  • This video feaures 3 areas of rust repair. First is sanding down the rear frame and floor area and painting it. This is followed uncovering some pretty bad rust on both inner and outer cowl panels, which get replaced with new full stampings from AMD. The passenger side cowl to rocker reinforcement panel gets repaired, while I fabricate and replace most of the one on the driver's side.

    Although I did not purchase them (it would have taken too long to get them), the Cowl to Rocker Reinforcement panles are available. Please note, Summit Racing's website does NOT list these parts as fitting the Cutlass. My guess is they will fit with some minor modification:

    What welding machine are you using to weld.........stick, mig or tig ?

    • @CobblerBob
      @CobblerBob  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a Lincoln Electric 140HD WeldPak. It's a wire fed Mig welder. I'm using .025" wire and 75/25 Argon CO2 gas.

    Try and add a little more amp or a little less wire speed to get better melt-in, those spots are hard to grind and the pockets and pinholes can be a rust spot
    Otherwise nice progress!

      I'm still trying to dial in this new welder. I did try the next heat setting up, and when I do, the weld tends to splatter right out of the welds. I'm sure there's improvement to make, I'm just not sure what!
