What's the Michael Jackson thing you guys forgot to point out the fact that the guy that made the documentary saying that he was a pedophile admitted that he faked it all
Iron Maiden, David Bowie, Red Hot Chili Peppers but in this case was for their album covers so not really that fall from grace 🎉 The same can't be say about R Kelly, Gary Glitter and Phil Spector 😮
Why did you guys choose this pic for the thumbnail? To humiliate him again? This picture only looks weird because of the old quality. If you see pictures of him from the same time (in high quality) he just looked good. Also if you search on google: "most beautiful smile in the world" MJ also shows up.
Sinead O'Connor tearing up the popes picture proved she was right by all the backlash. Also Janet Jackson did not deserve all the hate she got. Justin was unscathed and he didn't try to come to Janet's aid and take any blame for the mishap.
I watched Sinead O'Connor tear the pope's picture in half and wondered why she did so. which led me to finding out what certain priests had been doing for decades. As far as I'm concerned, she did the world a huge favor that night.
Hot take, She deserves an apology from NBC and Lorren Michaels after what was uncovered about the church. It won't happen but she deserves it to honor her memory.
@@makslesniewskithere is no change because there are a lot of people like us. We don't care about such things. It doesn't affect us. "Funny" how American media completely ignored the church raping children for decades while they were eager to destroy Sinead O'Connor's career for ripping a picture of someone who was hushing up those rapes.
That's a lot of her time and money in those songs, and she's the one that earned the money and rights to them, not the record company. I have never even heard her music, but I know the music industry, and I think she was in the right about that.
It's so infuriating that Justin Timberlake was the one who grabbed her outfit and exposed her breast yet Janet was the one who had her career damaged and had to answer for it.
It was all planned. I don’t know a lot of women who put stickers on their nipples under their clothes unless they plan on showing it. It was a publicity stunt that backfired that’s all there is to it.
@@buddefreitas8945Yes, and I am sure she is the one who orchestrated it - not him. She may have even told him she would be more covered than that when he ripped it off.
It's unfair. Dixie Chicks and Sinead have been proved right by history but their careers were damaged. Janet gets the blame while Justin doesn't. The Milli Vanilli guys got all the blame and not those who hired them to fake it. Also, you forgot Ian Watkins's crimes but maybe he's best forgotten.
Yeah about the milli lip synch scandal. Lip synching was a big thing in the 70s I mean the band Boney M did it and back then people didn't care because it was a normal thing in the music industry so a lot of big music companies went with it but by the time the 90s came round it had fallen out of style.
On Milli Vanilli...record companies justify their control (and profits) over artists' work by claiming they (the company) are doing most of the work in producing, marketing, distributing, etc. Yet Milli Vanilli were the only ones punished? I would be surprised if the lip synching was MV's decision. The real scandal is that no one blamed the company.
ALL the so-called "scandals" involving women are about controlling their own sexuality, control their own wealth and property, telling the truth about corrupt politicians, and reporting sexual abuse perpetrated by males. NONE involved ANY "wrongdoing" on the part of the women.
Well. Even if what the Catholic Church did right there was utterly deplorable and unholy (actions that I thoroughly disapprove as a Catholic myself), Sinnead should have thought twice and not go too far if she wanted to prove her point.
What Michael went through as a result of those allegations was utterly insane. Had he been guilty, then yes- have at him. But he wasn't. And he was treated like a pariah. My heart breaks for him- and his family, especially his kids- whenever those allegations are brought up. I think people forget that behind the all the music and performance and celebrity, there was an actual human being there. Those allegations literally destroyed him. I appreciate you remaining neutral on this topic, WatchMojo, however it was a bit unnerving that you mentioned when others were guilty or did time in prison, but you didn't mention that Michael had been found innocent in 2005. I understand the time was limited, but if you had time to mention others' guilt, or Judas Priest's innocence... then why not mention Michael's innocence?
@@AfricanBin The answer to that very involved, but the long and short of it is 1) because it was a settlement, not a payoff. Payoffs and settlements are two very different things. At least in this case they were. And 2) he settled because he literally had no choice. His back was against the wall legally, and had he not settled, he would have been forced to give a deposition in the civil case, which would have violated his Constitutional right to a fair trial. So basically, his Constitutional rights were being violated, and in order to prevent that from happening, so the criminal trial would be fair, he had no choice but to settle to civil case. Which, by the way, that is what was settled. He didn't settle the criminal case, because you can't do that, it's against the law. It's called obstruction of justice if you attempt to pay off any witnesses in a criminal trial. You can learn more about it in this clip: youtube(dot)com/watch?v=wfDegD8gYvk - this clip, just over 3 minutes, perfectly explains (better than I can) the difference between a criminal case and a civil case, and explains how his rights were being violated and why he settled. There's more, but that's the simple response. If you want to learn more, you can watch the whole documentary, Square One, here: youtube(dot)com/watch?v=ZxNDb2PVcoM
@@AfricanBin Also, he only ever settled with one family- the Chandlers. He never settled with anybody else. Arvizo's were a trial in 2005, and Michael was found not guilty on all 14 counts, and then he was deceased by the time the two most recent accusers came out with their allegation. They have tried to sue the Estate though, to no avail. Their cases have been tossed out a combined total of 11 times. Once you start looking into the backgrounds of all the accusers and you understand their histories and their motives a bit better, the real story begins to unfold. But very few people- outside of Michael's family and fan base, ever take the time to do that, and they just run with tabloid and clickbait headlines without doing any real research. Hopefully this helped answer your question. If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask. I've been studying these allegations for 10 years and there's little that I don't know or can't provide an answer to.
@@AfricanBin Let me ask you this. If MJ was guilty why did Evan Chandler admit he was doing this more for money than for justice for his son? He admitted that to David Schwartz over the phone. He also demanded MJ give him the rights to write a screenplay based on the allegations during the settlement, because Evan Chandler was losing money and hadn't worked in screen writing anything successful in decades.

It's funny how people will complain about people's "sensitivity" nowadays, but just straight up forget that decades before, a man gyrating on TV made people mad.
You should look up how whites in the 1950s freaked about their white kids listening to "race records", trying to have Black artists and Rock music banned. "Mong_elization of the races" (with an "r" in there) was the commonly used term by racist mouthbreathers.

They definitely deserve recognition for the their fight for the first amendment. Some might not have agreed with their stance of what protected speech was. I agree with them and believe that freedom of speech is most important for the things we disagree with or don't want to hear ourselves. The InfoWars appearance is all you need to know about how far Ye has fallen; he was on a panel with Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes and they were telling _him_ to tone it down.
Goofy ass clout chasers thinking that their undying support of him is going to lead to some kind of personal relationship with him.. literally just delusion. I got into an argument with this woman on Twitter several years ago who was DEFENDING him after he smashed that poor girls face to pieces. So freakin sad. Thats when i realized there was no reaching these people. They are as sick as he is.
Keefe D has said he was involved for years. He also has said that Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs was the one that paid him to do it and never paid him the money. It I bet Sean will never have to pay for his crimes which is complete crap!
The allegations against Michael Jackson are a tough one. His behavior is questionable and bizarre at best. He comes across as this kind, eccentric, traumatized man-child who is desperate for a connection with his own inner child. He goes about this by “just loving children.” This is a grown man. Completely inappropriate. He was never convicted and he will always be the king of pop, but his interactions with children will always be questionable and disturbing.
I look at it this way, about the Michael Jackson allegations, he's dead, and he isn't coming back, so the people who come out and say he did stuff to them need to just leave him alone... Cause again he's dead, gone, and not going just crawl out of a grave and stand trial. But that's just my two cents on the matter
They're only after money. Had the MJ Estate hired Wade as the lead choreographer to the Vegas show, these allegations never would have come about. Also, James Safechuck never would have joined the lawsuit had his family not been hit with a $24 million dollar lawsuit less than 7 days before he joined Wade. The original 1993 accuser (which was Evan Chandler, the father; not the son, Jordan. Despite what gets told, Jordan never accused Michael and in fact, defended Michael, fervently) also tried to extort $20 million dollars from Michael, and when Michael refused to play ball, he suddenly came out with the allegations. In a book he (Evan) & his brother (Ray) wrote a decade later, he literally admits "Had Michael paid the twenty million dollars demanded of him in August, rather than the following January, he might have spent the next ten years as the world’s most famous entertainer, instead of the world’s most infamous child molester." Once you start looking at the accusers' backgrounds and their motives, you start to get a sense of what's really going on here. Everybody was just after money. Even the 2005 accusers. Every single accusation was an attempt at a money grab and nothing more.
@@iamPinga Those who accused Michael did so, knowing full well Michael never abused them- or their children. Every single allegation was false. Michael never sexually assaulted anyone. So yes, people do just need to leave the man alone, and let him finally rest in peace.
You forgot to say false accusations against Michael Jackson and he was found innocent in 2005, why did you forget to say something that important Watchmojo?
Rihanna did not deserved to be hurt. While she and Chris were in his Lamborghini, they were arguing. She started hitting him in face and body. He stopped his car, she grabbed the keys out of it and threw them out the car. This does not justify Chris's actions. This was what caused him to hit her.
You should've also mentioned how Frank Farian got off unscathed from the Milli Vanilli scandal while Rob and Fabrice's were destroyed. Farian dangled the carrot of fame and fortune in front of two dumb, poor club kids he used for their looks. And he had pulled the same scam before with Boney M! So, Farian is still making money off of Milli Vanilli while Rob is dead and Fabrice is surviving the best he can.
I see people still don't hold rihanna accountable for her & Chris's toxic relationship. They were abusing each other. They both should've been held accountable for that situation
I used to be a big fan of a Welsh rock band called The Lost Prophets when I was in school then the lead singer Ian Watkins got accused of charges of being a pedophile and found guilty, I won't go into the details of his crimes because its extremely messed up but I can't stand to think about how much I used to love the band and would've done anything to see them live and meet them when I was like 13
Music producers wouldn't have a career without bands, yet some artists would have a career without the Producer. The artists (who write their OWN material) and bands, they deserve the most as it is THEIR work. for the artists who don;t write their own stuff, it's technically the Producer's material. when it works well for both, thats rock n roll. Also, can you give us NEW and DIFFERENT SCANDALS!? these are the same ones. over and over again.
Evan Chandler's phone call to David Schwartz. He makes it bluntly clear that he is only doing this for his own gain. At one point a phone call he says "Once I make that phone call, this guy is going to destroy everybody in sight in any devious, nasty, cruel way that he can do it. I've given him full authority to do that ... If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever ... Michael's career will be over ... This man is going to be humiliated beyond belief. He will not believe what is going to happen to him, beyond his worst nightmares. He will not sell one more record." When asked by David how this could effect his son, the one he's claiming MJ abused. Evan said "That’s irrelevant to me. The bottom line is, yes, his mother is harming him, and Michael is harming him. I can prove that, and I will prove that. It cost me tens of thousands of dollars to get the information I got, and you know I don’t have that kind of money. I’m willing to go down financially."

U2 PUT MUSIC ON MY IPHONE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, THAT BELONGS ON THIS LIST!!!! UNFORGIVABLE!!!! I HATE YOU BONO!!!!!!!!
But that’s not against any laws. And no one seemed to be outraged when it happened
Hahaha. Bono sucks.👎
Me: How many times can they regurgitate content?
Watchmojo: YES
#MJINNOCENT 🙌🏽🩷
Wtf no Selena Quintanilla?
It's funny how people will complain about people's "sensitivity" nowadays, but just straight up forget that decades before, a man gyrating on TV made people mad.
This world or anything that matters has never or will ever care about anyone's sensitivity. Most especially in terms of social norm.
And before that, folks got triggered by where certain folks sat on busses.
Right??
The idiots complaining about "cancel culture" are usually the biggest snowflakes
You should look up how whites in the 1950s freaked about their white kids listening to "race records", trying to have Black artists and Rock music banned. "Mong_elization of the races" (with an "r" in there) was the commonly used term by racist mouthbreathers.
I feel sorry for the Chicks for all the backlash they got. They said what I'm sure a lot of Americans were thinking at the time.
They embarrassed Texas, not Bush.
Payola was going on for far longer than when rock and roll was new. The 80s, 90s, and 00s were full of it.
What about the Beattles saying they are bigger than Jesus?
how I wish Selena Quintanilla-Perez should be on this list
a rising superstar of Latino Music murdered by her own, what she call, a "friend"
Love the background music
How have I never heard of the Mud Shark incident from Led Zeppelin?!
I am going to look that up after this video 😳
One thing I like about this channel (besides the content) is that they show segments of videos from other channels and gets them noticed.
There seriously needs to be a part two of this list. Where’s Kurt Cobain? Jam Master Jay? Marvin Gaye? John Lennon?
Michael Jackson Was a Modern Day Equivalent Of a Incredible bible story my only gripe Is he could've handled his hardships a little better just saying don't crucify me for this comment
Exactly. You are very correct. They treated Michael Jackson really bad
Michael Jackson was innocent.
It’s sad how bad he was treated.
I believe he was way too nice,
and that lead to people taking advantage of him.
Yep!! Ppl used his kindness against him!! Ppl were mad a Black man was the most famous and talented person on earth! They destroyed him!!
💯
We can all thank Luther Campbell and 2 Live Crew for fighting for the artistic freedom people enjoy today. He paid the price so people can be out here rapping about pu**y, lol
They definitely deserve recognition for the their fight for the first amendment. Some might not have agreed with their stance of what protected speech was. I agree with them and believe that freedom of speech is most important for the things we disagree with or don't want to hear ourselves. If we ban the things we don't want to hear, how do we know that the next thing they ban won't be the things we want to say?
Surprised that Britney Spears’ conservatorship and subsequent fight for freedom from it wasn’t past of this countdown as well?
Sinead hands down. She deserves the biggest apology.
The InfoWars appearance is all you need to know about how far Ye has fallen; he was on a panel with Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes and they were telling _him_ to tone it down.
WatchMojo: "Top 20 Repeated Topics" should be a goer.
Michael J.. in thumbnail looks like the Joker. 😮
There are some parallels
Because of old quality, search his 1996 smile on high quality, on google pictures then it looks just normal
Type in Google: most beautiful smiles, MJ also shows up.
RIP To All The Dead 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Nice video

True Crime Recaps getting clip time! 👏👏 Go ahead Amy & Chris!
"All the crime in half the time"
The thumbnail is terrifying 🥲
Because of old quality footage.
How Chris brown still has fans blows my mind
Goofy ass clout chasers thinking that their undying support of him is going to lead to some kind of personal relationship with him..
literally just delusion.
I got into an argument with this woman on Twitter several years ago who was DEFENDING him after he smashed that poor girls face to pieces. So freakin sad.
Thats when i realized there was no reaching these people. They are as sick as he is.
Is that mj in the thumbnail ?😳
Yes
He’s too creepy as a white guy
🤭
Also search Google pictures and type in: most beautiful smile in the world, and MJ also shows up.
The picture only looks weird because of the old quality. If you see pictures of him from around the same time (in high quality) he just looked good.
I've seen scary thumbnails before.... this one is BEYOND.
It's because it's old footage.
Type in Google "most beautiful smile in the world" and Michael Jackson would also show up. But this old quality footage make it look weird.
Type in google: most beautiful smiles in the world. Michael also shows up, this footage is just bad quality.
Milli Vanilli! Too bad, Tik Tok users are doing the same thing they’re doing and still not getting canceled. They’re getting a pay day
Milli Vanelli won an award. The Tiktok folks do not. Know the difference.
If the latter win awards, then it's time to be angry.
@@pressplayulysses ---No, a couple of studio singers won the Grammy; Milli Vanilli had it publicly stripped from them.
It was only a matter of time before the Platypus bros cover was blown😅
@@pressplayulysses correct, they won, but were later stripped of their win
Keefe D has said he was involved for years. He also has said that Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs was the one that paid him to do it and never paid him the money. It I bet Sean will never have to pay for his crimes which is complete crap!
Michael Jackson's smile on the thumbnail of this video is disturbing.
Nonetheless, RIP Michael.
Because of the video quality.
The quality makes it look weird.
Still though
MJ > Prince.
The thumbnail looks so cursed
In a book he (Evan) & his brother (Ray) wrote a decade later, he literally admits "Had Michael paid the twenty million dollars demanded of him in August, rather than the following January, he might have spent the next ten years as the world’s most famous entertainer, instead of the world’s most infamous child molester."
Once you start looking at the accusers' backgrounds and their motives, you start to get a sense of what's really going on here. Everybody was just after money. Even the 2005 accusers. Every single accusation was an attempt at a money grab and nothing more.
Exactly, and they might argue that if true, his music will be tarnished. Fat chance people would stop listening to MJ’s music lmao.
🤭
If you experienced SA, I wonder if you’d feel exactly the same about the perpetrator.
💯
Janet and O’Connor were done dirty.
So they only had rumors in the MJ case. That's as ridiculous as the Elvis's Pelvis thing.
Need to put diddy on the list😂😂
I love you Micheal Jackson ❤❤❤❤
Rihanna did not deserved to be hurt. While she and Chris were in his Lamborghini, they were arguing. She started hitting him in face and body. He stopped his car, she grabbed the keys out of it and threw them out the car. This does not justify Chris's actions. This was what caused him to hit her.

bruh the thumbnail 💀
Only looks weird because of the old camera quality.
Kanye west should have his own top 20 list 🤣🤣
Honorable mention: Eminem makes music about school threats. Columbine happens a while after.
I used to be a big fan of a Welsh rock band called The Lost Prophets when I was in school then the lead singer Ian Watkins got accused of charges of being a pedophile and found guilty, I won't go into the details of his crimes because its extremely messed up but I can't stand to think about how much I used to love the band and would've done anything to see them live and meet them when I was like 13
I still want to see a Top20 version of Weirdest Music Genres.
Yeah but that hip swinging is what set in motion his iconic move
Music producers wouldn't have a career without bands, yet some artists would have a career without the Producer. The artists (who write their OWN material) and bands, they deserve the most as it is THEIR work. for the artists who don;t write their own stuff, it's technically the Producer's material. when it works well for both, thats rock n roll. Also, can you give us NEW and DIFFERENT SCANDALS!? these are the same ones. over and over again.
Evan Chandler's phone call to David Schwartz. He makes it bluntly clear that he is only doing this for his own gain. At one point a phone call he says
"Once I make that phone call, this guy is going to destroy everybody in sight in any devious, nasty, cruel way that he can do it. He will not sell one more record."
When asked by David how this could effect his son, the one he's claiming MJ abused. Evan said
"That’s irrelevant to me. The bottom line is, yes, his mother is harming him, and Michael is harming him. I can prove that, and I will prove that. It cost me tens of thousands of dollars to get the information I got, and you know I don’t have that kind of money. I’m willing to go down financially."

in the Sinead O'Conner segment when you hover over the chapter lines it says Whoopi Goldberg I'm pretty sure that's not Whoopi 🤭
Michael Jackson innocent
It's a shame that Sinead O'Connor could have been active longer and remained a female artist if not for the Pope photo ripping performance, but he chose the path that no one else would go on...Rest in peace in the sky...
When I play this it says "Whoopi Goldberg tears up picture of the pope" at the bottom. What?
Why aren’t these people getting real jail time honestly it should be more cause they are famous. Acting like they don’t know wrong from right. Why does so many victims have to come forward for there to be justice??? This is wild. Celebrities need to be held accountable to the upmost. Idk if it’s even Michael Jackson. Kids are being hurt and can’t live a normal life 😢
