nothing. Be still without moving and observe your inhalation-exhalation breathing and body sensations for around 10-15 minutes. What is important is to be as still as possible. Plenty of thoughts will come but slowly negative thoughts will reduce or vanish slowly. The mind is reprogrammed to develop your mental muscles. Do twice daily or as per your convenience. This could be life-transforming if you desire change. Take charge of your life. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

    I lived 24 years with panic attacks, stopped playing sports and lost jobs. I thought this was normal. I thought this was life. And as a Christian, I always ran away from medication. However, one day I woke up feeling impending doom if I continued this way. I never would self harm but I felt I would do something stupid out of desperation to over come the pain. I went to the hospital. I’m on my 3rd day of anti dependents and panic attack meds. I thank God and know he is the ultimate healer and meds are just tools. I’m so happy I don’t have to suffer on my own.

    I remember being anxious and having panic attacks when I was in preschool … all throughout my school years, kids would bully me because I was always anxious, overly hyper and just weird. High school was the worst part of my life. I knew I was different from other people, but I didn’t understand why. I remember my heart beating fast, sweating, hot flashes, not being able to look people in the eyes, and it was so difficult to make friends. When I was around 25, I started to really wonder what it was that I was feeling, and after doing research I realized I had symptoms of anxiety. I don’t remember not ever having anxiety …it has been with me all my life. I have no friends at all. Making friendships is probably one of the hardest things. I’m 33, and finally considering meds.

    • @cowboyjohnsontown
      @cowboyjohnsontown 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ItsIndiraChannel that's understandable. I've been on an SSRI for 23 years bc I felt good enough on it and so I didnt want to mess with anything. Eventually my system got used to the dosage I was on and so my doctor doubled my dose. That caused a lot of adverse reactions (mania/suicidal ideation). After a couple of years of chasing symptoms, I finally realized it was the SSRI that was causing me so much harm. I finally realized that after so many years, the meds had blunted me emotionally and I had no connection to myself. The meds also blocked me from truly accessing the source of my issues/hurt. I'm now 8 months into tapering and it's my most successful taper yet. It was tough at first but mainly bc I had to educate myself around tapering.
      If you ever need help getting off, I recommend Will Hall's "Harm Reduction Guide." It can be difficult to get off of SSRIs but it is possible!

    For the past 8 years, I have been grappling with anxiety and panic attacks, particularly while driving, despite having no previous driving-related issues. I was unable to drive on highways and limited to side roads. However, about 1 and a half months ago, my doctor prescribed sertraline. Since starting the medication, my anxiety and panic attacks have decreased by approximately 30-40%, and I can now drive on highways for about 5-10 minutes. Though it may take some time to fully regain my confidence, I am optimistic that the progress will continue, leading to a full recovery.

    I’ve been struggling with anxiety my entire life and didnt even realize it. I thought it was just a normal part of life. But now, being 22, anxiety has led to constant panic attacks with no known conscious reason(s), which has made me realize that there has been something wrong the entire time. My dad has severe anxiety and panic attacks and gave me Xanax for when it’s needed. I took some one day and I was mostly calm for that entire day, which made me realize that I have anxiety and panic disorder. Getting through every day feeling normal is near impossible it feels. Regular every day tasks are extremely difficult. Im considering going on medication for it this week to get my life back. I understand the side effects, and the fact that I will probably be on the meds for the rest of my life, and im OK with that if that’s what it takes for me to feel normal again, and have my life back. Thank you for sharing this video.

    I’m very late to this video, but I’m just hoping someone will find this and could maybe reply. I’ve had anxiety since the beginning of highschool and now I’m 20 years old and 2 years into college, but Covid and quarantine really derailed me. I was isolated and my anxiety just only got worse. Now it’s to the point where I hardly leave the house, and I’m anxious to the point of nausea; where I vomit almost every day and it’s honestly ruining my life. It’s taking away opportunities and just not allowing me to even enjoy leisurely activities. I just need to hear from people that this medication helps and is safe.

    Hi have had epilepsy attack once in my life when i was about 23 yrs. I took anti epileptic medicines for about 7 years and stopped. Then i started to experience the tremors and the panic attacks and consulted a psychiatrist. I was given medication for anxiety for 1.5 years. I was completely fine during medication. Once I stopped medicines, then i got panic attacks again. My doctor says that undergoing anxiety medication again is really not good as it will have serious side effects on the mental health at later part of your life. Now he has taught me some relaxation techniques that is kind of subsiding my anxiety. But it will not take you out of panic attacks completely. But will help to deal with it. I recommend too much medication is not good in long run!

    Though he said he drank a lot of coffee so all that caffeine mixed with sertraline is what did it to him? 🤷‍♂️
    Ive got 3 different meds sitting there but will attempt to get myself together without meds for now. Of no improvement then will probably take either sertraline or venlafaxine.

    Like you I been an anxiety sufferer for many many years, I had some panic attacks in the past that truly scarred me and made me a social recluse, but, I also hated the idea of being medicated and taking medicines for something I felt I could work out on my own, I have used Xanax, Propranolol on and off, during my last episodes of anxiety I seen a psychiatrist who prescribed Zoloft, and again I am hesitant although I have been taking it and it helps, I hope that I can find a way to be meds free and control my anxiety but if I can't then I will not be abusive to myself and will continue taking the medications as prescribed, the kindest words I heard from my doctor was "Is not your fault", sometimes we can struggle and deny we need the meds, but also sometimes is in our genes, and is not our fault.

I’m curious how many milligrams are you taking? I don’t know what to do I gain weight from it and so I don’t want to take more but I’m wondering if I should go up to 75 but again I know that it doesn’t fix everything like I am have a lot of trauma from the pandemic I may lose my apartment I am still looking for work I was a victim of unemployment fraud I mean I can go on and on and on so I’m wondering if it’s just not working because the doctor said that you have such an intense amount of trauma going on and fear and stress I don’t think any medication can really work 100% right now. But what the hell are we supposed to do if you suffer extremely 24/7 with severe mental illnesses and trauma and have tried everything but don’t get better + you have a wierd sleeping disorder.. I can’t bare the thought of becoming impotent(and I already suffer with my sexuality and sex ability), emotionally numb/like a robot and sleeping issue/suffering gets worse? What can I do, I don’t want to go back to Prozac but my severe 24/7 mental illnesses is killing me. And nothing is working.. I don’t thing science have come up with a solution other than these “meds”..

I don’t think modern medicine have found a cure, not a damn thing helps.. + I have a wierd sleeping disorder.

      Psychedelics are the reason why i didn't take my life when i was at my end . I was stripped of my ego and saw the beauty of life and interconnectivity and even though i still battle anxiety and depression , I'm doing better everyday and will never think in such a self destructive way again .

      LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life . I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body . A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken . One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot . It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine , this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip : Everything is alright . The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me ( although it's not gone ) . Before all I could do was lay in bed . Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before . "
