    Great review! I just got mine a few weeks ago. It shapened right away, but not as sharp as i wanted. I had to learn how to optimize it's use. That was easy because I started using it on every knife we own several times a day. Oh man are the knives nuclear sharp now. I'm sad because there's nothing left to sharpen. My machetes, axes, butter knives, and even my drywall hatchet are Razer Sharp. It's so therapeutic for me using it. I get into a meditative state as i sharpen, and feel every imperfection as i pass it over the blade. My favorite thing about my day everyday.

    Sharpen a knife every day 5 mins a day for 2 years. You will eventually be able to sharpen a knife on anything. No matter how bad you are when you start, you will devolp a feel. This is the key to sharping you don't need to buy anything it will only cost 5 mins a day. In the end you will feel like you can sharpen a bagel on bumper & get it razor sharp. Nothing is a replacement for a life skill you will always find it valuable.

    im sorry but this is a horrible way to sharpen an edge, maybe in an emergency until you can get a proper edge, but a proper edge has micro serrations like a saw blade, running anything in the direction this is going will only cut those off, im not saying it cant possibly get an edge sharper but it damn sure aint gonna last and its not a quality edge. a proper edge holds for a long time, then should be honed to bring back the micro serrations or stropped going in the direction that the micro serrations can be added and cleaned up

    • @thisisMeDM
      @thisisMeDM 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it cuts it's sharp. A tool you use will get dull. You aren't going to sharpen in-between cuts in a real work environment, and a day of work will dull any knife. In the hands of the average person this would do them better than a whetstone. That's not even considering time consumption. You're a knife hobbyist, and your opinion means jack shit when it comes to work. It's obvious you don't do any.

      Not really. Also it's not necessary not desirable to try and attain such level of sharpness, it just creates a weak apex of the edge that will be destroyed immediately and bring down with it the rest alarge portion of the edge. Better to settle for something less impressive but tougher that will stay in this state for a very long time.

      Look that: the arrows are the direction you pull the knife in the V to, the \ is the tilted sharpener seen perpendicular to the camera (like in your shot)
      Correct: ⬅\⬅
      Incorrect : ⬅/⬅.
      Titled against the pull is much too aggressive and will bite release jump, bite release jump one thousand time in one pull which is called "chatter" (which creates a ragged bevel/edge. ). Which doesnt allow the other par tof the sharpener to do its job of honing either because it will follow the chatter pattern that the V made on the edge.

    I don't need that kind of sharpener to sharpen my knife when I go camping I use smooth rocks to sharpen my knife

      @@tomsmith6094 and in an emergency situation, you can’t make a knife I can. I just find a piece of tin thin enough to run through the veep cut it and make a knife. I also sharpen fingernail clippers, which are very useful for fishing. I sharpen scissors and serrated edge blades, I can do so many things more than you can with a smooth rock. Thank you for watching. Have a good day.

    You can buy a work sharp sharpener for a lot less and it does a better job than this one.

      @@liquiddw2 so you are saying, you sharpen your fingernail clippers with this work sharp gadget gimmick. You’re saying, you also sharpen your long handled, hook, jaw, limb, loppers with it. You are also saying you can sharpen a lawnmower blade with it. And you are also saying that you can sharpen an inside radius blade with your dumb gadget. If you say all those things you are positively not telling the truth. So come on buddy tell the truth to the people as long as you’re talking. Are you saying that you carry one in your pocket. I can carry 10 of mine in my pocket and give one to everybody in my hiking party if I choose to.
