For anyone saying this thing sucks for gaming i want to say that if you travel for a living and cant reliably game on hotel wifi like me this thing is worth it especially if you can get access to a business account with unlimited data its completely worth it
The thing is, there are a lot of phone networks that limit the data usage of mobile hotspot. You can have a fast hotspot but limited for a few days of usage
I'm running an M6 Pro at home with four Eero 6e expanders for both my Ring camera-system and my household devices (20-30 devices total, 2000 square foot home, lots of walls). I'm noticing that both the camera on my front steps and the one at the back of my home struggle with getting a strong signal, and I'm thinking of buying either the Mimo or Falcon antennas for the Nighthawk in order to strengthen the signal even more. I'm going to be running a nine-camera Ring system on this network by tomorrow, but I want to know if it makes sense to add an antenna when I already have an Eero mesh. Please advise, thanks!
I mean, its a mobile hotspot and you guys are using it like a fixed device. Does it still have these challenges when you’re using it mobile with 2-3 devices connected? Asking seriously, I want one but am concerned about the overheat..
Will this use "data" or "Hotspot" when you plug in your SIM card? I have a plan with unlimited data but not hotspot so I need to know which is actually being used. Don't want to make the $700 investment if it'll use my 3gb of hotspot and then throttle me. I'm moving around constantly with my laptop and need something that will always be there and not worry about being throttled.
I want to be able to use my rogers sim card (canada) plug it into the M6 router, then use an ethernet cable to connect from the M6 to my ipad. No wifi. Is this scenario possiblle with the nighthawk M6 ? Please let me know !!!!! Thank you !
I would like to see a "SET UP" video showing you using this as backup Internet, on your current network. I have been searching for a video explaining how to do it, but haven't found one yet. Thanks.
Can you do a review of this hotspot vs a mobile hotspot connection on a 5g phone? I'm failing to understand how this is even necessary unless you either get more throughput or convenience so that you don't need to waste battery on phone by browsing the hotspot
usually, people who need to do work on a laptop and travel abroad and everywhere. on a cell phone is not always the best option. A lot of Digital nomads use those router
Its excellent when it comes to gaming in stationary environments. However it sucks when you are backpacking as it will overheat and drain. Get a cheap Tenda hotspot for this.
So my mum was given this option instead of a regular broadband home modem, she needs wifi in her home to connect to her security camera. I set the camera up originally using her mobile hotspot to check it all works, but of course when she leaves home the camera wont work. Will this be useful for just that. Im only ever famikiar with actual standard 5G modems, not these things
Thinking of using this to stream live to youtube. I usually stream in my downtown area straight from my mobile device- i get bad lags i thinks because of the traffic. If i get this, will it be better network quality? Or same quality as if streaming from my cell phone?
Notice he didn'tt reply? I saw anovice Youtuner accidentally show the full speedtest--- 167Mb/sec down / .06 Mb/sec up. No, you cannot use this device to stream to TH-cam.
Question, I have a cabin about 1200 sqft. that I want to setup a four camera blink system for 2 weeks, is a hotspot device a option for a camera system?
Been thinking about purchasing one. I was going to direct power it via the outlet and pop the battery in when needed. Does the unit need a reboot when changing power source?
I know absolutely NOTHING about tech. Here’s my situation and question. I hope you can help me :) I drive a lot in rural areas and tend to lose my GPS signal Often. Would this work to connect my iphone and keep from losing my GPS signal? Thank you!
I just have question hopefully you help me with that , I only use 2-3 devices should I get the m6 with Wi-Fi 6e or Wi-Fi 6 ?! Because honestly I am clueless on this thing
hi thanks ? i have a this router and 72GB plan Ive used it for Bout 8hours laptop only and iys reading i have already used 50% @42GB that cant be right can it I only bought it Firday
I am interested in this but I have no idea how sim/esim/nano sims work, where/how to buy, how to setup, or anything really pertaining to sim cards. I am in the hotel situation. I'll be here for like 4-6 months and their wifi sucks.
Thanks for such a beautiful informations and unboxing 🤝🏻 Did u think is a negeater router for home and travel is good !? And it's important to get 5g instead of 4g? I need one for my work .
So I actually have this device. My problem is that it seems you can either use the WiFe or the eathernet. It wont let me use both. Do you know how to do that?
Josh, Is it possible to use ethernet port to connect a mesh wifi network (e.g. Deco or Orbi) to the M6 or M6Pro in a home where the only ISP is via phone line?
Yes, I believe you can use it as a modem for other wifi networks. But I haven't tested that specific situation out myself. If you try it, def make sure you buy the router from a retailer with a decent return policy in case it doesn't end up working. - Josh
Hello. Is it also possible to charge the device with a power bank or have it in operation even though it is still charging? For me as a live streamer this is important. Thanks
Hi I live in the uk and I use a 4g o2 network at the moment and have a router with two out side Aerials but the speed is about 10 to 25meg with the System you are talking about can I connect to aerials to this device for better coverage from the Cell Tower and get better speed from this Device using it as a home network thanks mark
I work on a ship which is distant from cell service at times and this has been the best router as far as signal and you can connect external antennas for cell signal and pair a repeater to boost the WiFi.
im having nothing but issues idk if anyone else is but im on my second one they just keep over heating hitting 62c on a normal day and just so slow and stated to randomly just turn it self off man i goner have to take it back and be on my 3rd one
Using it for the whole home. Only option for Wi-Fi for Our area. Gets hot and runs out fast when unplugged. Caution symbol all the time. So gets hot when plugged up long term.
How to do I upgrade the strength of WiFi for it? I have it I’m in the mountains and I would like the WiFi to get stronger if I can? Any extensions I can buy?
If I'm reading this right, it looks like the primary difference is that the M6 Pro has access to mmWave. mmWave is good for insane speeds, but is very rare to find if you aren't in a massive city. You are likely better off just sticking with the standard M6 over the Pro because in most situations not in a major city, you won't be benefiting from mmWave anyways.
I have been using this mobile device for sometime now. Over 5g the Nighthawk regular provides 350 Gbits per second which means downloads are a breeze. The management facilities are fairly comprehensive providing configurations to suit stationary and on the go configurations. The unit has an option to plug-in two antennas to improve range and reception if needed. In operation the unit gets noticeably warm so it’s not a good idea to leave tucked away in the bottom of your backpack for example. Question, did the video creator use the NightHawk or just take a quick look at a review unit ?
False! There is no any unlimited plan for data devices in the US. All plans have limitations and they are not even close efficient. So, this device is absolutely useless. I have it, and the best thing I can do with it is to resell
This is Not worth the money £900 then your monthly payments to a carrier and you’d be lucky to even find 5G networks in uk. Just use an android phone as a modem and save yourself a load of cash
Will this work in in the middle of nowhere. I’m deploying to Poland and I wanna bring my PlayStation. If I buy this will I be able to play still if there’s not gonna be any wifi?
Yo i need something for my PS5. All i do is play games and watch music videos on youtube. I dont want some weirdo walking in my home to install a modem so id prefer this. Plus im rarely home......
