I am a proud Polock with my father growing up in the Italian part of Hazleton, I am the last of 9 children and we grew up well diverse on Polish and Italian foods. I have tried a few Easter Pies in the past, yours looks like the best I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to try it, thank you for sharing.
Growing up I always looked forward to my Calabrese Uncle's delicious Pizza Rustica at Easter time. A wonderful recipe that can be enjoyed year-round! Thanks guys!
I’m a new subscriber and I’m going out of my mind! I live thousands of miles from Brooklyn but I used to visit my grandparents in Brooklyn (Marine Park) all summer long. Oh I miss the Italian delis and bakeries! Nothing like it on the West coast. Thank you for your wonderful recipes! ❤❤❤ 🇮🇹 🇮🇹🇮🇹
Just the best...now I have to make it..I know it's no Easter, but we love food...lol..we make a cross with the leftover doe and put it on top..I am going to put the onions in..never had it with the onion but I bet it's good...thank you..
My mother was taught to cook from Midwest hillbilly family, and Public Brodcast Channels, Mr. Beard, Julia Child and other seasonal shows. We had Meatsa Pie, which means no Italian cooking shows in 1970's. It was Italian sausage cooked, poured in pie crust, covered with cottage cheese and eggs, Italian seasonings, topped with mozzarella cheese.. This is something I have to make and share with her this weekend!!😅😂😊❤🎉
I love your mother’s critique! My grandmother would Have done the same. Both of them know There are more authentic cold cuts and dry sausage that you can get in Brooklyn the Bronx and even Italy. I love that she said “it comes close” LOL Thanks for keeping it real!
I like this from the bottom of my heart~ Amazing for this one haha. Good and wonderful channel. ⏱✅You have an awesome content going on there. Okay I loved this... 👍🏻These Ingredients Make a HUGE Difference PIZZA RUSTICA RECIPE! 👀⏱🔥
That's a beautiful recipe and I appreciate you providing it to see how it's made. At the same time it reminds me of some of the culture that is lost in my family. My grandmother used to make " Casatta" which looked alot like this that was made here for Easter. Nobody I know ever took it up to make again. I will make this especially for that reason. You guys are awesome and I appreciate everything you put up on video.
My grandmother used to make like a dozen of these pies every year and give them away to family and friends. Her recipe starts with "10 dozen eggs". I'm planning to make one on Friday :) She never used ricotta though, i may have to try that sometime.
Just wondering if you guys have a recipe for Pastiera Napoletana , the Italian wheat pie made at Easter? I usually make that with the pizza rustica but would like to see somebody else’s version of the wheat pie if you have it.
That looks great! I have a suggestion for future shows. Since food prices are rising and inflation is getting out of control, you might consider doing a program on Less popular meats like liver, oxtail, chicken livers etc.
Another great recipe! My Uncle Eddie used to whip this up every Easter for the family. We loved it!
Thank you! We grew up eating this at Easter. Good stuff!

Love the callout to daddy jack chaplain I loved cooking with the blues
Yes, Jack is missed by many many people.
Was wondering if you were going to make this . I made it a few years ago it weighed about 5 lbs😳 but it was was delicious ! Happy Easter to everyone !
Happy Easter Paula and to the family!

That’s great! You should try one with ricotta cheese. You’ll love it!
She had to use ricotta if she didn’t it would fall apart
That looks delicious!

Our grandmother made that. We’ll need to ask mom if she knows the recipe.

Excellent suggestion! With today’s inflation, I think that’s a great idea! Thanks!
Making mine Saturday, Buon Pasquale a tutti famiglia 😘
PS: who gave Dom the week off? 😉
Happy Easter to you and your family as well!
Lmao
Is the Daddy Jack reference from Cookin' With the Blues? RIP
Yes, it is! Jack was a great guy and chef.
What size spring form pan are you using?
9 in.
"Sticks" of butter. Definitely for USA only
😎
I grew with this pie and a friend used pie shells and it wasn't bad. Has anyone tried with pies shells???
Pie shells work great also
Love this but heard it’s a pain in the butt to make!
The most difficult part is the dough. You can also use a quality pie dough from the market 👍
I hope no one gets arm hairs in their pie
Arm hairs are a delicacy! Yum Yum!
You really are a dope
Where’s the written recipe?
I need to work on that.
I really don’t like ricotta cheese, is there any substitution also do not like cottage cheese or any type of cheeses or yogurt products
Hi Rose! Unfortunately, I don’t know of any substitutions for that type of cheese.
No
