I show how to assemble Seville Classics Shelving. The steel shelving uses tapered sleeves to lock the shelves in place. Very easy to assemble and take apart.

Do the opposite ...take a rubber mallet...and tap...tap underneath the shelf....on the way up !!

Is it possible to split this shelf into 2 shorter shelves?

Hi I would like to use the wheels. Is hand tightening them into poles good enough or should I be using some tool to tighten. Also does it matter what pole position I install the locking wheels? I would like to put them on the 24" or short side of the shelf across from each other.

Hi, I spoke to the manufacturer and here is what they said:
Hand tightening the wheels is fine, no tools need to be used to put those on. As far as the locking wheels go, you can put them on any of the poles, usually what more accessible to you but there is no right or wrong.

Thanks, this was helpful ... esp since the MFR failed to include any assembly instructions, or even a parts inventory list.
I just assembled 4 of my 6 shelved, but i gotta call seville for a warrantee claim because the top and bottom shelves arrived bent.
Comments: Easy to assemble, and they're strong enough for my needs but there is NO WAY these shelves can handle the 800 lbs apiece that they claim.
I'm also underwhelmed by the thread length on the leveling feet, which only allows a max adjustment of upto 5mm (1/5th inch), so if your floor isnt already fairly close to level, you're SOL.
TIP: These are much cheaper to buy direct from SevilleClassics than from Amazon. My 6 tier 48w 18d 72t rack cost $189 direct (zero tax & free shipping), whereas Amazon fluctuated between $250 - 315, plus tax. Big difference.

How do you split into two shelves? The company said you can (one with wheels, one with leveling feet) however not sure how to screw it together.
