    I still have my poco f5, well, mine is the Redmi Note 12 Turbo chinese edition. I don't take pictures so the camera was always an afterthought. I'm one of those guys that would get the Blackberry with no camera back in the day because i cared even less about taking pics back then.
    The Chinese version has less band support here in America so i also opted to forego 5G. LTE speeds are fantastic for what i do when I'm outside which is Navigation and TH-cam.
    The main reason I got this phone was for the performance and headphone jack, as juan pointed out but i didn't opt for the F5 because it didnt have a 1TB option. I absolutely love having this much storage. I can't always carry my hiby R5s with me so this thing, some KZ in ears, and Neutraon or USB audio player are absolutely great for my lossless collection of music.
    I couldn't get these features from any of the phones in a T-Mobile store which just frustrates me. Yeah, the price on this Xiaomi Note 12 Turbo was absolutely bonkers to me at $362 but if T-Mobile was carrying a Sony I would have picked that up on some monthly payments. The selection is so piss poor in these stores nowadays. Samsung, iPhone, Pixel, Motorola (this one is surprising). This is your list of choices and then the storage selection for these phones are horrendously low. If im not getting Micro SD support I'm going to need at least 512 GB of storage. These phones also lack a headphone jack and would require dongles 🤢.

    Great review as always Juan B! As a frequent user of Xiaomi phones on the U.S., they tend to work great. Yes they release too many phones and need to mitigate market saturation.
    Also, their mid and budget phines have regressed with camera tech. Given the processors, there is no reason all their phones can't do 4k 60 on the rear and 4k 30 on the front. Also, as I have a kid active in sports, a good telephoto lens is greatly appreciated 👍🏾

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For REAL! I think the major pivot happened when the cheap Pocos started getting 5G, and we saw those phones compromise every other feature for an SOC and a new radio. I'm hoping the next phase of tech is to bring better telephoto cameras to mid-ranger devices. No reason we shouldn't start seeing periscope lenses on $500-ish MSRP phones.

    The design aesthetics of #RedmiNote13ProPlus5G is truly reminiscing that of the Mi Note 10 (not Redmi but Mi), one of the Xiaomi lineups that was discontinued.

    Sir, I know this is off topic but I need your opinion.
    I love my VERIZON LG V60 but its getting long in the tooth. As I I'm using it I can literally see the battery depleting. I'm thinking it's probably time to get it another phone. I love this phone and I am not sure if I should replace it with another one, or if you think there's something comparable that I could get for the money. I like the fact that it's performance was always a pound for pound diamond in the rough. It always seemed to punch above its weight. And the things I like most about this phone are the camera and hd video quality, The music Sound quality, the size ( I like a big phone), and its ruggedness. • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There are a LOT of regions though where at least two of these brands will compete directly.
      So off the top of my head, You have Xiaomi Lite, Xiaomi number, Xiaomi T, and Ultra. Then you have Poco C, M, X, and F with multiple phones in each tier. Then Redmi Note, Redmi Number, and Redmi A.
      Let's say two of those brands exist in your region. How do you guide someone to picking the right phone for their needs?
      In some areas I can find a Xiaomi 13T for almost the same price as the Note 13 Pro+. Those conversations get REALLY complicated.

    With today's ubiquitousness regarding products (where you can basically get anything from anywhere in the world, living on the other side of said world), Xiaomi's division and relaunching of products under the Redmi and Poco sub-brands is confusing for consumers. Poco's M6/X6 lineup shares 90% of stuff with the RN13 lineup!
    I wish they'd just do a global Xiaomi launch and that's it, and leave Poco with unique models like their F1 every couple of years (the Nothing approach).
