Do what Ryu is doing, starting with 1 life. And No Skips. He made it to Super Expert halfway through. Start with 1 life, and you keep what ever you earn.
Yeah, that "you keep the lives you earn" line is well worth the drawbacks of the other stipulations. 👍
I was actually Just about to mention this! Ryukahr only tried this challenge 2 times as far as what I can tell, and unfortunately, came short of victory both times, but could DGR Dave perhaps be victorious at such a feat?

21:27 - it's a very famous Japanese comedian Shinya Arino (known as Arino Kacho), who's the host of GameCenter CX. It's kinda like a letsplay TV show that is almost 20 years old. Some say that Arino Kacho is the first letsplayer of mainstream media. TV Show have 351 episodes. Most of them are typical challenges to beat a hard game like a Japanese SMB2, Ninja Ryukenden, Battletoads, Punch-out and others (most of them Arino didn't beat because his skills are below average), but some are special, like when Arino went to USA to meet American fans in Los Angeles back in 2011 (the show was broadcasted in US as Retro Game Master), his trip to Russia in 2019 (he was a guest on Anime & Game Music Concert in May 2019 in Moscow, but he also visited Saint Petersburg to see old Russian arcades and... to meet fans (that was totally unexpected, because nobody from the stuff thought that Kacho is known in Russia). So yeah, his a very interesting person.

Love those moments when Dave "Over thinking" on level. It gets him into trouble in most cases. And at most times he accidentally cheeses the level. And also becomes a total dork when those 2 previously mentioned doesn't even apply 😅

Congrats! I may try this myself, but probably with Super Mario Maker 2 and beating 5 levels from the 4 difficulties. That will be hard for me, since my PB on Super Expert is 3 levels...lol.
I'll probably start with No Skips, but will I will earn a Skip if I:
- Get a First Clear or World Record on any of the 20 levels I play or
- One Shot a Level (only in Expert or Super Expert level)
So I could earn a few skips or not. Sometimes I'll play where you earn a Skip around every bend in Endless, but if I'm only beating 5 levels per difficulty, that stipulation would not apply.
this reminds me of mr a game's 100 mario challenge a couple years ago. also a lot of fun!

On the topic of grilled dolphin: A lot of people will say dolphins are too smart to be eaten. To that, I'll answer that 1) yes, dolphins are smart, but they're also assholes, and 2) some of those same people probably eat octopus without feeling any guilt.
Re N64 being the golden era: Can't agree nor disagree. Like, did Nintendo ever release a bad main game for one of their primary franchises?.. Nevermind, while typing I remembered Other M.
Also, I don't really miss most of SMM1, but oh boy do I miss overlapping pipes and similar shenanigans. We need to patch that back into SMM2.
Looked up the SMM1 Costumes because I was curious, Arino KACHO (or Shinya Arino) is the name of the dude, works for GameCenter CX, also called Retro Game Master, it's a TV show it seems, and he's the host. He made three courses, which you need to beat any of to get the shroom, I'm guessing it's just a close working relationship with Nintendo or something, given the Wikipedia article for the company has the Super Famicon as the first picture/logo thing
This challenge drives me crazy. The skip usage is one thing, but I also don’t get why he bothers resetting to the right amount of lives at the start of each difficulty when it just gets messed up by one up’s. If he’s gonna do that, then he should just start over every level until he removes the one ups he gained. Or just don’t bother at all and keep track!
I know it’s minor and I’m probably silly for caring but it’s so illogical it hurts my head. Actually, that could probably be DGR’s slogan.

People who say MM1 is a better game definitely have some nostalgia in the way. I think there are a few things that were better like spike hitboxes for instance, but I cant think of too many more things, but I'm sure there are a few more.

I consider Mario Maker 1 to be altogether superior to Mario Maker 2 solely on the grounds that it works without paying a subscription, but Nintendo did a Nintendo and now you can't upload levels anymore.

Mario maker 2 would be better if they put 100 Mario and kept the endless challenge in it. Because of 100 Mario MM1 is the better content
