My favourite series ever. I’ve made three pilgrimages to New Orleans so far because of it and I dream of living there. Was there in March just as everything shut down and I’m determined to go back as soon as I can. Sadly they no longer sell the FYYFF tshirts. Lol
In retrospect, as we look back (hubby lived in NOLA for over thirty years and came here to NY, where we met after Katrina)...we agree, that the Creighton Bernette character, was in fact...the most fragile of all. Each character had his or her own issues to deal with - but Creighton came to a point where..it was..all just too much. An amazing performance by an amazing actor...
awesome! thanks for posting, Treme is gaining momentum. I didn't like at first, but Simon is succeeding in getting me as emotionally connected to these characters as I was to the ones on The Wire
FYYFF! The new catch phrase of the 21st Century. So many times in recent days, I've expressed my feelings about health insurance, the world-wide recession, corporate greed, BP... all with that simple, five word phrase. Thank you, writers of Treme, John Goodman, and the real people of New Orleans, for precisely hitting the mark.
Hey, I'm from Houston. I love Treme. Houston has culture- check out the Montrose area. We've also got a gay mayor. Hooray! We also have a history of zydeco music from displaced creoles. Houston actually had a "French Town" back in the day. Check out the book Texas Zydeco...
Even though he moved to New Orleans after Roseanne, hes still a good St. Louisan, for two reasons 1 he dissed Chicago 2 he left our tiny city out of his rant.
And that's why I love John Goodman.

Me too! We even went to locations featured in the show and found local places to eat where the locals actually eat.
Awesome!! Loved Treme from the first episode.
