Tre Mason was just unstoppable that day. The invitation to NY was well deserved, and he did everything in his power to win the BCSNCG, too. One of my favorite Chizik/Malzahn era players.
Yes. Malzahn's O was very effective at gouging teams on the ground at times. Still not sure of the point you're making tho. I mean Tuberville guys made the list 5x. Brown, Irons, Rudy, and Cadillac 2x.
@@lawrencerobinson2350 I think it's a combination of factors. When Gus had an elite RB and elite OL talent, that run game was really hard to stop. But all of those pieces had to be in place or else it just wasn't nearly as effective. And for some reason the guy just couldn't develop the players on offense. I'm still not sure Harsin is the answer going forward, but I think a change was needed.
Looking back during Tubs tenure we had some great backs I think Rudi Johnson gets overlooked because he was only there 1 year. Had he stayed one more year how many yards would’ve he rushed for but on the other hand would we have got Cadillac and would Ronnie Brown stayed since he was redshirted in 2000

Mason was a guarantee 3.5-4+ yards a carry at the least.
Soooo out of all these performances Gus Malzahn was responsible for about 4 of these. Kerryon, Pettway, Cameron Artis Payne, and Tre Mason…

Both Cadillac and Ronnie brown could’ve been heisman winners if they weren’t sharing touches with each other
