What would you want to learn next? 👀
I've seen guys have problems with hurting their wrists from hitting on an indoor mat frequently. How do you have your mat setup so that you avoid injuries from hitting on it?
Hi Bryson. I'm getting up to 190 ball speed but I'm curious what shaft you are using. I'm using USga compliant shaft length with the krank LD 6°. I'm noticing I cannot turn it over like you they tend to be pushed out there to the right, still 350. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks! Also I'm in Scottsdale I'd love to do a long drive session with you 💪
Bryson, thank you for the content. A few years ago, you did a tour of a house or training facility you were constructing. Did you happen to complete the building and will you be doing a video tour? Have a great weekend.
Bryson, what is your indoor putting surface? brand? etc etc... Appreciate all your content, and you're always throwing out great pieces of knowledge, wether you're doing it on purpose or not, love hearing how your mind works! Happy New Year and Good Luck this season my friend!
honestly just talk about golf and i will consume it like theres no tomorrow. Its so interesting listening to you talk about golf
Will never understand people who have a problem with you. How many other current tour pro’s give us this much of an insight into the pro game, especially the on course videos you do with other youtubers. Keep it up!
Haters gunna hate man...
I use to not like him awhile back. Not even sure why. Maybe because of some of the long drive stuff and seeing him go from a scrawny nerd to this ripped beast in a short period, I honestly thought he was juicing. But one day I decided to watch his content and he's become one of my favorite humans on Earth.
Same thing I have said for years. People who hate on Bryson are losers
Agree I'm impressed with Bryson and his openness to share with everyone.
It’s because he’s a logical and normal individual. Normality seems to be frowned upon now a days 🙁
Everyone talks about growing the game, but you are actually doing it. Thank you for such amazing content.
Right! Like the golf channel and other stupid mainstream media. They talk to talk, but not walk to walk. BAD is actually growing the game of golf.
The man’s on a 150 million dollar contract and still using his spare time to help people who can’t get to a bunker or a simulator. Unreal 👏
"It's about how good the bad shots are." Best quote in this video
He is brilliant.. Great that he gives us these training videos... Don't see many other pros doing that... Seems very down to earth as well..
This guy is one in million! A pro golfer with millions of dollars and he still takes the time to help his fans! Thank you
😂
I TOTALLY AGREE 😊@@Cenot4ph
Honestly, the fact Bryson even takes time to do this, this generation of golfers are truly fortunate myself included. If we could see Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, we are just starting to see Tiger and well thats different. But a tour pro giving us gems just hugely excited everytime thanks Bryson
I can watch instructional videos from anyone, and a lot of what they say most likely won't stick with me. Watching videos from you have changed my game and how I practice. From using the Jumbomax grips, switching to a Krank driver and particularly the sand bunker divot practice with Rick. Literally blew my mind, and it made so much sense. Your great attitude and passion for the game set you apart from everyone else, you have a fan for life and watching and learning from you has brought me so much more joy to the game that can feel incredibly frustrating at times! Thank you sir!
You taking your life’s golf education and sharing it is amazingly generous and incredibly helpful. I look forward to your teaching videos. As well I have improved as a result. I do the drills outdoors in Wellington Fl. Good luck in competition.
Amateurs practice until they get it right, Pros practice until they can’t get it wrong. Big difference.
Might live my life based on this quote now…. Thanks for sharing!
That is a quote to live by in any endeavor! Thank you.
Bryson, you're awesome dude. Thank you so much for taking the time to share these drills.
Love that every drill is understanding what the club is doing. People get too wrapped up in how they do things they lose focus on what the club is doing. Even incorporated a target which is also super important in getting better. Awesome job Bryson!
The talking heads on PGATour radio constantly talk about LIV not growing the game, yet you share awesome information, insights and demonstrate how to work to improve our games, we support you and thank you
Awesome lesson-three easy to practice steps that anyone can do at home. 🔥
Great stuff! Thanks for taking the time to share practical approaches, even without a simulator. So much of online instruction is full of gadgetry and product plugs. This reminds us to keep it simple-just work toward good crispy strikes!
This is gold. Thank you Bryson.
My son is 11 and loves golf. We invested in a practice net for his at home practice during weather cancellations and after school sessions. These small feedback drills will make such a difference for his striking and confidence. Thank you again my friend and good luck for the upcoming season. 👍🏻
just beware that a net will also engrain a bad swing, because you cannot see what the ball is doing. The ball flight tells you what your swing is doing.
Agree with the comment above. I recommend impact tape for the clubs or even applying a dry-erase marker to the club face (it will wash right off) for feedback so you can see where on the club face he’s making contact.
@bvokey8842 how can you possibly hit it poorly if you are hitting center face, pure, and starting the ball online?
@@bvokey8842how can you possibly be hitting it poorly if you are hitting center face, pure, and starting the ball online?
I started golf 3 years ago and you have been my #1 influence. Im down to a 9 handicap. Thank you for all you are doing for the game of golf!
For those of us in the UK where we have crap winter weather you can use a thin micro fibre cloth instead of the tape. The micro fibre tends to stick to the mat just enough not to move. Great drills Bryson
The video you did with Ricky Shiels last year revolutionized my game, lots of other videos out there give some great tips, but that video emphasized the need for instant visual feedback and iterative tuning. It upped the accuracy on my irons and woods by a huge amount.
What a great video Bryson! This is what I need for this winter!
Great. Thanks for your generosity sharing these practise tips and the number of repetitions required to get better. It makes practise more of a competition instinct. You share more tips than any other tour pro in helping amateur plares improve. Plus your informal TH-cam matches are as entertaining as anything on TV because you can hear the banter and the preshot thought process and then the genuine reactive analysis to the outcome of a shot; whether good or bad. Thanks again, you are true golf enthusiast.
I put a metal bar down as a line and use pain and punishment to condition myself.
Same - with a mains cable and steel club shaft.
Thanks Bryson for drilling down on IMPACT ! Very few tackle Impact as they are obsessed with backswing , squatting, ground force, shallowing etc. Pure ball strikers are more focused on what the club head is doing at the moment of truth. The "purity of strike" is the only thing that matters when you really think about it. Regards, Ray
Just that tidbit about practicing 8 hours a day and 3 of those hours being on drills like this really puts things in perspective! Goal oriented drills and practice are the keys to growth and success! Thanks for another amazing video Bryson! You're growing the game through education. Love it!
What a brilliant video . Pure simplicity. No technical thoughts ,no launch monitors ,no swing aids that you have to buy etc. Masking tape ,tees . This is why most instructors miss the boat . You have to keep it simple and easy to understand for the average golfers and bryson understands this . He's not just a world class golfer but a very good teacher as well . He also sounds really giving with his time and genuinely wants people to play better from content I have seen lately . This video makes me want to go out and practise because it simple .
I like your enthusiasm for golf, you mentioned the line drill, when i first started playing i realized the importance of hitting ball first in the summer i used a chalk line and i even traced a line outdoors in the snow to see how my divot looked. I'd like to see a balance video, im working on that but would love to see how you approach it. Ty
Great appreciation for your kindness and compassion. Thank you for helping me become better. Practicing a lot at 54 yrs old. Keep being the best of the best!
I practiced the sand drill you did with Rick, i thought i was a decent ball striker until i tried that drill. It was really hard at first, now just about everywhere here in England like a bog following a month of rain I'll be practicing this
Same here, real eye opener.
💯
Amazing content. Having someone at the top of their sport putting out quality coaching for the betterment of the game is just unheard of, and also really appreciated. All the best for 2024 Bryson.
Really good stuff, and something that you can practice for a long time without getting too fatigued while honing your swing. Thanks!
I echo all the thanks to Bryson. This simple video on using the net to practice at home with those constructive drills on these fundamentals. I’m just getting back in tot he game and its so difficult to separate the fluff and tech stuff from the simple and pure ball striking and getting the ball on the center of the face every time. These drills alone will lay a great foundation. Thank you!
This is what it takes. We get to see a different element of that every few days. Bryson loves to practice, you can see it. Gets pure joy from execution. To share with us to the level he does is unheard of. I too found him a little kooky and maybe even a little aloof. Thats the level of focus and dedication it takes. I guess i learned to not judge a book by its cover. Thanks Bryson, your content is amazing 👏 👍🏆
We need more of these and to see this side of you Bryson. This sheds a really good light on who you are while doing a service to the golf community.
AWESOME tip on the masking tape. Absolutely love this and will be doing it to improve contact. THANKS!
Great to see a Tour Pro of your calibre take the time to give a tutorial lesson. Kudos Bryson, if only others did the same...🙌🙌
Really appreciate your content. This definitely helps to inspire others to get involved in golf, especially the younger generation. Wish this kind of stuff was available when I was getting into golf as a kid.
Teaching us that level of repeatability has never been taught before. It is helping me go from an 11.9 to now a 9.2 in just 4 months. I've been hitting 3 repeatable shots before moving on. Sometimes it takes 30 balls to just hit 3 but it's worth it. I"m getting better, thank you for this level of content. Your helping the golf community.
Hi Bryson….just a shot in the dark but…would love to have you do a clinic or speak to my students at Roosevelt High School. Our home course is Dragonfly and we’ve just kicked off our season. But these kids have never been outside of their community and it would be very inspiring for them to meet a professional golfer from their hometown. On a side note: Im sorry about your dad. I played a few holes with him over the years at Airways. Was a great person. Around the time he passed, i was taking care of my mom as she was passing away from stage 4 cancer. I didnt hear about your dad until a few months later when i returned home to Clovis and they told me about him at Airways. Very sorry for your loss. Anyway, we’re all proud of you here and love that your channel is doing well!!
You are a phenomenal teacher of the game! Thanks for taking the time and sharing these drills! You could be doing other things with your time, but you clearly care about growing the game and helping golfers of all ages/skillsets.
Love these drills B!!!! Definitely going to try these on the range. I’m thinking I would definitely hit scratch this season if I employ these tactics. Thanks Bryson!
Veeery quickly becoming my favourite sportsman. Not just for this vid (which is awesome), but all the content you've put out there recently.
The bloopers at the end are a lovely touch. Bravo
As I’m watching this video with -14 degrees of wind chill outside 😂😂
My new favourite golfer, thank you for taking the time to give back to other passionate golfers at all levels who are willing to listen and learn from your content to get better and enjoy the game more and more.
Like I said before your ahead of the curve with your tips and lessons. To bad the rest of the tour pros don’t get what your doing, you have reached deep into the amateurs brain giving us an easy lesson without the baggage!!
Last winter I practiced swinging my driver (hundreds of swings) indoors every day (without a ball) and I discovered something about my swing which I carried to the course this spring and it improved my ball striking immeasurably. It's just a fundamental thing; the rhythm of my swing and really feeling how the leg muscles generate power. The full swing is just a big coiling action. When you can feel that, it will translate into consistent, solid ball striking on target. That would be a great lesson because it's a swing fundamental and essential. *Key: keep the left arm (armpit) snug to your chest for a one-piece takeaway. When your turn (coil) reaches the backswing limit, the lower section of the body (legs and hips) wants to lead the downswing which is correct. And that stops the arms from taking over and hitting from the top or hitting with the shoulders (as most amateurs do). With a proper grip, and steady head, you will hit more fairways and greens. Guaranteed.
Nobody cares; this isn’t your channel or video. Go bore people elsewhere.
Awesome stuff B. Love how you make the drills applicable for anything from a beginner to your level.
I would say for the first drill the brush mats on the market today are super cheap and pretty durable and give awesome feedback. And are fun to play net games with.
I'm 68 and have been playing regularly for almost2 years. Retirement has given me the time to work on my game, take some lessons. I'm practicing at least 3 times a week and playing at least twice a week. I went from a 24 down to a 15 and I'm getting better with more confidence every time I tee it up. Great instruction
Did these 20 times in a row and instantly got a call from LIV. Cheers legend 👌😂
I like the idea of the chalk line. Feels like that is the best way to get the instant visual feedback and not mess up the turf permanently.
Also, it's a very kind and generous thing for you to be sharing so much information with people. You've put in probably thousands of hours in just practice, who knows how much money in lessons, and all your years of just playing golf (for fun and competitively) and you're offering up all of that for a like and a subscribe. You're a hell of a good dude.
I'm celebrating a $30k stock portfolio today, started this journey with 6k. I have invested on time and also with the right terms now I have time for my family and the life ahead of me
I know Mr Larry Marshall. He obviously brings a lot of experience in trading to the table but more importantly I think his is a tough person in an industry that....
I'm surprised that this name is being mentioned here, I stumbled upon one of he's clients testimony on CNBC news last week
This must be an investment with Mr Larry Marshall
Investing and trading now will be the wisest thing to do especially with the current economic fluctuation and inflations
Well I engage in various prolific by compound interest & leveraging this sounds more interesting
@brysondechambeau the tape and tee drill helped me reduce my score from low 90s to 80 :) thank you so much. Amazing drill!!! Also keeping track of it out of 10. Once you start doing it is so obvious but you are the first one on here to explain it so easily. Please keep doing these videos.
I’m taking my first golf lesson on Sunday I’m pretty excited. I’m 41. Thanks for doing these videos. You and Tiger are my favorite golfers.
Thank you! The two tees drill looks like a great idea. I just wish I had a place to hit inside for winter. I usually can only work on backswing in the mirror so I'll have to stick with that. I'd love to see a video on your right elbow thoughts throughout the swing, back and down.
Everyone who loves the game knows you are a golf professional but an instructor! Did not see that coming- wow you are amazing to watch and learn from Thank you!
Your willingness to help us amateurs is doing more for the game of golf that’s most to come before you. You are legend bro and the community appreciates you!!
Bryson, you are my #1 favorite pro because you give so much back to those of us with 2-digit handicaps and less. Big THANK YOU!!!
This is great, thank you. Would love if you could cover face control/squaring the face consistently and how to best practice it
Thanks Bryson these are great, practical tips that involve sweeping swing changes which can often be the case on youtube!
Your love for the game and your actions you take to actually grow the game is awesome to see! A true legend in for the game of golf. I will be following the steps. An 11 handicap with a goal of 8 this year 😁 4th year of playing golf. 4th year of being a Bryson fan! 😁
These are simple yet highly effective drills that I had forgotten already! 😂Thank you for reminding us about how important these key things are in the golf swing! All the best!
Great instructional video. Thankyou. I remembered your tip for striking the ball when I saw Rick hitting the line in the bunker. Been using that in practice ever since.👏👏
Great video thanks Bryson. Honestly this kind of content is why you’re my biggest hero 🏌🏼♂️
I wish I had Bryson 32 years ago when I started golf at the age of 35 because some of his techniques and thought processes really gave me an epiphany, a "light bulb" moment. For example, I used to calibrate my putting distances relative to the length of my back swing, etc. I worked really hard on my game throughout the years and got down a very low handicap at one point.
In 2007, I basically quit the game; started again, quit again 2015. Mainly because I lost all my golf buddies. I played about 20-30 rounds of golf since 2015.
This year I saw a chipping net advertised on one of the social media platforms, purchased it, and started to practice my chips. Now, I got golf nets, putting mats, go to the simulator and actually played 4 rounds a golf this year. Last round I shot 75. Not bad, not good. But the point is Bryson's videos really got me working hard on my game again.
Thank you.
Literally out of millions of golf videos that have been posted-this is truly one of the best. Bryson nails simple drills with simple explanations. Truly a scholar of the game.
Impressive and free to boot. Thanks Bryson.
Thank you for this and all your videos. Your approach to coaching is really natural and very well communicated. I hope some of it will stick in my memory.
DeChambino, a man of the ppl
Bryson thanks so much for your videos. Most professionals don’t take the time to teach the amateurs. You are definitely growing the game. Sick setup on your sim/gym hope to have one just like that sometime soon
Thank you for this video, I appreciate it and will take this to the range the next time I go. Full transparency, I was blinded by the PGA vs LIV. I grew up an 80’s baby and Tiger started on the tour when I was a freshman in high school. I was loyal to the PGA and now have seen the light. Both platforms must exist and now the world of Pro golf must come together. Thank you for truly growing the game.
Thanks for the video! My grandfather told me that I couldn't beat his 7 handicap that he had through his 30s. Im 25 and started playing 2 years ago, and before this winter, I had 3 weekends in a row that i shot in the 80s. Im To the point in my game were the little things cost a lot. Chiping, putting, and ball striking.
Love this guy more for his genuine passion and love for the game. Great drills...
Absolutely love this!! Showing you can still get better on a budget!
Great drills Bryson, I've played for over 50 years and never really done these drills. New beginnings, best wishes from sunny Scotland .
Bryson Dechambeau is a natural but work hard. He leaves nothing to chance. He explores various solutions and equipments. And most valuable, he shares his findings. Please, continue !
I grew up playing this sport and other sports coached and top privates and I can tell you the joy that a person gets who likes to coach and that's what this gentleman this gentleman I only likes to play his sport but he likes coaching people and trying for them to get more out of the sport and thoroughly appreciate what this man does and he does it from almost a self-taught perspective which I thoroughly appreciate
I am playing indoor golf in the winter to keep swinging the club. There is always a way to play if you want. Love the video with things to work on as well. Tape sticking to the club was a great visual 😂😂😂. Great stuff
What a treat! So awesome to have these tips from a tour pro. Thank you so much for giving your time, sir, much appreciated.
Thank you so much man. Love that you are willing to spend the time helping people get better. Super legit.
Wish I had that setup to practice. I've got some garage space once I can afford to get a net etc.. Plan on putting in double work this winter for next season.
I’ve had a downfall in my ball striking the past few months, excited to try these drills at the range. So simple, thanks Bryson.
Bryson, what a refreshing and informative instruction video. I love watching you play golf and how you approach excellence in your career. Thank you for sharing some of the knowledge you have gained in becoming one of the world’s best players.
First class Bryson, you put aside time as a tour professional to help others. Absolute gentleman, and a top top guy. Much love buddy 👍🏻
U are by far my favourite pro golfer out there
Taking time out of your life to try and help all us mortal golfers
Keep up the great work 👍
Bryson I have always been a fan especially since you were bold enough play your best golf even though it didn’t fit the conventional methods. The media portrayed you as a weird/mad scientist but after watching your videos I have become a bigger fan. I respect how genuine, sincere and passionate you are about the game. It’s a shame that the PGA prevents other pros from having a TH-cam channel so we can get to know the players and get more insight into the game we love. Keep it up Bryson!!!
Perfect timing for this video. It’s a blizzard 🥶 here in Michigan. I’m going downstairs to practice these drills. Thanks 😎
Great content. I love the way you sort of geek out over the fine details. I have recently changed my clubs and philosophy of my practice and expectations. I am a 12 handicap working my way to single digits. I recently benched my game improvement irons for 1970’s muscle/blades. I re-gripped with oversized grips. I am focusing more on strike quality than distance. The larger grips soften the harsh shots without masking them. I could not definitively tell a quality shot from one slightly toe or heel struck with GI irons. I also have benched my driver for a Persimmon 5 and 7 wood, again focusing on getting more quality strikes. I would love to hear your thoughts on my changes.
The best golfing advice on this platform, it’s that simple.
Thank you for helping so many with the game of golf. Please keep these tuition videos going as theyre super helpful
A tour pro answered my TH-cam question with an entire video. What an amazing asset to this game.
Just got a net and mat for Christmas, going to be doing all of these all winter, thanks so much Bryson! You are the man!
Awesome drills so well laid out - using my astroturf took on a new meaning! I like the no technology bit too, clear and instant feedback without clutter, golf is hard enough, thanks for making us love it more. Subscribed ✅
Love how simple this is and how cheap it is also. Great job Bryson love simple things that give big gains.
Thanks for the practical drills Bryson. Huge fan of you and your channel!
Brysons tips are gold. I've seen only a few videos he has and all of them are fantastic.
I am in the process of returning to the game after a longer pause. I love this content and it’s amazing how it helps to get back on track. Keep it up!
When the pundits are shaming professional golfers for taking the LIV money "to grow the game of golf" they are not paying attention to BAD. I believe Bryson is the shining example of how his LIV money is allowing him to make golf less mysterious and more enjoyable than the model that's existed for the better part of the past 75 years. Yes, professional tournament golf is exciting, but most golfers know about as much about tournament level golf as they do about nuclear medicine. The majority of golfers want to see the fun games they can play with each other, the missed shots, and the camaraderie the game brings. BAD is doing all of that and more. Thank you, Bryson and I wish you continued success.
YOU'RE THE MAN. This video came out exactly when I needed it. Good luck next season!!
I'm so glad Bryson was able to bypass the mainstream golf media and go directly to the people. The PGA was so viscous against these guys. How many people went from loving guys like Phil and Bryson to hating them because the PGA and their media partners had to make these guys the villains? Bryson has become a true people's champion.
Boy, have you got that right. People just buy into the MSM BS.
4:06 ... some of the best golf quotes ever. Thanks Bryson! Good stuff man!
Thanks Bryson you have made a fan here. Following you has brought me back to the game as a 66 year old. As far as a future video, Im curious as to golf specific stretching routines you do. Never did any as a younger man, just played. Now I think I should do something just to get my old body around the ball before warm up shots.
Bryson you are a great golfer and man. Your parents raised you the right way. I would enjoy meeting you..great content m8...
It’s great seeing a pro giving lesson to us high handicappers who want to play better golf and lower are scores thank you
Thanks Bryson! Already started to see improvement in my ball striking after practicing this in my garage for 1 week.
