I came here trying to figure out if i can hear desktop audio through the interface. Out of all of the videos I F***ing watched yours was the only one that gave me the answer regarding direct monitoring. I was stressing about my order not being what I needed but Thank God for your review now I know!

I have a question,
So, I want to use this for twitch streaming and I use the OBS. But regardless of that, I want to hear the game (my computer audio) and my own voice in the headphones. Now if I connect my headphones and turn on the direct monitor button, will I be able to hear both from the headphones?
@@MemerDad Yes, if you have direct monitoring on you are able to hear both. The way you hear yourself doesn’t affect your computer audio or OBS setting, you only hear it on your end. I hope that answers your question.
@@OGCandyJack Thanks for your reply. I tried and managed to do so but for some reasons, it stopped working and now I can't hear both at the same time. it's either of them at once
@@MemerDad I don’t have the setup anymore but I recall there being a button on it. Are you using a software on top of your audio interface

I use the U-PHORIA UM2 interface works pretty good, no need to spend hundreds on an interface when mine sounds great. you can also buy the portable Interface, The Irig pre which is the same price however if you buy that for android use the Recforge II app it's default app is annoying. Great review, mine don't give any noise. And I have both the U-PHORIA UM2 and Irig pre.

I'd suggest springing for the 202HD or the 204HD. They usually cost $50-$70 but it's worth the extra money (though I'm sure this is more than enough for voiceover, I just really wanted the 24/192 in case somebody requests that quality of recording). The 202HD only has stereo monitoring though and no MIDI ports.
Behringer's MIDAS preamp interfaces are solid. They're really portable, well built, supply a good amount of gain and can drive headphones pretty loud, and as you pointed out the preamp is really clean for the price. It is the UM2 you're thinking about that's kind of noisy because it has the Xenyx preamp like the mixers.
My only real complaint about these interfaces is that the headphone amp is a bit noisy, especially when you're not doing direct monitoring. Not an issue if you're listening to music or watching something but it can be a bit of a pain while recording. But for what it's worth I think they compare favorably with Steinberg interfaces especially considering they're like a quarter of the price.
Great review thanks Tim, I started with this and an at2020 xlr. Made enough to upgrade to the focusrite and at2035 then to the sennheiser mx4. Just bought an apollo duo usb. Should arrive in the next cpl of days so excited lol

Does this Interface have good headroom and max level input? For loud vocals and instruments?
Well I would say that my Yamaha mixer has more room to play with as far as levels. I haven't had an issue with this interface as of yet, but I would say that it may have issues being yelled into.
Hi, i bought a neewer nw800 with phantom power but when i connect it to my iMac with the 3,5mm try jack it won't show up. If i buy this interface will i be able to use the mic?

Can this interface be used to drive a 250 Ohm headphones? More specifically, beyerdynamic's DT770.
Gabriela Garcez I would say no. I think I have an 80 ohm DT770 and it’s kind of quiet. I would say you would need a headphone amp.

Now I know I'm a bit late. However I'm new to the audio game. I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD58X, and I have an audio technica at2020 mic. This should be able to handle both of those correct?

I am buying it right now just as DAC from my computer... I have ATH-M50x and my motherboard x470 Aorus ultra gaming cannot handle high impedance headphones

Hi brother, you were saying something about your dt 770 pro, sooo can you power them with this interface without any problems, thanks a lot.
You can but they need twice as much power/gain as most other headphones. So they work but they might be quiet.
My Xenyx 1202 died, and yes they are so shit, (don't go anywhere near these). Just ordered the umc22, I'll see how this goes.

Hey i wanted to know that will a dynamic mic work properly on the second input which is the instrument input?
It will work to my knowledge but it will sound better through XLR. Even if it's just a dynamic.

basem shenouda what behringer? Mixer? I don’t have a behringer mixer nor am I plugging this into anything other than the PC usb port.

Hi! I just got my order. I'm a beginner in these things and I wanted to ask how I can enable direct monitoring? I can't hear any audio from my laptop unless I unplug the audio interface and I really have no idea what to do. Please help :)
Okay so you are looking to enable the interface as your audio device, not monitoring. That’s something else.
Go into your pc settings and look for audio devices. Make sure this one is set up as primary input and output.
Hey my umc22 works fine but I can only hear audio in my left side of my headphones no matter what headphones i use even when I record mono guitar through cubase audio is only on the left side any help?
What 3.5mm connector are you using?

I don't thing an iPad could power this device.

Ioannis Kaisarlis it only gets power through the usb. I tried finding some way of using it with my iPad and I can’t think of any way it would work affectively.
Just a question how hard is the process within windows setting it up
Like setting it as default device etc for playing games making sure it's all working because I'm getting a whole new mic and maybe you could help me because I have alot of trouble with it

Hello, if anyone of you is able to tell me how to connect this device without a PC. What DC power supply? Normal cell charger plus usb cable does not work.

Liked your video. I would mostly be doing my purchase today for this from Amazon.in. Have a question for you since you have tried it yourself. Does it come with some free softwares and if yes, which all does it include? Many thanks in advance from Pune city, India. And by the way, my DAW license is Ableton Intro version (paid standalone subscription)
Unfortunately it doesn't come with any software. However you can just download Audacity. But only get versions that are bellow 3.0 right now. There is some goofiness' going on with the latest version.
