This game is purely for bragging rights, it really has little bearing with the twelve team play-off. There is no championship on the line
And bragging rights are huge!
It does have an impact on the playoffs, not as in who gets in. It will likely determine who plays in the SEC championship and gets a potential bye in the playoffs, assuming they win the SEC.
It definitely does have playoffs implications especially for Ga who has to play 4 top ten teams 3 who are better in every statistic than this team. If ga looses they will damn near have to win out. If Bama looses they can loose to Tennessee which is the only team left on their weak schedule and make the playoffs
In a vacuum, you aren't wrong. But I agree with Christopher... considering we still have texas, Ole miss, and tennessee on the schedule- this game certainly matters for us. It isn't a must win. But losing it puts more pressure on those other games. And another loss WOULD make the other 2 must wins.
I think a 3 loss uga, if they looked good in their wins, including a quality win vs clemson and another top 10 team (bama, texas, ole miss, or TN) and all 3 losses were close games against top 10 teams- they SHOULD make the playoff. But I don't trust the committee to be intelligent.
I think we need to finish with 2 losses or we'll be left thinking 'what could have been' all over again.
This game is as big as a sec championship this where recruits decide on big time programs and use this as a stepping stone for superior rights period

This is hilarious Georgia is not the preeminent king or bar setter for college football it is now and has been for the last two decades, Alabama.
You can't have a dynasty, when you can't beat the team that actually has the dynasty. Georgia has to play a real schedule now after they built their reputation on a bunch of cupcakes and a sorry East conference of the sec.
As far as Milroe, people talking about him not being able to throw in the middle of the field. he doesn't have to, he has an incredible deep ball and awesome athleticism he throws what he wants to and if you can't stop the deep ball you're in trouble anyway.
