For anyone on a really tight budget that can't quite splerg for the SM57, which I would recommend. I would suggest the Pyle PD78. They are styled just like a SM57 but only cost between $15-20. The voicing of this mic is slightly brighter than the 57, but not as crisp. However it does a great job for the money and the brighter voice can be an asset in some applications such as mic'ing darker or low end heavy guitars. We bought a few for our church plant just to try and our acoustic player actually prefers the voice of the PD78 for his mix. Maybe you should check it out Jake!

What if we don't have a fancy mix console like the one you're talking about? It's an older PA system and doesn't have any "mix bus line outs." Is there still a way to plug the usb/audio interface into an older (10-15 year old) very basic PA system? We're in a very simple, older church building and we do a very simple, basic liturgy with organ / piano and choir. We didn't live stream before COVID-19, and the only reason we ever use the microphones we do have is for the elderly members of the congregation to hear us speak better. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I hate my focusrite, haven't been able to record yet. When I download focusrite driver the clock locked, it only record on left side no matter what I try, and I can't change it to one channel because it's grayed out. Can someone please help me to find something simple.
How do I switch between line and mic on the first input? You wouldn't want to plug a mixer with preamps into another mic preamp, that'd be amplifying the signal twice.

As always, I love your content. I haven't tried the Behringer (even though I think we default to their equipment for the most bang for the buck), but I use the m-audio m-track at home, and the Scarlett Solo at church for announcement voice overs. Both are fantastic recording interfaces, and I can't tell the difference between them, audio-wise. Honestly, for simple voice recordings, your environment matters more than your rig.

no, you need something that can take advantage of it! You definitely need a laptop/pc to use and interface! you might wanna get a "digital recorder/mobile " with an either an integrated mic or an microphone port XLR. I hope this was helpful

Great stuff! Hey were you recording guitar and vocals on separate tracks at the same time (multitrack recording)? Is this um2 able to record a mic and a guitar line at the same time onto two tracks?
If you have the Behringer X32 you can multitrack record to a laptop plugged into a mixer with a USB cable. Super easy. You can record to Ableton, Logic, Protools, or any other multitrack daw. This interface allows you to only record to two channels. A quick and easy way to capture your worship mix would be to create a mixbus out on your X32 where you have a separate mixdown of your tracks for livestreaming/recording. But that would only record into one track on your DAW vs using the X32 itself as the multitrack recorder.
@Jake Gosselin, more info on the X32 audio interface would be awesome. If you know of any good resources to learn more about it I would appreciate the share. I'm wondering if it can not only be used for recording purposes but in a live mutlitrack playback setting as well.
Joshua Taliaferro If your X32 has the X-UF card installed (most churches ordered this setup), all you need to do is hook a USB cable into a computer that has ableton, audition, or pro tools (sorry you said cheap and easy... Forget pro tools). You'll need to insert up to 32 tracks and set each one to a specific input from your sound board. There is way to much detail to do a step by step here. Hey Churchfront with Jake Gosselin this sound like a pretty good video idea that you haven't done yet. Or if you don't have the time, I can try to put one together on it... But in short... Other options: Behringer released the X-Live interface card a few months back that lets you record each channel on your board onto SD cards... Simple and only $199.

technically yes! you can use the monitoroutput from the dac and link it to anothers dacs input. you could use: cinch to xlr or cinch to line 6.3 hope I could help^^

well, you can! but, the signal wont fully come through, the mediaplayer wont deliver enough power to fully push the signal. it will sound a bit muffled and lack frequencies!(sometimes no bass at all, or no mids, or really weak trebles I hope it helps!
