For those interested in the brakes, you can buy them for basically any car. They are semi-metalic aka composite. They are the best of both worlds of ceramic and metalic brakes being durable with good heat dissipation while having high friction and heat resistance. Nearly impossible to cut them with a blow torch and very difficult with an oxy torch. Best of all they cost roughly the same as full metal or ceramic and have a long life time thanks to the ability to better handle heat degradation.
Always remember, what you can buy at the normal autoparts store won't compare to track equipment so don't expect something from Orylies or Autozone to compare to something built for the track.

Well to be fair they last for a very long time. Most likely will outlast your ownership of the car if you buy it new. We have cars well into the 200k km with ceramics that are still good to go

My theory is the discs glow purple under the camera because they dissipate so much heat as infrared light, opposed as metallic brakes that disipates it as visible light (orange/red). The camera takes the IR as purple, same as when you point your camera at a remote control's IR blaster

It's not the colour you and I would see. Try to film a lit cigarette with a phone camera during night time or in a dark room. The reason that particular colour is seen is because the camera is a lot more sensitive to that wavelength than the human eye is.

The glow is NOT pink/purple, the camera picks up infrared light which our eyes do not, it then renders it as purple. In reality the brakes would look red when glowing. Try filming the front of your tv remote, (an older one, not the new Bluetooth ones) It will blink purple through the camera but your eyes will not see it. Same thing with the breaks. Some cameras have IR filters so it might not work. Fun useless fact: Fires emit IR light, if you have a Nintendo Wii you can actually use 2 candles in front of your TV instead of the little black bar that you plug in. The black bar is just 2 IR lights that your remote tracks, so the candles can replace it and also give you a cozy feeling while playing old games!

Eh, I'm sure they're great and all but I'm not paying $15,000 just to have a set of brakes that cool down just a little bit faster. Drilled or slotted rotors is the most I'll ever need. I don't think it's worth it to buy carbon ceramic brakes, but if I was rich then of course I'd get em because why not. I'll check back when I have several million dollars and a Porsche GT2-RS with an Oyster Quartz watch on my wrist.
This actually shows just how amazing braking technology is. The brakes are so good at slowing the car down that the heat they generate makes the brakes glow, yet in a matter of seconds (most of) that heat is lost to the air!

Eh, I'm sure they're great and all but I'm not paying $15,000 just to have a set of brakes that cool down just a little bit faster. Drilled or slotted rotors is the most I'll ever need. I don't think it's worth it to buy carbon ceramic brakes, but if I was rich then of course I'd get em because why not. I'll check back when I have several million dollars and a Porsche GT2-RS with an Oyster Quartz watch on my wrist.

Props to the camera man for running near the wheels of the car just to record this insane footage at high speed.
This actually shows just how amazing braking technology is. The brakes are so good at slowing the car down that the heat they generate makes the brakes glow, yet in a matter of seconds (most of) that heat is lost to the air!
Everytime the driver applies the brake, he creates a new galaxy in this universe.
