    Subscribe for TEFL value and info, ESPECIALLY if you like the idea of Spain :)

      Very informative. Ray here n just subscribed. Hey I was wondering if you had some recommendations as far as which school to go to in order to get your TEFL? I believe in one of the comments you even mentioned to another subscriber about a site where you can get it for free but wondering if that would be a smart move. Thanks in advance 🙏

    If you plan to rely on your job as a teacher in an academy with no other income stream, you will certainly have a better lifestyle outside of Madrid and Barcelona. The salaries are low, the lifestyle is higher and most of the academies there tend to offer part-time jobs, rarely 9 - 5s.

      Agreed!! Unfortunately, the allure of the big two is too much for some of us 😂

    I am seriously looking into Spain after I acquire 10:18 my citizenship by de decendant, but definitely will need to bring my American salary with me 😅. That’s a huge chunk to get used to…

      Absolutely, depends on lifestyle...but I found the outdoor lifestyle, because of the weather, made cheap or free things really fun. Subscribe, I'll be dropping A LOT of specific Spain videos :)

    At 13 an hour were you considered a freelancer or employee? Did you have to travel or were classes held in the academy?

    • @LewisGreenaway
      @LewisGreenaway  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Employee. One academy, all my classes were at the academy itself.

    Very interesting! Did you do any private tutoring within your side projects? This can be a nice option for people looking to supplement their income a little without taking away too much from being able to enjoy the lifestyle

      I only took up 1-1s with my academy, so less lucrative, but no Spanish tax headache 🤕

      Start by getting some decent items on your teaching CV. Voluntary positions etc, I'll have to do a video on this.

      I met a fair few 60+ TEFL teachers working between 12-16 hours a week. A nice option.

      Build a CV, talk a good game, locate as many academies as possible via google maps (the smaller the better), look the part, walk in and introduce yourself as someone looking for work. I would do a course first though or get some experience. No degree? Get a CELTA. Degree? Get an online TEFL. Not advice, do your own research!
