Yes, I agree with Bear that this Timber Rattler Bowie is a great knife. I give a 5 out of a five. Great knife for camping and great for defense if ever needed.
That's One Bad Knife Man! Great Review! I have One Myself! After watching Your Review it almost makes me wish the guard on mine would break too! LOL! Anyway Awsome Review! I'll keep watching. K. Smith
By the time I got mine, it was a bit over $30, but worth a lot more than that in my opinion! Thanks for the review, you confirmed my thoughts about this knife after seeing a video of its manufacture. Those Pakistanis are some experienced blade makers! Giving credit where it is due!
I liked it so much I got all three the stainless, pattern welded Damascus, and the 1095 carbon steel one .......they are all awesome my favorite is the pattern welded Damascus
Glad someone said it Js When a 30 to 25 dollar bowie Does far better than a 200 dollar one People probably hate this knife becasue of how good it is With mine my buddy thought of getting one because i had one that was dogged for about a decade And How to convince him i hammered a tenpenny nail in a dry 2x4 Then choped it in half It freaked him out lol Great knife This is the knife all knives have to match up to And nost dont lol I agree the cross gaurd is great when its gone lolol
I just ordered one and I can say Im very impressed the only other budget bowie that's on the level as this and price too is the Rough Rider Black Mule Bowie
It has replaced my other knives and they werent cheap. If you know 7cr steel then its a tank. She flex where carbon snaps. Edge retention is fine for large knife applications keep a small Skinner super sharp for the proper task. Timber rattler is how a knife should be made and sold. Not a bunch of advertising and tatical sells etc. Just a beast from Pakistan for the proper cost. Cold steel used to cut it but they went china joe on us.
Thanks for your honest down to earth review. From someone that actually uses the knife and knows how to maintain it. I found and subscribed your channel looking for reviews on this knife. I'm glad I did. I plan on checking out your other videos and look forward to your new ones. Thanks again and have a great day brother. I just purchased the knife. It will be here by this weekend.
It's like my Muela Jabalí 21, but on steroids , i lost it's handle wooden scales but i wrapped some rubber strip around the steel handles to grip It... And it's one of my go to Anywhere knife...🥰
I've never seen a feather stick like that even with a mora knife. This was my first Bowie knife many years ago. After that I bought some others from K Bar and Esee but this beats all. It looks much better without the guard. If they sold it like that they would probably sell more. I put the leather sheath inside of a canvas machete sheath from Rothco, the one with pockets. Makes it easy to carry. People in Pakistan have been making knives for thousands of years, they know what they're doing. Years ago I heard a review from someone in South America and they used them down there.
I like mine very much. Can't say much about the edge from the factory except HORRIBLE. I used a file to get it to where I could work it with diamond steel, and Arkansas stones. It's almost razor sharp right now.
I agree. It's a really good knife. I have 2 of them and I have yet to see one fail. I like your sheath, I was thinking of doing something similar with my sheath on one. This is a must--have knife for any knife enthusiast/collector/outdoorsman I just wish that the cutting edge would go all the way down to the choil, seems like quite a bit of wasted space having a ricasso over the choil. Oh well, maybe one day I could mod it If I could ever get around to it.
Great review Bear! I got one today and surprised on how heavy it was, and how it looks in person. Not bad for a budget Bowie. Definitely will buy another!
@@bearcurtis9133 I agree 100%. I think I might take the brass guard off, maybe even wrap the handle like you did. One think I got to do is sharpen the blade. They gave it a rough grind from the factory, but that is fixable. 💪
Bro that's a badass knife, I want one when I get paid, I've bought a few knives from smokey mountain, I'm going to look when I finish your video, keep up the great work 👍
I am quite happy with mine Of course with some modifications , special handle design, cross guard, and putting a fine edge on the blade. Always in my main backpack. I will etch and engrave it eventually. As for a Dueling Weapon, No Problem!! However because it is such a very special and beautiful knife it is looked at as a valuable price of Art with Perfect Deadlines about it. It was taken apart , shipped to and then from Dara where it was modified into what it is now!! It has it's own story, it's own unique history. It is my survival tool and primary weapon!! It did not come with a cheap price!. Nicely Done Video!! A Person can learn the Durability factors about that specific model of Bowie Knife, putting it through Hell, which by the way I hope mine didn't come from there, sometimes I wonder?. Around the campfire in does look impressive, I tell the guys it's my pocket knife.
I got me one the other day and you are right it's a very heavy blade well worth the money and it's 2 years later and now 35 bucks on Amazon but I just paid 4.35 a gallon for gas today so I'll say it's cheap at 35
I just watched your video again, and thought you might like the Rough Rider Coffin handled Bowie. It's about the same overall length as the TR, but has no cross guard. Not quite as heavy as the TR. I really love mine. The only drawback I see is the sheath isn't as nice as the TR.
It looks way better without the hand guard, looks nice I have several bodies my favorite is 18" long total length I'm going to remove the guard now that I see how it looks
If you don't have a Western Outlaw Bowie ,you should look at get one or two ,and as for the Sinful Bowie it's a fun knife for bottle cut ,but the Outlaw Bowie lives up to it's name.

Good review, I'm gonna buy one. Subbed
Now that is how it should look and cut ,still one of the best Bowie Knives on the market.
Bad Moe Foe of a Blade.

Looks pretty badass without that gaurd. Thinking about maybe popping' the one off of mine! Gives it a completely different look...

Great idea with the Turkey feather. Thanks!
I just ordered one and found out today, July 8th 2022, that it is sitting in my mailbox. Can't wait get home and check that beast out.

You sold me on this one bro. I wouldn't touch anything but Bucks before but I've always loved the look of these and I'm going to give it a try.
There well worth the money bro

Yes I bought one about 13 years ago. Still new in box. Sheath sucks but the blade was worth every penny
This is a great video.
You should make another video of you using this bowie for your Bushcrafting.
