Go check and compare the number of snaps of each defensive lines. You're going to find out Michigan is in the 300's and Alabama is in the 500's. Alabama players practice against each other every day. Iron sharpens iron. This is why Alabama players that go to the NFL say the practices are easier in the NFL. Today was NSD. 15-17 of those 3, 4, and 5*'s are early enrollees. Many are practicing during bowl game practices. In January and February they will be in the 4th quarter strength program. Training goes on and on before the season begins. Alabama has a system. GA has a similar system. A first year starter that has been in the program for 3 years is almost 4 years into the program. People shouldn't underestimate "experience." Alabama is approaching this game as a one game season. Last time I checked they haven't had a losing season.

Not a great take. The thing you're missing is that Alabama is a work in progress. This team is full of elite four-star and five star players and coached by the best coach of all time. Jalen Milroe did not play well against Georgia especially in the first quarter. He has trouble finding secondary receivers and checking down. His instinct for escaping the pocket haven't been that great. Alabama has yet to put it all together. If the Michigan defensive line can't put pressure on Jalen Milroe, this game is over. If they can, Michigan has a good shot at winning. The other thing to note is that this Michigan team beat Ohio State because of a pick six otherwise... it was a coin toss. So not buying into all the Michigan flexing.

This is not a good match up for Michigan. They are 0 - 5 in last 5 Post/Bowl Games against SEC Opponents and lost by average Margin of over 2 TD's. You will not be able to just run the ball to win. It will take Alabama turning the ball over several times and providing Michigan short field to score points. Think Bama win 30 - 21.
Yet in 2015 they waxed Florida in the bowl game and beat them to a pulp in 2017 to start the season. Please stop with this narrative. The $ec had a losing OOC record this year.

This is not a good matchup for Michigan based on what? What about this season tells you that? Alabama's run defense is mediocre while Michigan has pounded the rock all season playing in the best conference at defending the run. Alabama's run game on offense is mediocre too, and Milroe is not nearly as accurate a QB as McCarthy. I would call the receivers and secondaries for each team equal, but give Michigan the edge at tight end and running back, along with the interior of the offensive line vs the interior of Alabama's defensive line. Michigan is going to run the ball and throw to the tight ends to win this game.

@@kenfelder6478 well, in opponent adjusted ypc, which measures how you do relative to what your opponent allows everyone else to gain, Michigan's offense is #17 according to CFB nerds while Alabama's offense is #62, yet in raw numbers Michigan is better by just 1/3 of a yard. That tells us that Michigan's 4.2 ypc was a lot harder to gain than Alabama's 3.9 ypc, which means that the Big Ten run defenses are better. Look at Penn State's run defense. You don't allow that little ypc just because the other team is bad. You should be able to average more on a defense by just diving on every play than what Penn State gives up on the ground. I will say its going to take a great performance by JJ and a well called/schemed game by the offensive staff for dudes to get open so we will see if they have it in them. Michigan is one of the top programs in the nation but they're terrible in the post season & nick Saban is not only the goat but he's been hard to beat in the playoffs while Jim Harbaugh hasn't figured it out yet am easily taking Alabama in this game

Expanding to 32 teams is way too much. In college basketball u have way too many teams that get in that never stood a chance. 12 is plenty. It's hard to find 12 teams that can actually win it all in football. Plus the season would be too long and added injury concerns
