Looks like Daiwa took another step towards making it harder to service the reel, those bail arm screws being on the inside of the rotor arms will be difficult to remove without removing the whole rotor. Is the line roller mag sealed? If it is no thanks😢.
I've got one on the way from digitaka. It should be here this weekend or being of next week. I'm pretty sure its going to feel just like the Exist. With one of my Exist, I had to open up the side plate and add light oil to get the rotational heaviness to go away. Once i did that, I felt like i wanted to fish with it again. It's ashame daiwa can't find a better gease for a lighter feel. I'm looking forward to the new Vanquish. If its better than the 2019 model, I'll be very impressed.

HedgeHog had a replacement bearing for the Airity on sale even before the release...LOL. While I sure do not need a reel, if I were to buy one I would go for the 23 Vanquish. Not happy that Daiwa seems to be moving away from 1000 size reels. For my style of fishing the 1000 size spool is the best.
i don't know why they have 2 x 2000 sizes and not even 1 x 1000... I really can't tell them without looking at the spool. This reel is 4.9 gear ratio though, so line retrieve definitely will not be too fast even with the larger spool... I have no complains except I hope resistance goes away in a couple of weeks, but i doubt it.
If only the new Exist have some decoration cutting in the spool and a better looking handle than it would have worth the extra $200 over the Airity. I know you like the silent bail folding, but I have some older Daiwa that have the clicking bails and they sound better than my Stellas. I was working when you were live. I just wanted to ask, if you hold the rotor still and try cranking the handle, is there still that little play in the gears and spool shaft? It seems like no matter how expensive any reels is, there is still that little rattle because of the mechanics. Anyways thank you and Gary for the reviews!
Bro it sounds like you've never even seen or held an Exist you're just parroting the opinion of this guy word for word 😂, the 22 Exists handle matches the atheists of the reel absolutely perfectly, metallic white silver in colour and beautifully contoured, it looks like it's made of liquid and flows directly from the equally beautiful engine plate, stop taking everything you see online as gospel and go see them and have a feel of them in store for yourself, you may have a different opinion 🤷.

I have en strange Sound with the 2500s like something scratch inside the reel.. and didnt Spin as much in a freeroll like my other daiwa reels feels like heavier and not smooth like the others.. My first impression when i open and rotated was, the reel is defect… i order at Japanlure shop.. and they say compared with other airity reels, they have the same sound…idk if this is normal…what ur toughts?

I just got mine last week. before I pre-ordered it, I had tested it in the shop. They only have the low ratio 2000 model. The cranking resistance was acceptable for me, so I ordered the high ratio 2000 model. But my Airity 2000S-H has way more cranking resistance than the Airity 2000S-P. If comparing with other reel...for me the cranking resistance of the low gear ratio is very very close to the Exist LT level, but mine high gear ratio model, very similar to luvias airity level, which is a bit disappointed. Believe it or not, even my certate lt 2500S-XH has lower cranking resistance than this Airity 2000S-H😂 Is it just me? Does anyone experience the same thing as I did?

@@CannonCountry Without a doubt! The 19'Vanquish is STILL king of UL. Once I purchased my first Vanquish none of my other reels compared from inertia to smoothness. I now own 4. I use the C2000S and C2000SHG for Trout and Panfish and the C2500SHG and 2500S for Bass. I love them so much that I purchased a spare spool for each one. The C2500 spool fits on the C2000's and the C3000 fits on the 2500S for when I need extra line capacity and a stronger drag.
@@ifishcatfish It is a really good looking reel! It's almost worth buying just for the looks. This Airity and the new Vanquish were the 2 spinning reels that were on my list to buy this year. The new Vanquish looks a little ugly but I'll wait on your review before blowing another $450.
@@philipfalco7304 The Airity is the better reel for most though, only in ultralight fishing is the Vanquish considered a better reel because of its super low inertia and almost no resistance, however for other style of lure fishing (lures heavier than 3grams) the Airity is better overall, and in larger sizes (3000 and up) actually has less inertia than the Vanquish also. Another point of note, this new Vanquish I suspect will suffer from the Stella FK's wide spread teething issues (probably the highest rate of poor quality control in Stella history), buying a Stella FK is like traversing a mine field, the Vanquish will likely be the same. It's nice to get what you actually pay for, so a big tick to Daiwa for not allowing many duds to skip through production, Shimano on the other hand don't seem to care.
@@cozab5487 I live in the North so I spend a lot of time fishing for Trout and Bass. For Trout I use the Stella fj 1000, Tatula LT 1000, the 19" Vanquish C2000S and Vanquish C2000SHG and they all are performing perfectly with the Vanquish at the top followed by Stella fj close second. If you're saying the Airity is a In-between reel than I don't really need it. I already have numerous Shimano's and Diawa's in the 2000, 2500 and 3000 sizes for that. Actually I don't need anymore reels but the Airity and 23' Vanquish were just on my wish list for 23'. I'll wait for the reviews and either buy both, one or none. I do however agree with Shimano's quality control. You can buy 2 of the same reel and one can be a dud. In my experience Diawa reels feel all the same. That's why I like picking out my reels in person and spin a few before buying but I don't have any good retailer's in my area and when you buy JDM it can be hit or miss.

I know the original airity was exact same as the old exist minus the spool support bearing. Hopefully this is the same. Looking to hopefully pick this up along with the new vanquish.

This reel is a luvias arity with different spool.great looking reel plus airdrive. I m a big fan of daiwa reels.

i have never been in Japan : ). My advice is don't worry about $20. Find a reel that is perfectly quiet and pay whatever they want.

thats not resistance. HG is doing more Work per handle crank. To do more work you need more force
