@@animalmango6499 I dont know about warcans but what some people do is they go through the map slowly the first couple times and learn the corners then theyll pick up the speed
Love it - I was a Sega kid, so this hits me right in the nostalgia. Would love to see this theme repeated, I think there's a lot of scope for that with this theme without people repeating themselves.
This track was great, but I was so confused on how I was so much slower. I'm guessing all the timesave was jn the vertical section which gives you more momentum all the way to the finish. Nice time though!
A theme suggestion: A Choose your own adventure track/open world track What I’m thinking of is a track where you have to get to the other side of an area and back or collect randomly scattered checkpoints using various different paths and where most of the time save is finding which is the fastest way to go. It would probably be better to find a better phrasing for that and possibly with more room for different interpretations.
This reminds me more of the 16/32 Sonic 3D Genesis and Saturn game's first level. It even had the issue of 3D mapping 2D textures like you. Except, I think you put more time into this track than most devs since have had for a Sonic game.
As a 90s kid who grew up with a Mega Drive/Genesis this track really spoke to me. Great job, kAN, it really looks like Green Hill or Emerald Hill Zone!
@kAN Gaming You had to go wide to inside to wide at that 180 turn. Every time you did that you kept a lot of speed. But the last few tries you kept staying inside trying to take a sharp turn. Ending up hitting the outside wall and lost half a second or more.
"You said there wasn't any... any bad things in this one 🥺 It came outta nowhere. YOU LIED TO ME!" I can feel the sense of betrayal. Don't think I could possibly pick a favorite this time around but I absolutely love this theme. I was a NES/SNES kid too, but a buddy across the street had a Genesis and Game Gear so I got a taste of Sonic on original hardware before finding emulation later on.
Nice one! Fun seeing another person make a Sonic track. Having the track go back to the start is a nice touch, creates the feeling of there being different routes. I also went with green planks as a ground for the most part due to traction issues.
Love the speed here. Such flow! The photomode view of this track is cool and made me think of a new theme for y’all: Ant Farm! Layout tracks so they fit in rectangular view.. or like a block of Swiss cheese w highways running thru..
Another great track, all of them triggered a trip down memory lane this theme session! As pure tracks go, all were somewhat easy but still had that excitement built in so I can't choose on track build alone. So I added in the nostalgia and my gut feelings as consideration points. With those benchmarks the tracks goes from a dead heat in my books to Mario Cart 1st, Midnight Racer 2nd and Sonic 3rd, sorry kAN. It was an impressive effort but my personal experience with the 3 games landed you in last this time kAN.
I think kosmo hurt his track with the cats. I like these minimal RNG tracks cause it leaves it more to skill. With only 10 minutes to compete you need luck on your side more than skill to put down a good time with RNG All great tracks but i would have to say Dapper Kan Kosmo.
@@swskitso I see your points, but in Kosmo's track I'd say that the cats was to recreate the RNG of the other's items of the original game. I believe that Kosmo said something of that effect, but it could be argued that he overdid it.
Started with an NES, had no clue what Zelda 2: The adventure of link was about, but loved it anyway. Then got the Sega Genesis...so many hours on Sonic, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe. Still doesn't compare to the Sega Saturn though, loved Clockwork Knight....also provided safety from Segata Sanshiro.
You guys should try to make another XO level. Like making it so precise and tedious that it will take 20 minutes to even put down a time. I'd like to see what you guys can do (And please, bring back NCS music for building, ROY KNOX released new songs since you last used NCS as background music.)
7:00 To be fair, I tried 6 times to say it and couldn't do it either. lmao 12:00 I grew up on Atari and NES. I did have the Sega Master system with the 32X and the CD attachments. I'm old.
Lmfao I love it lmfao definitely both Nintendo and sega and the Dreamcast as well lol 😂 but definitely still play all of them to this day and so do my kids, I’m feeling a Sanic 😂😂 race day between me and the kiddos lol
An idea for future track designs if it could work Labrinth style, so multiple entry points but once in they either join up, go over each other or just launch you into objects.
super monkey ball on pc, i think there's a generic port of it if memory serves correct, combined with a guitar hero guitar and the gyroscope axis hooked up as your joystick controls is one of the funnest things ever because it's just so visceral. I suppose an arduino based gyroscopic controller might be easier to accomplish nowadays lol.
Kan makes a track that has 1 turn, no obstacles in the middle of it (only very few trees on the sides) and the others still complain about it being too hard XD. It's ok Kan, next time just make a special track just for cosmo and dapper that is only 3 pieces, start, strait piece, finish. see how can get under 1 second
hmm... after watching some of these theme videos of theirs i'm starting to come up with ideas of how to make the track to be more pain. and i grew up as both a Sega and Nintendo kid. oh, and if you dont mind, a suggestion for a theme track build: multiple choise paths, just one is the right choise.
Don’t worry, we young people know old video games. Most of my friends (highschool) have beat the og legend of Zelda. Also there are some good emulators out there for these games.
It's nice how different the tracks were. Even had 3 different winners this week :D
Would you mind sharing your strategy, you seem to not put down a time for like the first half and than you put down the best time.
@@animalmango6499 I dont know about warcans but what some people do is they go through the map slowly the first couple times and learn the corners then theyll pick up the speed
Why so sanic?
Hi
@@animalmango6499 maybe he is trying to go all in on every corners. If you don’t know a map, you might clip a wall or something
I love these video game tracks. If there was any theme I would like you to repeat, it would probably be this one.
Yeah its so open to interpretation that it can easily be repeated another 4 times or so
Zeepkist is also a video game hmmm
Love it - I was a Sega kid, so this hits me right in the nostalgia. Would love to see this theme repeated, I think there's a lot of scope for that with this theme without people repeating themselves.
i love how much you guys are advancing in map creating. just the tiny tweaks that are making the level feel way more polished

Just wanted to say that I love your videos and they're really relaxing while still being entertaining. Keep up the great work!
If one day you understand what a trajectory is, you'll be able to beat warcans every time... or at least compete

He's really frustrating to watch sometimes, he just makes the same mistake over and over
"What is Sega", yeah that's when you realize how old u are
Or young, Sega was founded in 1951
SEEEEEEEEEEGAAAAAAAAAAA
To quote my dad "Oh God, I can feel the liver spots forming..."
That just made a 17 year old feel 47💀
As a life-long Sonic fan, also being my nickname at work, I love this track! Great build!
That was a really cool track. =]

Supercool theme this week and all of you made something outstanding!! I really can't decide a best one.
I love how Kan made a better Sonic game than Sega lol
Ag the irony
Total saw this and thought the same thing. Sonic stage.

I played Sonic on the Gameboy. It was amazing. Played it every day.
You really out did yourself on this one kan. Once you started playing, I started humming the music for green hill zone.
As I watch more and more zeepkist videos I enjoy them more and more
Great job of recreating the feel of the green hill levels!
Love the speed here. Such flow!

This track looks so awesome :-D
I think you won this one Kan. Very cool. It hit that nostalgia spot from when I would play Saga, even though we call it Sega here in the U.S 😅👍
Awesome track! GG on the win too
I like these tracks that reduce RNG interference.
Miss the Railroad online videos. Hope you could do some more of them.

My new favorite sentence is "they're not aggressive trees"
I absolutely love you vids, I gave also wandered when you guys wold do a theme like this.
Follow cam from a slight distance from the one side would look so good simply because that's just how the cam in Sonic works
Kan: "What kind of Sonic game do you not go fast on!?"
Me: "Sonic 06 and maybe even Sonic Frontiers from what I've seen of the game so far."
These videos are so cool and fun to watch you are a great creator kan
it's allways good to have some good videos again
5:40 You go slow in the underwater levels where you're waiting on bubbles so you can breathe, actually.
"SAAAAANIK" made me laugh.
perfect track well done and fun
SEGA Genesis is the MVP console. I loved seeing this track! Awesome job kAN!👏
Throughput this entire video, I could hear the Emerald Forest theme playing through my head
I loved playing the original in the 25th-anniversary game. The first time they really nailed the animation in the 3D games as well.

Looking at the track from the side reminds me of when I had one of them acrylic ant colony things... Maybe a track should be made like that one time

Sweet green hill zone track kan ^ ^
dude that's crazy almost half a million subs I remember when you were just a simple train conductor/builder/supplier/etc.
This is a great track omg.
"Seeegaaaa" Also, 8, 16, etc. Master System rocked 8-bit, Genesis ran on 16, Saturn and later Dreamcast both competed in the 32 bit market!
Every time I hear Sega I hear the load up part every god dam time. brings back memories 😢

I am a 2009 kid and I had a console that had the old sonic games on it and I remember playing that every day
"Half the players have never heard of SEGA" - this isn't Gotta Go Fast, this is "Gotta Feel Old"
you could improve that time even more by taking a better line through the hairpin and getting in the fan boost quicker at the end.
grew up with a pegasus (NES bootleg) but the moment i got a PC and Sonic R i was hooked on Sonic since
An idea for future track designs if it could work Labrinth style, so multiple entry points but once in they either join up, go over each other or just launch you into objects.
Everytime they say "Sanik" it sounds like they're getting ready to do an Eminem impression. lmao

Im surprised it took Kosmo and Dapper a minute to figure out it was a Sonic's theme track
I think most of my experience with Sonic was actually on the Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2. Played the classic games to death

Awesome idea for a track Kan, maybe do more Sonic tracks I am sure people will like them
My dad had us go through all the old consoles before letting us use the newer ones. I really liked the Sega ones.
NO VEIWS? I've never seen that on yt, let alone on a relatively large channel!
NES is my house but I instantly knew what this was.
Green hill zone was my favorite one, mainly cuz I couldn’t get past marble zone
OMG :D i just watched this and immediately took out my sega megadrive 2 and had to play a round of sonic :DDDD
well made track
can you guys do a tedious track challenge?
sick soapbox car kan
"what kindof sonic game do you not go fast in" sonic 06
some ideas: fast, small, slow, ice, grass, fans, wallrides
man i remember having a sega console with Sonic, Alex, and thief bros on it (forgot the names of the last 2) and when it broke i was so friggin sad
You never played super monkey ball. Cosmos my new favorite
Should try and make some tracks where you have to lose a wheel in the beginning and race the course with only 3
You should invite scrapman why is he not here
Some of kan's early tracks like the canal one 10 months ago would be amazing to see with some of the pro's now.
A track idea: maybe you three could build a track wich you would ride in first person from the start to the finish :D
Theme idea: Invisible (maybe just in one section or just some glass tunnels or something) (:
remember that sega had a cartrige for its portable version with an antenna on it so you could watch tv ?
Since I got bored, I decided to do points for each 15-minute challenge, top 10 listed here:
T1 Kan - 509
T1 Warcans - 509
3 Kosmo - 355
4 Dapper - 324
5 Rubbish - 316
6 Fiets38 - 130
7 MrWouter - 109
8 PoleLord - 97
9 Psycho No. 7 - 75
10 Spuzzle - 57
Warcans has won 12 of 45 races, Rubbish 7, Kan 6, Dapper 3, Kosmo 2, and Fiets38 2.
Green Hill Zone is the Sonic level Kan is referencing :P
You could do a no roads or pipes theme or irregular
3:53
I was a Nintendo kid so kosmos track hit right at home
Do a theme where you make obstacles out of track pieces and make the track out of obstacle pieces
You should make tracks that all must sustain speeds of over 200
Nice track
Was there an "extreme" themed track? Hard to remember all the challenges that been used off of one key word
Another theme could be toys. Hotwheels, Lego, Barbie, TMNT, Transformers, etc.
Car go brrrrrr
Now I don't fill like a old man
kan is just a green hedgehog LOL
