Nick Marshall was a hell of an athlete! That 2013 season was fun considering that team was expected to have a losing year and they almost won it all. The 2014 team just wasn't the same without Tre Mason in the backfield though.
The offense was arguably better if I remember correctly Nick Marshal and Cameron Artis Payne WENT OFF Payne had the 3rd best rushing season for an auburn running back in history and Marshal threw for 4508 yds and ran for another 800 the issue was there was absolutely no defense to speak of if they had had any of the Steele defenses they wouldn’t have had a game within 20 pts and would have rolled through the playoffs without breaking a sweat it makes me scared to think how good that team could have been with the 2019 D probably would have shutout 4 or 5 games

He was really good deep ball thrower but he had some passing issues he was a great running Qb and one of best Qb we every had. But him and that defense lost us the natty if he could’ve passed little better we had it but that INT in the 4th killed us
Completely disagree. Nick Saban even said this while commentating on live TV at the game, that Auburn actually ran the ball on our last drive so well, we actually scored too fast. Had we just slowed and sat on the ball a little on that last drive, Saban said he felt like the outcome would have been different. But i never blamed Nick or our defense. FSU just played well and made more plays in a well played game by both teams.
Joke. Malzahn blew the Natty when we stopped running we had the game won at the half . We sat on it and went conservative classic Doofus ... Prevent defense lost the game on the last drive despite Doofus screwing up the offense...he then screwed up the D that was bringing the house against Winston..Doofus blew the Natty, not Nick Marshall.

@@holdentudix7505 The 2014 Auburn defense collapsed midseason and never recovered. 2014 would have been another 10-win season with a solid defense.
