- Adygea is a geographical oddity in the North Caucasus. This ethnic republic is completely surrounded by Krasnodar Krai, making it a rare example of an enclave. But this curious detail has its basis in the turbulent and tragic history of the region’s native people - the Circassians - and their relationship with the central Russian state. It's a story of distrust, war and genocide. Join me on an aimless ramble around the region's capital city, Maykop.

I saw a few videos where westerners just repeat Russian Popaganda on "how Circassians suddenly decided to go to Turkey for holiday 150 years ago" or even worse.
