GBO2 Hi-Nu Gundam: A melee focused Nu Gundam?!

- This video contains two matches I had with the recently released Hi Nu Gundam on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 700 cost general with great stagger ability, incredible melee ability, access to Full Attack which can boost damage by 20%, access to Flap Booster for flight ability, support funnels which effectively grants follow funnels to any ally and a really powerful Psychoframe Resonance skill which decreases ranged damage taken. Its weaknesses would be low HP, slow boosting speed before Resonance activates and the fact that it relies on keeping Full Attack activated in order to get the most from it. This suit is really fun and feels strong, but it doesn't feel overpowered either. It can do gigantic melee damage if it can time Full Attack properly and has great tools to close the distance with. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary ranged weapon is a beam rifle with 2600 (?x4) power, 75% (?x4) heat, 400m (?) range, 2.5 seconds cooldown time, 18 seconds overheat, 1 seconds focus time, 0.77 seconds swap time and 60% (25%x4) stagger value. Uncharged shots have decent stagger value and instant stagger while charged shots can break Maneuver Armor in one burst if your aim is good.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 2900 power, 2 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 70% combo modifier and 160% downswing modifier. This has seemingly low power but the excellent modifiers means that it can do very high damage. This already high damage is boosted to insane levels if you can use it while Full Attack is activated.
Its first sub weapon is a head vulcan gun with 100 power, 60 ammo, 200m range, 600 RPM, 12 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time and 6% stagger value. These are really excellent as far as vulcans go, with high DPS and the ability to stagger in just 1.7 seconds. They pair excellently with your funnels.
Its second sub weapon is a shield beam cannon with 1700 power, 80% heat, 400m range, 5 seconds cooldown, 15 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap time and 20% stagger value. This has low damage but all around great stats for an instant stagger weapon.
Its third sub weapon is a focused fire funnel with 300x6x3 power, 100% heat, 300m range, 15 seconds overheat time, 0.77 seconds swap time and 8%x6x3 stagger value. These instantly overheat but they have excellent damage and stagger value, they can even be locked on while boosting. You can use this after a downswing to activate Full Attack, leaving you with time to get two more melee swings off before they recover.
Its fourth sub weapon is a support funnel with 300x6 power, 100% heat, 450m range, 1.5 seconds cooldown, 10 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap time and 0%x6 stagger value. This can lock on to allies to give them follow funnels, they are fired by them firing their weapon. This can potentially be very powerful for your allies but it is amazing to activate Full Attack for yourself.
Its fifth sub weapon is a funnel barrier with 100% heat, 30 seconds overheat and 0.77 seconds swap time. This activates a 3000 HP barrier which blocks all forms of ranged attacks until it is destroyed or 10 seconds have passed.
The Hi Nu Gundam has 20000 HP, 30 ballistic resistance, 16 beam resistance and 32 melee resistance. It has pretty poor beam defence but this is easy to fix with custom parts. It has low HP just like the original Nu, but the defence buff from Resonance helps with this. It has both LV1 Maneuver Armor and LV3 Emergency Evasion for defensive skills.
It also has 130 (140) walking speed, 220 (230) boosting speed, 90 thrust and 78 (114) turning speed. Its mobility seems poor at first, but its great set of skills makes it much more nimble than you might think. The values in brackets comes into effect when LV2 Psychoframe Resonance activates at 50% HP, and it also has LV2 Flap Booster which allows it to rise into the air while boosting and holding the ascend button. LV4 Forced Injector and LV2 Flight Control further boosts mobility. The exact ranged damage reduction that Resonance adds is unknown, but it feels like it is about 30% reduction.
The main skill Hi Nu has to juggle is LV1 Full Attack. This boosts all damage by 20% and adds +10 walking speed while your lock on funnels are deployed. This makes your melee damage output absolutely gigantic, so don't forget to use your funnels.
Overall I feel like the Hi Nu Gundam is gonna be a pretty great option for players looking for a melee focused general at 700 cost. Its shooting ability is by no means weak but it can go on an absolute rampage in melee range if you play it right. It is probably gonna be a little difficult to get used to keeping Full Attack active by cycling your funnels, but if you do then it is almost like you have type advantage against other generals. I can definitely recommend rolling for it. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!

The amount of funnels in that first match was legitimately terrifying.
Whoever said Flap Boosters are a great idea for this thing really want to teach Raids what it's like to get hunted with no escape
Apparently BB has decided that Flap Booster goes to any suit with giant propellant tanks with verniers attached.
@scottwrathfon9872 going by that logic, they would also give flap boosters to the sinanju as well as the phenex
@@mr.abrams9885 I don't see fuel tanks on the Phenax, and as far as I know, the fuel tanks on the Sinanju don't have verniers on them.
But the Jesta A does, the Hi-Nu does, and the Xeku Zwei has six giant verniers attached to fuel tanks inside its giant butt armor. The Nightingale also seems to have them under its giant back armor.
The difference is the verniers attached to the fuel tanks. Which makes me think that the Full Armor Unicorn may be a flying support, raining down missiles and Gatling shields, lol.
@@scottwrathfon9872man but unicorns get released on anniv so its gonna take year for fullarmor Unicron to come
@@Meteorknite Likely, though it seems like Banshee Norn might release sooner through some datamining stuff.
Though other units found include Rozen Zulu, Full Armor ZZ (it's the EZZ in the perfected equipment from the FAZZ), and HWS Nu that'd be at 700 during the next 6ish months (usually a 4* every 8 weeks and on special occasions like anniversary, Christmas (perhaps where we get the Norn), Halloween, and that really sneaky 10-year franchise anniversary just a month before the actual anniversary last year.
It looks like the buffs to Hamma Hamma and FAZZ, along with other new weapons and skills, may be tests for these units. We know a lot about the Rozen Zulu from datamining and easy speculation from what it has technically and how the Hamma Hamma, the unit it's mostly based off of, works.
It will have funnels that stop or pause NT-D (not Awakened mode), cause Psyco Jack, and deal damage in intervals within a certain area (this data was found). The shield has an I-field, which will probably work while charging or passively like the Unicorn's. Almost definitely has good melee and combo controller. Almost definitely has an improved versions of Hamma Hamma incoms. It has a stronger gun in the hands that is similar to Hamma², though they may turn it into something that charges or fires differently. It could have a second melee with the claws, like the new Claw on Woundwort. And it is also made with spare Sinanju parts, so it's likely fast for a Support and has a Resonance ability of some sort. Very likely to end up as a strong aggressive support.
We also know that the Escort Jegan from NT is coming as a Support, though it only had a machine gun in the movie, so it's likely to be like the Gustav Karl where BB added a lot of basic Federation weapons and unique skills. Metal Spider is confirmed, which is probably a 450-500 raid that has two wire weapons; one with a grenade attached, and the other with a pile bunker. MP Nu is confirmed, though nothing about what it does. Same goes for a few others in forgetting off the top of my head.
These leaks usually pop up on Facebook groups and Discord servers.
I kinda wish it had access to the arm gatling too
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. We're also missing the shield missles, as well.
watch us get a raid version that looks like the Real Grade
Yeah 😢 I'm fan of those arm/shield weapon
@@juker4354 i use those shield missles all the time on the ff nu. Feels weird not having them on hi nu
Still I kinda like they took the effort in making their own iteration of the Hi Nu, it's also somewhat consistent being that each new Hi Nu is a different design
This is a interesting turn, usually when the hi-nu and the nu gundam are in the same game, the nu gundam is usually the more melee oriented one while the hi-nu is a mid ranged powerhouse. But it seems in this game they went for the opposite approach and I find that interesting
Hrimfaxi is an interesting theme for this.
The superior poke of death
Besides from that, I am hoping that I can get my hands on the Hi-nu gundam
On the last Nu video I remarked what a monster the Hi Nu could be. This is certainly meets my expectations. Full Attack aside, Flap Booster enabling constant aggression is what I feel pushes the Hi Nu into a class all its own. We've seen it before, but never on a suit like this.
The Phenex is far from dead, but I feel like it's been dethroned as King of the Generals.
Excellent work! Now we just need a space battle where the Hi-Nu really looks its best, with all of those massive thrusters and those funnels.
The entire game is just funnels now
You get funnels! You get funnels! Everybody gets funnels!!!
Here’s to hoping we’re getting the Nu mpt soon
Just got this gundam . More deadly than standard nu gundam i think
That allied supporting fire at the end was astonishingly bad... at least 3 friendlies were in the potential splash zone.
eh you can see where its coming from. they stayed in the area lol
the hi-nu's movement looks pretty fun, looking forward to it and the nightingale on PC whenever that happens
I got mine yesterday and im so stoked in trying it out
Definitely will help turn the tide with 700 cost matches (hopefully)
the Hi Nu just made the Nu Gundam obsolete lol i wonder which one is better between the Hi Nu and the Phenex.
phenex
Looks nuts how the funnels can just hover over it like that. Crazy suit. I like.
So those are actually support funnels from a different ally hi-nu. The hi-nu doesn't have follow funnels unfortunately.
@@brandonspencer6834 Oh wow. Thanks for informing me. I’d never even heard of that. Sounds pretty neat also.
Hurts me to see both the shield missiles and the arm gatling modeled on but unusable. Makes me think this this suit was rushed in development.
Kshatriya can't use her sub arms. Or surprisingly funnel clouds. Like qubeley. Even though it's like it's staple way of attacking
There's a limit of 8 weapons, including a shield, to a mobile suit. Alternative weapons only come out when you transform in some way.
BB seems to have made the choice to make Hi-Nu a more melee focused general with a funnel theme, than add more shooting equipment that the original Nu mostly has, and excels with in combat.
Mostly just game-design choices, along with the weapons being a limit installed into the game from when it was likely assumed it wouldn't have the success it has now.
It's less about actual limits and more about spreading it's damage over too many weapons
There are plenty of other units that aren't able to use everything because of that like the FA 7th and doven wolf
However there are actual examples of bb just cutting weapons like the ga zowmns arm vulcans
PLEASE do Kshatriya next. Then kampfer. Will you also be kind enough to show off the defense mode level 2?
Please and thanks
I didn't know it flies on Ground maps like the GPO3! 😮
I need a team of Gundam Mark 2s and a Zaku sniper and stuff of that nature to take out a team with this thing and a Phenex on it together. That would be exciting to watch.
That Asshimar just like a donut in the French Fries field
The axe combat scinfaxi theme was top tear
really a killer suit
The counter at 10:04 oh man. Talk about Newtype flash lol, and then you just glide over him with the saber and dip. I can always expect clean plays from these videos.
What about the bazooka and the extra ability it gives?
What is your opinion on that?
It's alright but I think the beam rifle is better cause of the low heat and swap time. It flows better with the kit for restunning after funnels or vulcans. The bazooka is still good but the velocity on it is pretty slow.
4 guys tried but u managed to get away..😂
I am 100% saving for this on PC
so ready to roll for this when august hits. melee Nu with MA and cracked build stun? Nu ff was training me for this
700 cost has become such a cluster of weaponized kazoos and pinwheels strapped to every suit that I just want to stick with 300-600 costs now
The kazoos description killed me.
I’m in some dangerous love with this suit 10 seconds until the w round ended I just got done being stunned enemy right in front of me 3 seconds left don’t worry lance got the kill before the timer.I love this down swing
A bit surprised they didnt add 750 yet, but another bit of me thinks it wont ever be that, Have no idea what Full Armor Unicorn would be, guessing a 700 Support maybe with Ground capabilities
That lone Asshimar… RIP
I'm so close to getting it!
I'm only on step 6 but I need 60+ tokens to get the full 7 step!
that was quick
The poor Asshimar on the first match :(
Please come to PC 😭😭. I'll be saving my tokens for Hi-Nu or Nightingale.
Welp i learned my lesson. i have been using this suit wrong. I need to use funnels as much as i can so i can melee more
i wonder can you use the 90mm gun on Hi-nu arm.
My only question is how many funnels can you lock on to a teammate before its to much.
Just one set at a time’s one thing I learn is use your volcans when you have support funnel’s over you cause it maximize your stuns and damage with continuous fire as long as your shooting which is a nice touch
So
many
FUNNELS
I see at least 1 person who is a fan of Zone of the Enders and/or Anubis.
Not sure about the colors on one in the second match.
What's your controller button layout?
Default controller layout. I use claw grip.
Some clown said that this was gonna be a support, made me waste my coin on other sht.
I got like 60 free tokens for anniversary
Me, who was about to complain that the PC version isnt getting that much love for the 5th anniversary: sees 0:58
Me that: *on a second note...*
Everywhere, Hi-Nu everywhere 😅
It's everything I wanted and more 😢
Would you choose Br or BZ?
BR personally since it swaps faster, but the bazooka is good vs Sinanju and Sazabi.
get knocked down and the raid that did it says they're fine LOL
9:34 nice dude exploit dodging in order to avoid getting farmed, truly a skillful player :DDDD
Noob here. I notice you are flying. How to do that?
Some suits have a skill called Flap Booster. This allows you to rise into the air if you hold the jump button while boosting, but this consumes more thrust than usual.
Spent like 100 tokens and sadly didn't get it 😢
Just need 30 tokens more and i will have it
Man I'm trying so fucking hard to get a good match with this thing but all the teams at 700 I've gotten have been abysmal
0:57 look at this funnel shit show lmao
700 matches should be changed to NEWTYPE MAGIC ONLY
I don’t even want HiNu!! I just want to get Sinanju!! Hope I get one today!
meanwhile pc aniversary suit.......
Most useless touch pad move?!?
had like 40 rolls in total but didn’t get it unfortunately . got the banshee , rick dijeh , FA gundam MK-III and Jegan heavy equipment type though 🥲 was also hoping to get the delta plus
Downswings galore man. Im gonna try a ranged build and see how much damage i cam squeeze outta the rush funnels. So far the damage is pretty low. Stun isnt bad though.
