- Reviewing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, including an unboxing, camera test, gaming performance and battery life verdict. I've been using the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G as my personal phone for a week and here's how it stacks up vs the Pro Plus, as well as that Poco X6!

If you're after a budget mid-range smartphone in 2024, this is among the best. Sure, it's not IP68 water resistant like the Plus, while the gaming chops aren't as strong. But for a cheaper UK price, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G boasts excellent specs, top battery performance and can rattle through Genshin Impact. On reduced graphics settings, admittedly.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G's 200MP main camera is good in most cases, although can falter when your subject isn't stationary or when the lighting isn't ideal. You can even shoot at that maximum camera resolution, to zoom in afterwards.
We're still waiting for Xiaomi to slap its new Hyper OS launcher on here. But the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G does come with 3 OS updates and 4 years of security patching.

Just upgraded from Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro (it was working flawlessly tho) to Redmi 13 Pro 5G. It's been an absolute blast so far. Especially the camera, it is absolutely amazing

if you're still struggling in choosing between RMN 13 Pro 5G vs. Poco X6 Pro 5G, here's just a quick advice.
If you prefer camera and imaging quality, while not being a hardcore gamer (higher graphic requirements for heavy mobile games), then choose Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G due to its staggering 200 MP OIS camera built with Samsung sensors. The post-processing quality of this unit when it comes to imaging is stunningly great compared to Poco X6's 64 MP main camera.
On the other side, if you are a hardcore gaming whose willing to exchange camera quality for the beastly performance on heavy games, the guaranteed smooth gameplay while enjoying high graphic settings can be achieved when opted choosing Poco X6 Pro 5G. From the sacrificed camera quality, it houses Mediatek 8050 processor compared to Redmi's SD 7s Gen 2.
However, if you do not mind the differences and only want the looks and style, since it is very subjective, you can decide your own.
Anyways, both units will guarantee good performance regardless of their camera quality and processors since they are still monsters when it comes to mobile unit industry.

I recently bought Nokia G42. It is working great so far. I love stock Android and the fluidity it is offering. Most importantly it has "double tap to wake" feature (which is a must for me). Thank you for making reviews of budget and midrange smartphones.
Xiaomi phones also have double tap to wake ( i love this feature too 😂 )

Th ephone is really good feels like a Flagship , I wish it could be 4k60fps but atleast it is 4k and It does not have a metalic body , still it has gorilla glass victus but very scrachable

Really? Poco F5 and X6 Pro are basically flagship tiers in terms of performance boost from the usual midrange phones!
That poco x4 pro is so ulgy..nothing special..
Same but it starts to irritate me with lagging especially if messenger in use in the background... It's some software issue but phone basically freezes, but works alright in other circumstances.
I got mine today for 299 ngl I love it my first Xiaomi was a note 6 plus
And they never disappoint at the moment no issues or bugs running hiperOS I'm chilling not bad of a price And can run warzone mobile so I'm Gucci 120fps no prob
Does the NFC work here in the uk? The specs page on the Xiaomi site says it depends on what region you are in so im curious if it works in the UK..

quick question, how's audio from the videos sounding? i currently have the xiaomi redmi note 11 pro and the audio from my videos is really terrible. it sound really tin-y, lacking any bass or low-end whatsoever. other than that im satisfied with my phone but that video audio issue that i've been having ever since i got my phone (and as i've seen other people got the same issue as well) is making me consider upgrading. so, does this new model fix said issue?

I'm thinking of getting this Redmi, mainly because it has jack and it looks quite well balanced in general.
Then, as quality sound is so important to me I would love to ask you or someone to answer me please, if the sound using earphones in this mobile works okay, as I read something about hearing noises, and that it doesn't work well. To me it's not enough to know it has jack 3.5 if the quality sound is finally horrible.
To know something in this respect it would be so helpful to me...
Also, if someone could test earphones using the Poco F5 5G, and so to compare to the quality sound with the jack in the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G it would be great to tell me about the experience! 🙏🙂
Another subject in this mobile, I heard that the screen makes a lot of too much shines, but you didn't talk about this... It really disturbs the visual experience?
And my last question please, as it seems to me, since what I saw in your video reviews, the screen in this Redmi has to be "better" in specs than the one in Poco F5, but why it looks better to me the one in the Poco F5 as watching it in your videos at least? It looks more vivid and more contrasted and more deep blacks and whites than in the Redmi that looks more flat and pale... It can be possible?
And also, another shocking fact, in your videos the camera examples you took with the Poco F5 looked so nice to me, even compared with the Redmi. I hate when skin tends to yellow in pictures, and the Poco seems to respect better the whites, but not sure... Also the video quality looked better, apparently, in the Poco F5. And the lack of detail in furry pets was horrible in general, and when they move a bit, it was worse in the Redmi...? 🤔 Very good point in showing us this, btw...

Just found out you can keep the always on display always on so it doesn't turn off and go until you tap it on poco and xiaomi phones with the almost always on display. To get it display all the time without turning off after a few seconds. You have to go into developer options and turn the miui optimization off!

I have a redmi note 8t, bought off the back of your video back in 2020, it was a bargain at £119 at the time and now it's coming time to replace it but what's bothering me is much of what is out today at a similar price point, doesn't appear to be much better spec!! All I really want extra, is 5G and a bit more memory and processing power, while keeping the usb c port and a rival camera. Apparently open camera allows my 8T's front cam to record video in 4k, though I don't know if that's upscaled. Anything available for my poverty budget?

I have the same one, loving it so far. Can't understand how Poco can sell it for the same price as the 13 pro, it's superior in nearly every department apart from the camera sensor. The 13 pro+ is £100 more than the X6 pro, which just seems nuts.

To me, there is. Poco X6 Pro use Omnivision OV64B sensor & Note 13 Pro use Samsung HP3 sensor. OV sensor always tend to be overexposed. Especially when you use a pro/manual mode for camera, the difference between these 2 sensors is quite big.
If you don't mind with Xiaomi products, i would suggest go for Xiaomi 13T. It uses Sony IMX707 sensor which is far superior than these 2 sensors. The price of course slightly higher but if u look at it for a long run, it's worth it.

The 13T is not just "slightly" more expensive, it's almost double price than the redmi 13 pro. so it's not an option for me.

I don't really mind the design of the phone or lack of camera quality if the performance is good enough for regular usage and a bit of gaming. I'm thinking to get either one but the Poco X6 Pro 12/512GB model is the same price as Note 13 Pro 8/256GB in my country so that's why I'm on the fence. Would like for your opinion.
I'd suggest you go for the X6 pro with the more beefier chipset which on paper is about 160% better than the 7s Gen 2 on the note 13

For example when i swing the mobile while capturing video on Redmi K20 pro, it doesn't give any blur resolution video, it has some kind of video capturing stability software inbuilt. So how is the quality on this while capturing with swinging up and down, left and right mobile?

I'd go for the 13 Pro tbh, if you like curved display and waterproofing then go for the 13 Pro plus.
Yep, based on the reviews so far the cameras on the X6 Pro are pretty average.

Good question! I also heard a lot of people complaining in that respect... In my case, and using still another old Redmi, having same problem, I recommend the use of earphones with mic to answer phone calls, and then problem solved, you don't touch then the screen with your face. Also healthier..

Hey Spurt i got the note 13 pro 5G few days ago and I've noticed a problem with the volume being way too loud even on the lowest volume setting, this only happens when wearing earphones (both wired and wireless i tried different brands same issue) if you read this please test it out on yours and let me know if this is an issue with the phone's hardware or the software

@@neewollah19 I downloaded an app called SoundID from google store it calibrates the sound to ur own hearing levels now its tolerable

Do Xiaomi phones even work with Android Auto? So far I hear a lot of problems with these phones being imported and google wallet not working as well other apps. I'd like to get the 14 model but sellers are flashing Chinese models with the global rom which doesn't help if the phone isn't 100% factory global.
