The fatality comment is interesting as deaths of professional athletes are up 60x on normal years. Why would I mention that? Henry Slade is a diabetic. All cause deaths from blood clots, heart attacks and strokes are now at record highs. We are told this is variously because of global warming, lockdown anxiety, lockdown bad diets, generalised sadness all of a sudden, etc. anything but the vaccines. Slade is a diabetic and for that reason he said he was wary of a new untrialled vaccine. Squidge has to take the mick out of him for that. Never lets his politics go. Well yes the leftie luvvies are arguing that the unjabbed should be segregated and starved (Noam Chomsky) the NIH director wants them brought to justice, Bill Gates wants them facing criminal charges and now Europe wants a two tier society with the unjabbed criminalised as a result. Into this sudden demonisation of people who are different from us wades Squidge, loving the opportunity to exhibit prejudice wherever he can. Neither irony nor awareness seem to be Squidges strong point.

Key point you picked up, Squidge. The ref will let things flow if you avoid attacking your opponent's head. As an Australia supporter, I find it incredibly frustrating that my team hasn't worked this out. We are constantly giving away penalties for attacking the head, then blaming the ref for being over-officious. It's not the ref's fault. If a replay can catch you bashing someone's head, the ref has to give at least a penalty. And the TMO does not miss many. This is down to the coach and captain. It happens too many times for it to be an accident. In these days of heightened awareness around concussion, and looming liability for serious injury, Australia is simply playing dumb rugby.

@@AgentMoray we haven’t played in so long so it’s hard to say, but I think cos the two sides play such a similar brand of rugby, all blacks will take the dub, just cos they’re the kings of running rugby. But if France changes their game plan and just does what every one else seems to do and slow the game down, then they could pull it off. This comment might make me look stupid, but we’ll see in 12 hours

Nz supporter here. Totally agree that foster and plumtree are totally devoid of any coaching ability.
The all blacks have been floating on the performances of individual players and putting second tier teams to the sword this year.
The Calibre of players in nz is extremely high but foster and plumtree’s aimless and clueless coaching are running the ship aground. This is so evident in the matches against tier one teams where the all blacks don’t seem to be able to adapt after a pressurised first half.
The biggest misfortune in all this is that fosters coaching gig was extended till post 2023 World Cup. Nz will get thrown out in the quarters and hopefully fosters head will roll and nz rugby will be forced to take the risk on Razor Robertson or force them to secure a good coach like Jamie Joseph.

Kia Ora, excellent video. I hope this gets noticed at RNZ. I gotta add i thought the ABs looked tired. Why such a long time away? FOUR MONTHS ... NZ played the RC in Oz last yr it should have been in NZ this yr. Ozzies dont go to Union anymore, the stadiums were half empty, with the ABs getting the biggest crowds. Why in Oz, arrogance from RNZ?

The most telling thing about this game for was Ireland were far from perfect and their mistakes were self inflicted, like how many points did Ireland leave behind by committing penalties on the all blacks 5 metre line ?

Excellent analysis, as always. I watched the second half with (excellent) NZ commentary - they called it straight away that the ABs (down by six) taking the penalty kick at around 70 minutes was the wrong option. They had hardly been in the Irish 22 all half. Maybe a look at on-field leadership or tactical nous that could be improved?

or drop the ball in front of the try line. Jeez. You could have gone in 20-17 up yesterday. Not having a kicker on the pitch. And the less said about Lavanini the better. Someone needs to get into his head cos he could be such a good player if he stayed on the pitch...

  • @dub_dub1504

None of this means much unless we pull out 3 performances down in New Zealand. Not saying they have to win the series, just produce credible performances in all 3 games.
If, and it's a big if, Ireland can somehow win one game down there, then we can start talking about definite performance.
Was at the game last Saturday and it was a sight to behold. The players and crowd were on another level.
    Great analysis.
