They’re not displayed or anything. It’s literally all in cardboard boxes stacked up pushing against the door ways
Eh, not saying this didn't raise an eyebrow for me, but, I don't think it's bad. He seems to he doing well (healthy, house not a mess) and, as long as it doesn't get him some financial trouble, it seems fine? Yeah, he can do with less, for sure. But, as long as he's responsible with it, can't fault him. I think it's comparable with people collecting books/vinyl records/wine/whiskey etc. Etc. I feel this is the kind of thing that happens when you got too much disposable income.
@ difference is you drink the spirits, listen to the records. I understand your point of view but I feel it’s a slippery slope he’s on. House etc looks grand and he looks smart etc but that doesn’t mean their is/isnt a problem. It’s his money end of the day not mine but I think that’s just too much personally. Awesome new format and series. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this and hoping you might come stateside. Just saying, I have a huge room that is prepped with plenty of boxes if you need somewhere to start.
During a series of manic episodes (bipolar) I bought more minis than I could paint in a lifetime. After selling everything I could I'm left with a pile of literal shame that kills me every time i look at it and a mountain of debt. If nothing else i hope this raises awareness that this hording behavior isn't normal and some of us aren't ok.
@francescobuscemi-rp5oy Never counted but probably a minimum of 3k points in every 40k army in various states of build and paint, boxes and boxes of built terrain, every codex and rulebook from the last 15 years, 4 unfinished AOS armies. Then there's Star wars legion and shatterpoint, Marvel zombies and crisis protocol, masters of the universe, drop zone and drop fleet commander, SLA industries and some roleplaying stuff.
I would love to see a version of this series where you help sell items in collections, I also have collection of model kits Im starting to get this overwhelming feeling of painting and I always want to sell some unbuilt kits but man I can never find anyone to sell to or figure out how to get that going
I love how relatable this is on a personal level. You start out young with lots of time and no disposable income, as life picks up you start having more disposable income but less time, your hobby becomes a collection gathered over many years hidden away.
I loved this episode of Hobby Hoarders! If you want to shoot an episode on Northern Ontario someday, I have been stacking up boxes since the 90's, and could use some help! On a side note, I got pneumonia about 20 years ago, and missed a few days of work. I stayed home and painted 1,000 points of Imperial Guard. Pneumonia must hit harder in Sweden than it does in Canada.
I just realized I'm only 4 months into the hobby and I'm already turning into this guy with about 50-60 minis on my backlog that aren't neither built nor painted. And I already have a few more in the shopping carts of different online stores waiting to be ordered. I need to rethink my situation, clearly.
Great video! Love the combination of go exploring in someone’s collection, the social side of it with chatting and getting to know the guy a bit and then painting. More please. 🤗
the pure joy i see in all your eyes is something you dont see on youtube everyday ! that was amazing to watch, i am a sucker for a model kit, i get half way through then it gets put to the side and never finished :(
You really brought that army to life. At the final presentation I was imagining those bugs come stomping and crashing through the forest to devour their biomass... Hearing them coming... Trying to keep my hands from shivering, gripping my rifle... Knowing when they finally break through... I'm dead Crazy frightening. Loved it ❤🎉
I'm a bit undecided on this video. On one hand, I love seeing all of the amazing kits and models, the history stored within the collection. On the other, the lack of organization or knowledge of what is there hurts. How many of the books have been read and how many are just decorations? How many games have been played, and how many just sit on the shelves? I also have a massive collection and backlog, but I know what I have, they're organized, I continue to paint them and get games in. I love seeing minis completed and ready for the table!
Very nice job as always. I really apreciated when the other guys behind your project came in and helped. It was nice to see the other guys that are part of Squidmar. And I am also wishing Lukas to get better soon.
Okay, i thought i had an issue with hoarding, turns out i don't. When your done with helping Albin, i live in Höganäs, in good old Skåne, i have a few armies that are in need of paint, and also a shit ton of minis for boardgames! haha excellent video! And Albins collection is amazing, watching this i feel like he is living my dream.
I came to say the same thing, but I suppose if 'collecting' isn't having an impact on health, social, or finances it's not an issue? It didn't feel good though, you're right.
When I was in my final year of Uni I was pretty stressed and unhappy, ended up buying Skaven and Imperial Guard to just have, never painted or played a game with it, definitely was a coping mechanism and not a healthy one
Here's an updoot for you. I like the idea of getting backlogs painted and to the table, but them joking about buying more while his stuff was getting painted by other people fell really flat for me.
Fantastic looking Nids!! 🔥🔥🔥❤️ You guys have to stop thinking Swedish and assume all the bad things that can possibly happen!! Then you wont be under so much pressure or stress!! Especially when Lukas is snogging Grandpa Nurgle under the mistletoe 🤔😜😂😂😂
i think this is borderlining on youre enabling this blokes hoarding/mental illness - insane that they painted this huge army and he went out and bought some more random kits.
I had a fairly sizable collection of models at one point but sold all of it during a time when money was tight. Now I am older I try to limit my purchases to only what I am working on but recently I have allowed that to creep. My goal is to ensure I build and paint regularly. Set myself modest monthly targets of at least 1 unit a month. Does not always work but provided I come back to it I should get though it all eventually.
This IS a fun video, and it’s so cool and interesting to see such a massive collection (reminds me of some crazy TTG yard sales I’ve been to in the past), but I can’t help but feel that this guy doesn’t need help building and painting his models. If he has the type of money to throw around on a collection that large (that he doesn’t even build or paint) he certainly could be spending some of it for commission paint jobs or something. 😅 It was more of a “feel-good” vibe when you helped someone who had lost their army before, I feel like helping someone who’s more needy is the thing to do. (Though I admit again, it was really entertaining to see that hobby room and everything in it.)
I love the vivid green on the tyrannids. Also the bases. I must say though, that if he's still buying minis and not painting them himself, his backlog is going to continue getting larger.
The concept is not horrible, but I liked it better when you helped out people that really needed it, like the guy that was selling his army unwillingly to pay bills or the one you gifted to someone's dad that had to quit the hobby long ago. This dude has a problem with hoarding and that's it. He could spend less in plastic and more in painting comissions if he wanted.
@@TehSawnderz I read my comment again after 2 weeks and I think it's a totally reasonable piece of feedback. I don't know what it being free has to do with anything, TH-cam videos are free and there is a comment section in every TH-cam video, it's a key component of how this platform works.

@rupertjones5197 Oh 100% man. Everyone has a back log of whatever hobby they are into models/video games etc etc but there's a huge difference between a backlog and a mental sickness. @@justtom2504 I’m on the same page as you man, this gentleman needs help. Not really into Warty K, but you smashed it out the park with this army! Great effort guys to make this fella's Christmas very special indeed! Boy Howdy! What a collection he had too! Merry Christmas from Texas!🍻
Now this is a series! I realy had to rethink the way I paint to cut down time and help get my backlog down. I try and do everything in as few colors as possible. Less thinking, more painting!
Yeah, Ive had people like this in my gaming circles, they are very keen to talk about purchases and "cool models" but it never goes anywhere. It just piles up and collects dust. It really is an annoying character trait and the same people tend to show up with half glued together bare plastic minis and play against painted up armies - not even being bothered by it - ruining the game for everyone else. I quit a gaming group many years because I could not stand one guy that was excatly like this.
@alexanderkawczynski7626 I am sure it was an official rule back in the day, that you should only use painted minis to play with? I might be half remembering this...but you definitely couldn't show up to an official tournament unpainted, and we adopted the same rule in our casual group...they only had to be based coated, at a push, but it was good motivation to get them done.
The concept is great but I’d much prefer to see you painting army’s for community groups or perhaps audience members that are less mobile/capable rather than somebody who’s hoarding €100k+ worth of warhammer that they’ll never bother painting and could afford to have them pro painted if they just moved on a corner of the room.
“Never bother painting”? - I’m sure it’s not a matter of preference, just the reality of the number of hours in a day. Even if he turned to industrial scale output he’ll never finish painting it all.
Seriously. This guy has enough money to sell the duplicates he has, use that money to get someone to live in-house for two months to pro-paint the remaining figures, and STILL continue to collect. I rarely judge other's hobby preferences, but this is just... obscene.
Great job on this heroic intervention, but I must shatter your illusion: this is NOT the worst you've seen. Here in France, in a remote corner (filled with boxes), I live surrounded by mountains of unassembled and unpainted miniatures that would make this collector look like a rookie. Warhammer 40k, The Old World, Horus Heresy, Necromunda, Adeptus Titanicus... this is more than a collection; it's a monument to hobby procrastination. If you're ready for an international challenge and an epic confrontation with The Greatest Pile Ever Seen (TM), I’m your guy. Plus, I promise good cheese and wine to fuel your motivation. So, are you up for a French adventure?
Great idea, I’ve slacked on my collection for many years now. I started in 3rd Ed 40K, when I didn’t have much money but friends I worked with at the time that got me into 40K. Then I got a better job and the buying part went up, but the playing time and build/painting suffered, and the friends were many states away so maybe once a year playing while on a vacation to their place. Now my collection of still in plastic wrapped boxes, still in the box, half built, or in primer is about 1/4 or 1/3 of the collection in this video; and that doesn’t include the board game wall I have. Basically I’ve seen game stores with less inventory lol. AoS Spearhead has given me a little bit of drive to try and get some small armies done, and hopefully Kill Team will do the same.
What do you mean insane? Mine is larger.. and 30 years in the making... but this year is the first time I have actually reduced the backlog! Only 2000 or so to go!
Ill never understand the back log. I get so anxious just having one mini that isnt painted. The wife helps with this. No more minis until you paint what you have. I guess i should tell her the same about her ork army.
never understood the patience in painting these figures but the result always look fantastic. not gonna lie 🙂 id love to have just a couple of them in my home.
It’s interesting how there are 3 (at least) separate hobbies - collecting, painting and playing. I love painting and am always surprised at how many people play with gray minis. I will paint 2-3 kill teams for every one game I play.
Those models turned out so good! The green looks creepy and alien, and the orange on the claws really pops. The only one I don't like is the one at 20:50 where the eyes are glowing red. The eyes look obnoxiously big, like it got punched in the face or something. Otherwise, great job!
This was a fantastic video! It also helped me to get hyped to paint my back log Tyranids. I am jumping from one colour scheme idea to the next, and the fact that I dont own a airbrush makes the task of painting them daunting. But after watching this video, and the sponge technique, I think I will just sit down and do it, maybe do a vibrant scheme.
I appreciate you lending your time to help another Warhammer fan build and paint his models, reducing his backlog. I need to get off my fanny to build my Horus Heresy armies. Get well soon, Lucas. Happy Holidays to you all.❤❤😊

We’re all different though! :)

I love that this is a "this week on Hoarders..." thing, but one that I can really get behind. Heartwarming effort.
The poison green and orange really give a threatening vibe the bright colors are literally screaming at you hey i am here I am so deadly I don't need to hide.
The purple tones in the mouth and stuff are absolutely phenomenal what an incredible job on this project
This is such a lovely video. Gave me a smile to see humans doing cool things to help other humans.
Anytime I see your bases I get jealous of your flocking supplies lol
I really really love this idea of going around helping with piles of gray, it guarantees a wide variety of painting subjects, adds a level of chaos, and introduces us to different people in the hobby. 10/10 concept
AVP!!!!! My first collab with another TH-camr was AVP, I created the terrain he created the hunting party and we each shared our interpretation and the process. was so much fun.
Holy cow this takes me back to the 90's seeing some of those older packs. Blast right back to my childhood
Huge props to Tacticus keeps sponsoring. Love the series idea - i wish that this will become a thing.
Awesome new format and series. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this and hoping you might come stateside. Just saying, I have a huge room that is prepped with plenty of boxes if you need somewhere to start.
19:06 random murloc noises out of nowhere
wondering if anyone else heard it lol
it was albin's phone notifications haha
Haha it fit so well with ”no, no, no, yes” and ”I cant help myself with the nurgle stuff”😂
I can actually relate sooo much 😂
how many miniatures do you have in your pile?
If it’s still in box, you can probably sell it for a little less than you bought it, at minus shipping.
Lmao wow.
Check if your country has an active FB group for this, most stuff seems to get sold in a matter of minutes on mine
I love how relatable this is on a personal level. You start out young with lots of time and no disposable income, as life picks up you start having more disposable income but less time, your hobby becomes a collection gathered over many years hidden away.
Bro is the number one customer
I loved this episode of Hobby Hoarders! If you want to shoot an episode on Northern Ontario someday, I have been stacking up boxes since the 90's, and could use some help!
On a side note, I got pneumonia about 20 years ago, and missed a few days of work. I stayed home and painted 1,000 points of Imperial Guard. Pneumonia must hit harder in Sweden than it does in Canada.
He has more minis than my local hobby store stocks, two or three times over.
I just realized I'm only 4 months into the hobby and I'm already turning into this guy with about 50-60 minis on my backlog that aren't neither built nor painted. And I already have a few more in the shopping carts of different online stores waiting to be ordered. I need to rethink my situation, clearly.
I love content like this it's wholesome and cool to see. Not only helping people in the community but just meeting people so awesome
Great video! Love the combination of go exploring in someone’s collection, the social side of it with chatting and getting to know the guy a bit and then painting. More please. 🤗
This guy doesn't need help catching up on painting, he needs help figuring out what he's actually going to use and what he can sell.
Exactly. It’s like finding an alcoholic and sitting with him to “help him” with his drinking.

the pure joy i see in all your eyes is something you dont see on youtube everyday ! that was amazing to watch, i am a sucker for a model kit, i get half way through then it gets put to the side and never finished :(
Is there a "Stop Collecting box"?
Now that’s a novel idea. 😂
Yes, it's called a coffin.
Got me there 😆
You really brought that army to life.
At the final presentation I was imagining those bugs come stomping and crashing through the forest to devour their biomass...
Hearing them coming... Trying to keep my hands from shivering, gripping my rifle... Knowing when they finally break through... I'm dead
Crazy frightening. Loved it ❤🎉
I'm a bit undecided on this video.
Stumbled across this video today and was completely blown away. Honestly love what you've done here. This makes me want to start my Warhammer journey.
Very nice job as always. I really apreciated when the other guys behind your project came in and helped. It was nice to see the other guys that are part of Squidmar. And I am also wishing Lukas to get better soon.
7:50 Lukas foreshadowing.... Stop with the cookies, start taking some vitamins, let's boost that immune system!
Lukas becomes bird @ 7:18
The paint scheme for the Tyranids, is incredible... Loving the green and orange.
This really isn’t a feel good story. This is like watching an episode of hoarders
I came to say the same thing, but I suppose if 'collecting' isn't having an impact on health, social, or finances it's not an issue? It didn't feel good though, you're right.
It really is. Someone who just keeps buying stuff rather than build, paint, and play with them... something else is going on there.
When I was in my final year of Uni I was pretty stressed and unhappy, ended up buying Skaven and Imperial Guard to just have, never painted or played a game with it, definitely was a coping mechanism and not a healthy one
yhea, i felt that too watching this.
Here's an updoot for you. I like the idea of getting backlogs painted and to the table, but them joking about buying more while his stuff was getting painted by other people fell really flat for me.
Fantastic looking Nids!! 🔥🔥🔥❤️
You guys have to stop thinking Swedish and assume all the bad things that can possibly happen!!
Yeah he definitely has the "no don't throw that away I might need it later" mentality, poor guy
I agree. He must have a lot of disposable income to have that lot and still going at at it.
Exactly.
you sound extremely bitter, considering you're not paying for the content
@@TehSawnderz I read my comment again after 2 weeks and I think it's a totally reasonable piece of feedback.

Amazing work and a fantastic idea! As someone who is just getting into the hobby, it's both inspiring and intimidating seeing such a well painted army. I can only hope to achieve this level of quality. Bravo gentlemen 👏👏
Not to sound like that guy, but I think a better idea would be videos helping these people deal with their obvious retail shopping addiction. It's a real thing.. I don't know just throwing it out there
Yeah I agree with you, this is just hoarding. Owning multiple of the same kit is just insane to me. Like yeah I get it if you’re filling out infantry but really you don’t need 4 dominion boxes etc… guy has an actually problem. Christ knows what we does for a living to support buying all this.
@rupertjones5197 Oh 100% man. Everyone has a back log of whatever hobby they are into models/video games etc etc but there's a huge difference between a backlog and a mental sickness.
A "does this spark joy" style of video for warhammer models might be super Interesting and helpful for others. Just my opinion!
@@justtom2504 I’m on the same page as you man, this gentleman needs help. It’s kinda sad too because I know out there they’ll be someone who wants a specific kit from the 90s or whatever that they could never afford as a kid and more than likely this guy or others has got 5 of them gathering dust in a corner somewhere and he’d never sell them even if he found them. We all have a pile of shame but this is on another level!! Honestly I would love to know what we does for a living. Man must be minted
@@justtom2504 like years ago and had maybe 160/180 vostroyans, I never got round to painting them as I picked up another hobby. Sold them to a dude in the states and he was over moon happy. Honestly as long as he limits himself and has enough disposable income for necessities and other quality of life things, I think he's doing fine. He clearly enjoys having the stuff
Not really into Warty K, but you smashed it out the park with this army! Great effort guys to make this fella's Christmas very special indeed! Boy Howdy! What a collection he had too! Merry Christmas from Texas!🍻
Im so glad i never developed the collecting/hoarding gene. Just looking at that room gives me anxiety.
It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time.
His house looks pretty tidy though, so it looks under control (almost).
Now this is a series! I realy had to rethink the way I paint to cut down time and help get my backlog down. I try and do everything in as few colors as possible. Less thinking, more painting!
Bro is a legit hoarder, evrn bought more stuff while you were painting, seems a bit disrespectful
Can’t help but agree with you, also when do you stop being a miniature collector and become a hoarder?
@@iluvfionaleggate I'd say at the point where your "backlog" doesn't have a realistic end date.
@@iluvfionaleggate Just impulsively buying the boxes with no need or realistic intent to use the contents.
I might be half remembering this...but you definitely couldn't show up to an official tournament unpainted, and we adopted the same rule in our casual group...they only had to be based coated, at a push, but it was good motivation to get them done.
you could make a full series just painting this guys collection. and i would watch every minute of it.
The concept is great but I’d much prefer to see you painting army’s for community groups or perhaps audience members that are less mobile/capable rather than somebody who’s hoarding €100k+ worth of warhammer that they’ll never bother painting and could afford to have them pro painted if they just moved on a corner of the room.
awww much love for that comment! i'm disabled with chronic health conditions so i appreciate that someone is looking out for us 😃
Think this is an obvious point but this video was done to do something nice for Emil’s friend, in the future your idea is brilliant tho
I rarely judge other's hobby preferences, but this is just... obscene.
probably one of the coolest paint schemes and theme, that ive seen on a tyranids army. the final product was exceptionally awesome.
Appreciate it 🥳
Great job on this heroic intervention, but I must shatter your illusion: this is NOT the worst you've seen.
Maybe you have to send us a video and show more ;) production AT squidmar.com
16:44 what a couple of awesome dudes you are, love that tyranid scheme... I could not achieve that much in months, let alone a few days. Incredible
First video I couldn’t finish. This man needs help and not with paining his minis - sorry guys.
This is hoarder and addiction behavior. He needs help, not encouragement.
The content variety you guys have is phenomenal
I'm lucky i don't have enough physical space in my apartment to have much of a backlog

It works for you because you have this arch-rival to compete against, this dark entity you call "wife."
Great job Emil! Fun seeing the LOTR pinball machine in the background as well 🎉
I think having that amount of miniatures in boxes is more than just a backlog problem but also perhaps a full on hoarding problem.
never understood the patience in painting these figures but the result always look fantastic. not gonna lie 🙂 id love to have just a couple of them in my home.
FIRST!!! im new to warhammer ty for getting me into this hobby
Alvin sounds like a great friend for Emil picking up all the extra miniatures.
When does “hobbying” become “collecting”, and when does “collecting” become “hoarding”?
Probably in your early life, pre-teens. Usually caused by some major childhood trauma.
This is such a great channel. People both behind and in front of the camera are killing it!
It is wild how similar that paint scheme is to my own Nids, even the martian coloured bases.
Stunning army, Emil, and what a good cause and gesture. Hope you feel better, Lucas!
I appreciate you lending your time to help another Warhammer fan build and paint his models, reducing his backlog. I need to get off my fanny to build my Horus Heresy armies. Get well soon, Lucas. Happy Holidays to you all.❤❤😊
yeah, i can relate. me brother passed away unexpedidly a couple years ago and i inhierited all his warhammer, game of thrones and dungeons and dragons minisatures and terrain sets. omfg ill never have time to assemble them all. its crazy
Probably a good idea to sell some of it, perhaps the game you’re least interested in. Not easy but
it’ll be therapeutic.
Great work guys!!! Awesome addition to the community and his personal collection!
I loved the idea of the series. You should try and get them to be in the workshop with yourself for a couple of days to get them to also work on their army
Hope Lukas gets to feeling better. Awesome to see the team coming together to help out!
This one hits home. This is my favorite, nicest thing you've done for someone else. So cool.
I suspect the nicest thing they could’ve done was help him sort and sell some of the hoard. Gotta break the habit of endless buying.
@sirrathersplendid4825
Painting it was much nicer. It's sorted now because it's painted lol. He can sell it if he likes. It's probably worth more now. This was much more wholesome too.
