I still remember where I was at and what I was doing at exactly the moment Chris Davis took it to the house. Working as a server at a Mexican restaurant in Montgomery, AL and the entire restaurant and crew of employees had stopped everything to watch that play. The entire restaurant went NUTS when Davis crossed the goal line. It even took a few seconds for it to sink in and for everyone to realize what had just happened. It was the most magical sports moment in my entire life.
There’s several reasons this is perhaps the greatest football game of all time: 1)The Atmosphere: 3:30p.m. on CBS in November at Jordan Hare Stadium (one of the most electric and intimidating environments in all of college football) 2)The Stakes: With Alabama coming into the game undefeated and Auburn only having one loss, whoever won was heading to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game (the biggest stage for the best conference in CFB) 3)The History: The Iron Bowl was already one of the greatest, most storied rivalries in college football, even before this game kicked off 4)The Context: Auburn was coming off one of the worst seasons of program history in 2012 while Alabama was looking to possibly return to, and win, the national title for the 3rd year straight (at the time, they were calling this game “Destiny vs Dynasty”). Also, two weeks prior, Auburn won against Georgia by the skin of their teeth on a last minute, tipped ball Hail Mary attempt now called ‘The Miracle at Jordan Hare’. 5)The Plays: This was a thrilling, back-and-forth game from start to finish including 4th down stops, special teams dramatics, big runs, clutch throws, crushing hits, and, of course, one of the most memorable moments in CFB and sports history, the Kick Six. All in all, this is still my favorite game of any sport I’ve ever watched, and I’m thankful I got to be tailgating outside the stadium to experience its full glory firsthand. War Eagle! 🦅
I was at this game and I was watching the ending on a TV outside the stadium and before we saw the field goal attempt I looked at my buddy I was there with bc we both heard the stadium going nuts and didn’t know what was going on for a few seconds bc the tv broadcast was on a tape delay
Perhaps the greatest moment in the greatest game for the Auburn Tigers ever. I could not sit still this entire game. Both tesms played balls to the wall the whole way. Thats the way most Iron Bowls go.
As someone who’s been to an auburn game it’s crazy when we’re playing a nobody like vandy. But to see a game like that. The second he turned the sideline and didn’t step out the crowd absolutely exploded.
Still will never understand why Sagan decided to kick it from that far out after all the kicking problems they had all game. Then with a brand new Kicker at that. Still makes no sense.
If I was saban, seeing him run down the sideline after I tried so hard to get that one second out back on the clock, I couldn’t do nothing but laugh. Like damn the luck.
Hoping for Penn State Ohio State 2016 Victors!!! Only the 4th PSU game I attended as a student my freshman year. We were 4-2, had scraped by Minnesota, lost to Pitt, and gotten blown out at the Big House in the weeks prior. While the game itself may have been a bit dull, there were some remarkable plays in that game that you'd never see coming. Thanks for this awesome content!
That was just a great day of football. You had that back and forth Ohio State Michigan game that had all the fights and the missed two point conversion at the end. Then you had this game! Geez!
Imagine being in the crowd for this game!!!! When I was 12, my little league team was 1 game away from being in the Little league World Series. We came back from 7-2 to take an 8-7 lead. I was pitching lights out. In the last inning I walked the first batter, then struck out the next two batters in like 7 or 8 pitches.... I was in my bag. I had the last guy 0-2 and tried to blow one by him. Only for him to hit the longest shot in 12 year old history!! I imagine the devastation BAMA felt here was something similiar
Seems like every time Auburn is in the National Championship picture, various forms of lucky breaks go in their favor (2010 and 2013) throughout the season LoFnL
We struck back on the barners with a vengeance to ease the pain from that heartbreaking loss.24-22 Roll Tide. Our slogan over Auburn entitled " Disaster in the Pasture".
What really stings is that this game shouldn’t have even been close. We should’ve been up at least 34-21 if our field goal team wasn’t bad, and we shouldn’t have gave up that last td by Auburn. That was a horrible td
Is anyone gonna talk about how Verne lundquist is one of the worst commentators of all time and he called that like how Al Michaels calls Thursday night games these days?
Alabama had by far the most talented roster in the country, and we get the ball inside the 30 like 4 times where we score 0 points because we have a middle school kicker. This legendary finish should never have happened lol

Greatest college game I’ve ever watched imo
I can agree with this
Fax bro I watched this with my family who all went to auburn it was crazy
I just watched this for the first time and the hairs on my back stood up literally when auburn returned the field goal
Same
Best regular season game. The Texas-USC Rose Bowl is the only one that surpasses this in my mind

Nick Marshall was a miniature Cam Newton.. Nick was a Beast for sure
So blessed to have been to this game with my brother. Greatest college football memory ever! And I was at the Cam-back in Tuscaloosa in 2010
This game as a Bama fan broke my heart. Still an amazing game tho and an absolute classic 💯🔥. Love this series VictorsValiant
I still remember screaming after that game. I was so happy.

The chills the game gives you is crazy
Announcer: “Cody Parkey, leads the country in touch backs”
Well that aged well...
Don’t fucking remind me
@Kareem Ramon convenient u both joined 2 weeks ago
He now leads the country in doinks. Thank you very much.
I think this game gave him PTSD lmao
Still the greatest play in sports history and it capped the greatest football game of all time.
This is one of the best series I've watched. Thank you!
This was a kick ass game! 🔥

Nick Marshall was such a beast🔥
They haven’t had someone as good as him in a while
I still remember this like yesterday i had to go to work and thought OT will be played and next moment Auburn won
Remember it’s not how you start but how you finish 🔥🔥
Damn that kicker had a rough night lol
his form is so crack
One of the most memorable regular season FBS games of all time
This was the iron bowl ever and the best one yet 👍
That was the longest one second ever!!!!! Lol they didn’t want Bama to go in overtime with Auburn and looked what happened.
This game was AWESOME the kickers totally sold 😂
This game was an awesome .game👍
The kick 6 is the exact reason why I became in Auburn Tigers fan

Something special about having the last name Davis. 🤷🏿♂️

That 1 next to Alabama's name is there so often that it's going to be a part of the school name soon.
We will see now that Saban is gone if they can keep it up.

As much as I hate Bama that's a crazy way to lose a game but with all the kicking issues they had that game it's the perfect ending
This was come back game ever 👍
did anyone just see that guy slip that was running onn the sideline lol 12:45

Greatest cfb of all time
You got that right👍👍
Bryce young had the best iron bowl but this is still one of the Best classic and cam did to but im bama all day

Refs did all they could to give Bama a chance as usual
Alabama has always had a crappy kicker
so has ohio state 😔
This game set the tone for the next 10 seasons of iron bowls lol
The 3 most clutch kickers played in this game Cade Foster Adam Griffith and Cody Parkey
Lol and all of their nightmares came true
How is this game over 10 years old already!?
Was the Alabama vs Georgia game I just watched in week 4 of the 2024 season better than this game? Idk
Can do 2015 Ohio state vs Michigan state highlights
I did the 2016 game but the 2015 game wasn't a game of the decade it was just a blowout

I Wonder What Happened 2 Nick Marshall
He played for Jacksonville jaguars as a CB for a couple years.
Alabama was 0-4 on field goals. It is ridiculous.
Not anymore
That alabama kicker smh
4 SPUAT FGs netted 6 points for Auburn 😱
Wow!!
Bama finally was on the winning side of a crazy game at Jordan Hare Stadium in 2021 in the 4 OT thriller.
If anyone ever says special teams don’t matter show em this game
The best thing Alabama should've done was snap the ball and take a knee and send the game into overtime, so sorry for your loss 😂😂😂
