As a Springbok fan, I can tell you that the AB have this ability to break your heart in a much worse manner than your ex-wife will ever be able to. You can never think that you have won the AB even if you are 20 points ahead with 5 minutes to go. You can only say that once the end whistle have blown. This match was really entertaining. Well done to both teams
As a kiwi, we love going head to head with the Springbok 💯 Both teams have mutual respect for each other but it's what they bring to the field we love. Both fierce & everything's left on the field 💯 England done extremely well, gotta love the close games 💯 England seemed like they were celebrating the win, before the final whistle. Never underestimate your opposition until the ref blows that final whistle. Well done to both teams 👏👏👏 "GO THE ALL BLACKS!" 🎉🎉🎉🎉
They do indeed....well....at least in the olden days to us Irish. 😉 Joking aside I actually thought both sides were quite poor today. A lot of basic errors by both teams. But don't me wrong, still an absorbing test match to watch. (I even skipped my beloved Liverpool's game to watch it). Looking forward to our meeting with NZ next weekend at Landsdowne Road. After seeing their slipshop lucky win today I'm betting on us to turn them over. 😜
Wallace Sititi was impressive. He has speed with a late step, an offload, soft hands, a great pass and can tackle hard. But what equally impressive was the interview for man of the match. Well spoken and gave God the Glory. Humble Man who will be future All Black Captain.
As an interesting note, the ABs are usually.at their best with devout Christians in the team. Michael Jones, Brad Thorn, to name a couple. Not sure if it's divine intervention or just the attitude that rubs off on the other players. Humility and belief that there's something greater than yourself. The 7s team has gone to mud and they don't seem to join in prayer after games. The Boks seem to go better with a few players of belief in their ranks too.
Cracker of a game. In SA, loyalties usually go towards SH teams when playing the Northern teams, but at the end, I was cheering anything anyone did on. Loved how both teams really wanted it. Hard luck to the English, they fought valiantly.
The Haka has come from Māori Culture but it is now Rugby culture. It doesn’t matter if you are performing it, facing it or simply witnessing it, the Haka calls on more than 100 years of great rugby moments, the spirit of past champions and a call on the players of both sides (and the officials) to make new history to be celebrated by the next Haka.
Plus Haka in sports pre-date national anthems in sport by over 2 decades. The 1st national anthem sung was a spontaneous response by the Welsh to the last test of the 1905 "Originals" tour pre game Haka.
So what? The way World rugby protects it and fines other nations is ridiculous. Why do the rest of the world need to sit through the little dance before every game? Maybe do it once for the start of the series then give those of us who see it as a preference to NZ a rest. Anyway, its been ruined by overuse, so much for respecting the culture If its being done at the drop of a hat these days
@@paulhmull It's not just NZ. What about Tonga Samoa and Fiji? Do you object to their challenges? And what about national anthems? There's a whole series of events that lead up to the kickoff in any Test Match. You don't have to sit through it all. Maybe get up and make yourself a cup of tea when the Haka is on?
What a kick to convert that second Talea try! Very difficult kick for a right-footed kicker, but that boy in black is different gravy! As for Mark Talea, in the words of the late great Voice of Rugby, Bill McLaren: "he's as slippery as a baggie in a Border burn!" Two phenomenal finishes from the big man! Tough luck again on England, but they're just not ruthless enough on a consistent basis.
Great analysis again, Tim out here quietly becoming the best TH-cam rugby commentator on here- humble, true love of the game, great observations, no personal politics and absolute dedication getting those vids out there non-stop, cheers bro from Nz
I’m a kiwi and totally agree about your comments on the haka. Great response from the English and I loved seeing them get up close to one another. Spine tingling!
I agree with that, teams should be able to challenge the haka, however I believe crowds shouldn't sing through it, they should be more respectful like Japan
As a Kiwi and a die hard All Blacks fan. What a game, hard luck England you deserved to win that, but sometimes things just don't go your way, the AB's have been on the end of that stick in recent times. As far the Haka and the crowd singing, Swing Low. I absolutely love it, the crowd getting involved adds to the occasion and they have every right be get involved as they've paid hard earnt money to be there. England walking towards the half way line, once again, love it. I feel Borthwick made a mistake by taking off Smith, especially when the game was in the balance. Wallace Sititi is an absolute star in the making and the All Blacks scrum won them the game.
@@Marius_vanderLubbeAgree. If you are ahead in the last minutes of a game and cannot close it out, then you did not play intelligently or the killer instict is absent.Which means you are not champion material.
As a kiwi having watched the entire game ,when it came to the closing minutes on the final whistle I had forgotten we were leading which came to me as a pleasant surprise . A good competition , great game by both teams .
"Hey Tim! The England vs. New Zealand game was thrilling to watch. Both teams really showed up, making it an intense and closely fought match right to the end. My only disappointment was during the opening anthems. It felt a bit off-balance to have England's anthem sung live, while New Zealand’s wasn’t given the same treatment with a singer or opera. It would’ve been great to see both anthems treated equally to set the stage. Other than that, it was a solid performance all around, with both teams playing to their strengths. Some really tight, skillful plays!" Tim, again thank you for your positive feedback.
@SMacCuUladh well because of poor planning if the reason was sound system not working should have been tested... or person sick should have a back up. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal and probably not intentional but definitely careless
The ABs stepped beyond the 10 very deliberately. Definitely DO take that as a direct response to Joe Marler's comment. They will be fined. Those are the rules and we broke them. The message is 'The distance imposed between teams is not our doing, we welcome a nose to nose challenge. Bring it on!'. England defence was superb. Hats off to the whole team. I thought we were going to see the scoreline the other way around, I'll admit it. Delighted with the hard fought victory. I breathed a huge sigh of relief when Marcus Smith got subbed. He had an outstanding game. His intercept was worth 14 points! Excellent kicking and game management. Why on earth the coach took him off, I have no idea. But I suspect if he hadn't the score would have been 25 - 24 in favour of the Red Rose. Awesome game!
Marcus Smith was brilliant. Why on earth would you sub him??? All England's momentum went out the door when he left the field. That sub alone cost England the game.
Allegedly, Ford can close out games and Marcus is a "wild card" and can't be trusted (seemed to have forgotten Ireland). The sooner Boredwick builds for the 2027 WC the better and drop the likes of George (looked way off the pace) and Ford (hide on the wing where he tried applying face makeup to Telea because he has never been able to tackle) get passed over the better, in my eyes. Woodwood (sic) and the Hood (Thunderbirds nickname for Eddie) made the same mistake, hanging on to the old guard post a WC. Be brave, we're losing anyway , at least give the kids some experience assuming we don't completely trash their confidence.
The nz media were saying the pass to Ford at the end was a lil high which means Ford needs to adjust his position creating more pressure.@@paulmulryne8405
I thought the new interpretation on "access" after box kicks, and Angus Gardner's communication that he was on top of it, contributed a lot to the excitement.
Your comment about George Ford and his drop goal attempt reminded me of what Rassie said when Manie post the Argentina loss. Wise words from you Tim. BIG fan of your channel 🇳🇿
Great review, as usual Tim. Wallace Sititi reminds me of Siya when I first saw him. You just kinda see he is special, way above a pure rugby level. As a Bokke man, I look forward to seeing Wallace develop, and challenge our boys to be better.
Im a kiwi ABs fan and very disappointed with All Blacks peformance even though we narrowly won the game. Our discipline was horrible, so many penalties. The ending was edge of the seat stuff, game could have gone either way and really thought England would make the drop goal but happy they didnt. Well played England, they are looking like a great side and they pushed us all the way and their defense was awesome.
Very messy n frustrating game to watch with ABs giving away silly penalties which keep England in the game,we will take the win, bring on the Irish,go the ABs.
Yes it was hard to watch as an AB fan. Too many handling errors. Some from defensive pressure but too many from trying to push an unrealistic offload. Inaccurate kicking - uncontestable contestable kicks from B Barrett and kicks out on the full. Lineout errors at critical moments - Aumua was awesome around the field but still had those sketchy moments with his throw. Also Rieko Ioane needs to learn that when the team has worked an overlap inside the 22 and he has ALB, DMac and Mark Telea outside him with the England defense stretched and they're 5 points down with 6 minutes to play - he should PASS THE BALL! I would like to see ALB at centre and Cam Roigard starting next week.
@@2halves12 Irishman here. We're hoping they will make as many mistakes and give as many penalties as today (though I suspect they will work on that). We still fear what the ABs bring. Several players are ascending and a joy to watch. I hope we are in for a treat and a great game next Friday.
@@speakerproductproblem6287 Yes. When the ABs click and the passes stick it's great to watch but it's tough to win when you keep letting the opposition back in with errors and penalties. I think Razor has just about worked out his best 23... Watch out if Cam Roigard starts and is back to his best and Beaudie re-calibrates his game at 10 and Aumua sorts out his throw and Ioane learns how to pass... Looking forward to a great contest!!
England's front row 'bomb squad ' was a damp squib. Why are there no young props who can give some come on in the second 40? Lost the game for the English.
Perfect summary in the first few minutes of your vid., well summed up. I do wonder if the game had gone another five minutes if England would have been ahead, then another five and the ABs would have been ahead. In other words in this game there wasn’t a lot in it, think bounce of the ball and/or refs call. BUT, some teams , and you can see it in range of sports, just seem to be able to keep beating other particular teams by these thin margins and three in a row is enough of a trend to call it for the ABs.
Awesome analysis Eggchasers as always. One little gripe about the pre-match, there are 59,000 Kiwis living in the UK. Surely they could have gotten somebody to sing the NZ national anthem.
@@johnmc3862 I'm sick of all the whining about the haka tbh. I'd rather it was performed only at home matches and in a few countries where it doesn't seem to do the home fans' heads in, eg Japan, France Argentina and the Pacific Islands nations. Alternatively, do what the sevens team do and only perform after a victory. That way all the home fans will have departed and only Kiwis will be left to watch it. The bitching on social media from opposition players, the gripes that it gives the ABs an advantage, aircraft flying over to drown it out, ditto loud music etc. I'm over all that. If they don't want it, don't do it.
@@WaferBrik You make some valid points, but I do hope you know that the South Africans were not purposely disrespecting the Haka with the flyover and loud music. It takes weeks/months of planning & lots of practice to perfect the flyover/s and the timing cannot suddenly be changed, as it's a massive operation, including getting clearance to fly so low in an urban setting. It was unfortunate that the Haka was delayed due to a minute's silence as a mark of respect for the death of the father of one of the ABs players. And the DJ was likely told to play the music in time with the flyover, so it was an unfortunate that one small delay (probably unplanned) had a knock-on effect that then ended up with the timings being completely out of sync.
That Haka was awesome. England players challenging, crowd singing. AB coming forward. Those photographers must have been crapping themselves. Thought the AB were going to step on them 😂
Wow ! what a testmatch. England was very impressive. There were some insane individual moments from both teams in that game. (Love that new England jersey as well.) Congrats AB's, you defeated a good team.
Tim you need to mention how in the uk, the game was behind a pay wall. Not any pay wall but one that most people don’t have. TNT. The rugby league game of England Samoa was free to air on the bbc, I understand the right cost more potentially but it’s one of the main reasons rugby struggles in the uk. I mean even have it on sky at least. Which most people do have.
All the autumn internationals are on TNT. I'd rather they were on a free to air channel but one month's subscription at £31 buys them all. Compare that to the cost of going to just one of the games in person. And no, most people do not have Sky Sports, and if they do, they could have cancelled for one month, subscribed to TNT for one month, and been a few quid better off.
Hiya Tim, great post. Funny enough, after 2019, the Boks were playing such a "boring game" but if you watched this game from start to finish, there is so much of the Boks game that the world's top teams have adopted. Winning Rugby is addictive, and if you want to win....Salads don't win scrums. 🤣🤣🤣
England’s discipline was truly outstanding for most of the match and it kept them so close in the match. Smith’s intercept was very opportunistic, but it just didn’t seem England really threatens the try line. New Zealand had some great performances from a few players, but overall just didn’t seem to put their mark on the game like you would expect them to. When it was 22 all, that seemed to be the most fair result.
Not sure. AB's scored 4 try -one disallowed. We edged the breakdown brought out our subs smashed the scrum and won turnovers so think AB's did deserve win though they made a lot of mistakes and it was a great test match.
If it wasn’t for our poor discipline we would’ve blown them away before halftime. If England were so exceptional, what does that make us? Wait till we start clicking fully, we will be terrifying teams again. This was the exact kind of win we needed to now start building to becoming the greatest team again. Phenomenal contest.
Everyone keeps saying rhis "england cant score tries". What are you even talking about? They're barely trying! When they were getting penalties in the first half on new zealand side of the pitch they would just kick for the three points. We don't even know if they can score tries because everytime they had an opportunity to go for an attacking line out they just settled with the three points.
Great game Tim, Gg mate. Think we done well at our breakdowns and adjusted in the scrums to put us in a position to take our opportunities. All 3 games have been intense and good hard strong rugby. Until next time we battle it out again rugger. Great analysis as always, cheers 🍻
Love your output Tim. And I praise you for not alienating those who love international rugby, but will never fully understand it having never played the game. Planning Australia 2027.
Tactical substitution of Marcus Smith in NZ and tonight has resulted in 3 wins to ABs. The most influential player for England keeps getting taken off. As soon as he was replaced I knew, as was the case in NZ that the ABs would win. He's not injured, leave him on!
@@ericb8888😂 A year ago I asked the town council if a bronze plaque, in honour of PSDT aka The Malmesbury Missile, could be placed on the steps leading up to the very very old abbey. I did not hear back from them.
Hard luck England from an Irish fan, thought you had that one. Off the bar and then the drop, could have easily gone your way, Congrats to the ABs great test for the neutral. Although I was leaning towards England, that rush defense really had the ABs struggling, thanks for the info
Genge getting done twice in a mismatch vs a lightning quick Back is terrible defensive organisation! Ford had a shocker both defensively re Telea's 2nd try & with the boot! TNT Sports did a great job in quickly uploading the match highlights inc the Haka.
I'm a kiwi in nz and I totally agree with you about not blaming Ford. Rugby is an amazing game. And I think England will be a major threat to go all the way at the next world cup. They're not far off at all. It's great to see alot of countries now very competitive. Also I just want to say I love your channel. I love the passion u bring and the fact u call it how it is. Good stuff and thanks
Hey Tim, top of the morning to you, I have to absolutely agree with you on the point that one player can't take all of the flak for the loss, rugby is a team sport. That is why the boks are so successful, the whole team is responsible and accountable for a win or a loss. What a game however from both sides and well done to out all blacks brothers
Cam Roigard made a huge difference when he came on. He was the guy that put the pressure on Ford and that may have made all the difference. He has to start now. Credit where it’s due, McKenzie made the kick when it counted. Negatives for the all blacks, way too many penalties, a lot of that brought by England line pressure, all blacks need a better way to deal with rush defence. Caleb Clarke really wasn’t in the game, kinda rough penalty against him. Mark Telea had a blinder. England did play very well and really could’ve won it but just wasn’t there night. The way the all blacks stuck in there and found a way to win was the first real sign that they are on track.
The ABs made far too many mistakes under pressure and not. Those off-the-ball collisions were their response to the rush defence until they realised the ref wasn't having it. If England had Farrell for the kicks, they win that match.
Yeah Cortez-Ratima was a little bit slow delivering the ball I think which really made the rush defence of Eng much more effective. It sped up slightly with Roigard on who does also provide more of a sniping threat.
hate to say it but Roigard looks more threatening, the way he led that surge with Tuipolotu it was like cavalry arriving in a movie battle scene. Problem is do you want that Roigard, Tuipolotu, Dmac impact off the bench, or start Roigard
@ absolutely start Roigard and unless there was a valid reason I wouldn’t take him off. Why not have that benefit the whole game rather than just the end. Forward replacements b I can see the benefit but not for a Roigard.
First here! Morning in NZ Tim! What a fantastic test match - a nail biter to the end……loved how England played but some improvement needed in just getting over the line with the score. Swing Low Sweet Chariot over the Haka was ace too! 😂💪🏻🏴🌹
Yep - morning for me & night time for you. And yes - we did lose. But as an England fan I believe there’s a lot of positives to take from that game. Being an AB fan ( which I’m assuming you are?) then a fair comment is to watch your discipline and defence - your games against Ireland and France will be very tough if you don’t tighten those up beforehand. Still, an amazing game & worth getting up at 3.30 am for!
Love the Haka for its theatre 👍🏻 I’m fully behind teams responding to it though! Bear in mind that both teams edged closer to each other as well. A bit of a pre match face off always sets the tone for a great game 👍🏻
That was a great test match. Small margins and nailing points when it matters was really the story here. I’m really happy the ABs came back from 8 pts down, I’m not too happy with us forcing 50/50 passes in the opposition 22. Regardless which side won that was one hell of a game. BTW Joe M. is a character and knows how to stir the pot. Bring it on, people love drama.
Great thoughts Tim .... well done NZ .... fantastic game ....Satiti and that monster of a bloke (I think 19) had epic games ..... from a BOK fan ...... see you in 2 weeks
Pants by probably the worst New Zealand team in over a decade 3 times, cant attack to save their lives with all chances coming from New Zealand errors or penalties. Sure, better, yeah. Lmao, this team is 6th best in the world max and their is no players in their that are actively getting better, if anything earl is regressing.
I'm a Frenchie living in Ireland and I managed to see the game in a pub. Mind you I had to try 2 pubs before finding one that was showing it. It was a great game to watch! Everyone was on their A game it seemed
Great Impartial commentry..Am a kiwi in Blackpool , Eventually found 1 pub that was showing it - almost missed the haka..Great game , was sweating it in the last 10 mins
Watched it in a pub just outside Cardiff. Few New Zealand fans in their as you might expect but all good banter. However, got to say England were excellent. They really put the AB’s under pressure and could have easily (and deservedly) won the game. As a Wales fan, I watched on in envy of the talent and power some of these England boys have. AB’s confidence in their ability to win games showed in the end. Great test match.
Why bring on a plodder like George Ford? His contribution was 1x missed tackle resulting in a try, 1x missed penalty (the ball went precisely where he aimed it) & 1x missed drop. Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. And how come Clark never got a yellow card for the deliberate knock on?
A "plodder"? Ridiculous comment. Ford is the best 10 in England: he had an off day, unfortunately when Smith had his first decent outing in an England shirt to contrast it. You didn't seem to mind when Smith made dreadful mistakes in the past, or shanked 2 awful DGs today? How quickly you forget Ford's part in the 2019 semi against the ABs, or his play against Argentina in the WC. He deserves so much more credit than you give him. Disgraceful comment.
This was an English loss more than an AB win. Very closely matched sides. Entertaining game from start to finish. England did well to take points during the first half and capitalise on AB second half struggles. English “bomb squad” changes were not effective. Scrum suffered after the front row change. Also, Smith was on fire - was the change to Ford necessary to “close out the match”? Too safe too soon? The AB changes were far more effective than in the Rugby Championship and back to scoring again in the last 20 was the difference. Angus Gardiner was excellent. “Not all head contact is foul play” is a huge step in the right direction for rugby officiating🙌🏻 Great game of rugby overall
Went to my local pub in Cardiff and was surprised how busy it was. They usually have rugby one side and football they other but so many people wanted to watch the rugby they put it on both sides. Hugely enjoyable game, I do think you should have beaten them given the position you got yourselves in. All the same, a lot to take for your next games
The George Ford penalty kick - he got a choice of where he wanted to kick the penalty from because of two penalties in the same movement. And he chose the more difficult position in my opinion - closer to the sideline when the other position was more in front of the posts.
As always Tim love your balanced videos and knowledge of the game. Also I’d like to add most people who comment on your analysis on here are true rugby fans with a little banter of course😁.I read other comments elsewhere and the hate and nastiness is quite vile and has no place in rugby or life.Keep up the good work Tim!
Please repeat after me, THE HAKA IS NOT A. WAR DANCE, it is a challenge offered when two groups meet, this could be before battle but is more often than not for a range of other reasons.
Indeed. Numerous British monarchs have faced the Haka. At the end a challenge is issued. You either accept it or you don't. You always accept it. Well, QE II did.
@@NTL578 Wikipedia: "Haka...performed to welcome distinguished guests, or to acknowledge great achievements, occasions, or funerals... conceptions that haka are typically war dances, and the non-accurate performance of haka by non-Māori, are considered erroneous by Māori scholars."
Great game. Ford will be disappointed with the penalty more than the last gasp drop attempt - Randall was a deer in the lights a bit, and I hope this shows that good domestic player does not automatically = Test match animal. The Prem is great - but such a huge step down. We looked rusty in parts, a little unfit but that will improve as the games come. Cunningham-South was big. Randall needed to give Ford that ball on a plate, at speed, chest height .. it was a real clanger.
Thank you to both teams for such an entertaining match. So sorry that England lost by such a narrow margin again. The team needs to get used to winning these big matches again as they definitely have the talent but something seems to be missing psychologically to close out the wins.
Excellent analysis based on solid knowledge and experience as usual without trying to be sensational. Another shout out oir the women's game, its really worth watching.
If England were to lose that’s how I’d want it to happen. Maximum exposure to Borthwick’s poor selection decisions (more the bench rather than the starting XV). Got to strengthen the bench, there are players that aren’t involved playing some unbelievable rugby and are English who could create proper momentum and impact. Ted Hill, Will Evans, Fin Smith (or just leave Marcus Smith on the pitch!), Ibitoye & Wade to name a few. Park your pride Borthwick and start getting guys in who can really compete for starting places in the name of strengthening the matchday 23
England just looked nervous for the last 20 minutes. Rather than growing in confidence, they just went into their shell and I think George Ford coming on compounded that. His presence just reinforced the plan to move to a very tight, more pragmatic play style and that worked against us. I could also see Telea's finish a mile off, I knew Ford would go high on that tackle. Anyway, he should amended for that with the multiple 3 point misses at the end, very unlike him!
Tackling correctly will enable a team a chance to gain more ball not the scrambleing smash and grab. The 0position in any game will always be in struggle street.
For all the focus on head contact, the divebombing into players legs without arms is as dangerous. Those are career ending injuries. Should Earl have been sent off for his divebomb move. According to the laws, absolutely.
Solid, unbiased analysis as always. Exciting match but loads of errors from both sides. Re TNT - fed up that every competition is behind a different pay wall. Pushing us paupers to go ‘pirate’
Missed it- not paying for another subscription service- listened on Radio 5 live sports extra for 1st half and then went to have my tea- looking forward to 6Nations (if it's still on BBC/ITV) - 1 less England supporter to the suits- congrats to NZ for winning an apparently good game- 6Nations will be good and very competitive- North and South are very close too- shame we can't see our own team play.
You’re absolutely right… a loss is NEVER one person’s fault. What an exciting match. Where ENG needs to improve is in their mindset for scoring tries. And look at the try they did score. AMAZING. ENG have everything they need to be a winning team.
Hi Tim, enjoyed the content as usual. This is another game against the abs that we (Eng) should have won. Taking nothing away from the effort, the replacements did not step up to the required level. Our scrum was once again found wanting when it really mattered, and we missed a kickable penalty and drop goal which I suggest our SH friends would have made. Forget finishers, it’s a 23 man game, and every player need# to be at a starting level. We are not there yet, and that will be reflected in the Autumn series results, let’s hope progress continues, but I see nothing in the current establishment to move us to the next level.
I feel for England. They had it for the taking. Two defence mistakes by the outside defender (first the no 15 and Ford at the end) to come in on the second to last runner who was already covered. That meant the last receiver got the ball uncovered - two tries against them. I was also puzzled at why England did not play wide twice early in the game when they had overlaps but chose to thunder down the middle. This game Showed (for me) so clearly the necessity of a ice cool place kicker. And two good props on the bench. Marcus Smith is maturing. He may turn out to be one of the great 10's of his time. And thank you England for that wonderful "old school up and under". A joy to see. And it almost came off... (And P.S. - The Boks are going to have a hard task against England in two weeks time.) AB's? Well what we know - they know how to win and they have slick and dangerous runner who will score if you give them any space.
What does there for the taking mean ? Other than it being 3 tries to one and the one being an intercept, I thought NZ left a lot of points out there and just looked more dangerous…. If you mean there for the taking for both teams then I get it… but it’s true of most 1v1 when they’re both top teir
@@Holloweve One kick basically an easy one to win the game. Didn't you see it? It would have given England two points more than NZ at the end of the game. I am sorry, I cannot explain it more clearly.
Yes Tim I watched it in a pub but I asked the guy behind the jump to put it on. I think you are right not as many people would have seen this game as it’s another prescription but I guess hard core rugby fans would not miss it. 🏉🏴
As a neutral, I was just looking forward to a great game. But when the England players celebrate opposition mistakes, I was shouting for AB’s at the end of the game. I have no problem with players celebrating when their team does something well, but celebrating an opposition knock on is making England a very hard team to like.
As a Springbok fan, I can tell you that the AB have this ability to break your heart in a much worse manner than your ex-wife will ever be able to.
It needs a proper documentary.
Plus Haka in sports pre-date national anthems in sport by over 2 decades. The 1st national anthem sung was a spontaneous response by the Welsh to the last test of the 1905 "Originals" tour pre game Haka.
There are numerous documentaries on the Haka and on the All Black Halas but nothing so far that focuses on the international aspect.
Massive shift from Will Stuart proved a lot of people wrong today

I’m a kiwi and totally agree about your comments on the haka. Great response from the English and I loved seeing them get up close to one another. Spine tingling!
They tried it in a previous game and got fined for that attempt.
@ worth it
I agree with that, teams should be able to challenge the haka, however I believe crowds shouldn't sing through it, they should be more respectful like Japan
@@therelinquished4751 Ok you have permission next time it happens to tell the crowd to be more polite.
If you’re going to do it at an away match, you have to accept the naturally less-than-reverent reaction of the away fans.
You don't deserve to win if you lose.
@@Marius_vanderLubbeAgree. If you are ahead in the last minutes of a game and cannot close it out, then you did not play intelligently or the killer instict is absent.Which means you are not champion material.
Well said my friend 😊
I am afraid a lot of people would have not seen that.that’s how you grow the game 😡
Deserved to win that?...3 tries to 1 intercept try?.
Some really tight, skillful plays!"
Tim, again thank you for your positive feedback.
Seemed like sour grapes from England.
I thought that was a bit odd with the anthems but not a big deal really.
It was really noticeable and not impactful for the result. Definitely poor form.
these things happen because of last minute problems not plans, read a rugby history book.
It came to 2 things do we keep Marcus where there's a risk of fatigue or bring some fresh leg.marcus had an outstanding game.
He didn't look fatigued. Thought Borthwick reckoned Ford's experience would see the game out - a big mistake for us.
Wallace was man of the match.
I thought the new interpretation on "access" after box kicks, and Angus Gardner's communication that he was on top of it, contributed a lot to the excitement.
I can't remember Angus Gardiner ever having a bad performance. When he refs it's always a good spectacle & he gets no mention afterwards (a good sign)
He yelled out to the ABs early in the match "let him through" So apparently now the defending side have to give way which is nonsense of course.
As an ABs fan, Wallace Sititi vs Cameron Hanekom will be incredible. Both generational talented forwards
No comparison. Sititi is a way beter player and has only just begun.

Agree

Whatever your views on the game today I think we can all agree the ref on the PA system is genius 🙌
They've been doing it in American Football for years. Not that I'm suggesting there is much else about that game I would recommend.
In SA this is happening for a long long time
England's front row 'bomb squad ' was a damp squib. Why are there no young props who can give some come on in the second 40? Lost the game for the English.
@@vanzylkoegelenberg9199 I’m glad the rest of the rugby world is starting to embrace it hope to see it in Ireland for the ABs game
In the begi nning we called it Field Ears. Lol
I'm a Pom and I thought that.
Isn’t the Haka enough lol.
@@WaferBrikI've been saying this for years. Let's just do the haka at home if anyone overseas wants to see it come to New Zealand.
Absolutely incredible game. Fair play to New Zealand, both teams deserved it, and they just clinched it. Exactly what test matches are about
That Haka was awesome.
The jersey was horrible. Game was epic!
Also with Nowtv you can get a day pass which to my knowledge isn’t the case with TNT, just a £40 monthly fee.
100% Tim totally agree with your views on the Haka.
Wallace Satiti, An All-time great in the making...
@ I’m an Ab fan mate
Isn't everything in rugby opportunistic?
Great game Tim, Gg mate. Think we done well at our breakdowns and adjusted in the scrums to put us in a position to take our opportunities. All 3 games have been intense and good hard strong rugby. Until next time we battle it out again rugger. Great analysis as always, cheers 🍻

Never been a huge Marcus Smith fan, but I have to say he was monumental today. Had England kept him on, they would have probably won
Exactly my opinion… not a fan, but today hats off.
Tactical substitution of Marcus Smith in NZ and tonight has resulted in 3 wins to ABs. The most influential player for England keeps getting taken off. As soon as he was replaced I knew, as was the case in NZ that the ABs would win. He's not injured, leave him on!

Tim, another great un-bias just rugby piece, well done fella.
Deserved win for the kiwis looked the better team and more lethal team today
Also abs midfield lacks penetration
How can you not luv a great game of rugger, that was epic, hands are still unsteady, thanks mate, England are a real force, amazing game.

That was a great test match. Small margins and nailing points when it matters was really the story here. England still can’t scrum in the last 20 minutes. That was the difference.
I agree. But England could have got a red for the no arms attack on the knees. So, call it even?
“Not all head contact is foul play” is a huge step in the right direction for rugby officiating🙌🏻
Great game of rugby overall
Watched the game in the Brazen Head, Big Bay, Cape Town. And now watching Scotland against Fiji.
No one really cares anyway. Let them pretend.
yeah sure. They never did it before battles, then, no?

Great analysis as always Tim!

Thank you to both teams for such an entertaining match. So sorry that England lost by such a narrow margin again. The team needs to get used to winning these big matches again as they definitely have the talent but something seems to be missing psychologically to close out the wins.
Jordan try was class….. also Tele’a, what a finisher….
Agree.... Shit tackling though
As a kiwi, i love when people challenge the haka. Its all banter at the end, brings some hype to the game
Agreed
Tackling correctly will enable a team a chance to gain more ball not the scrambleing smash and grab. The 0position in any game will always be in struggle street.
I enjoy how fair and objective your views are.
For all the focus on head contact, the divebombing into players legs without arms is as dangerous. Those are career ending injuries. Should Earl have been sent off for his divebomb move. According to the laws, absolutely.
Yes, agree. That is about as dangerous as it gets. That's right out of a 1970s playbook.
Just go to your local rugby club and watch it in the clubhouse. I do agree with your sentiment however. But you missed an absolutely fantastic game.
Why don’t you get TNT then you could also watch club rugby
@@Jack-qv5ru Unfortunately some rugby clubs , like my local club have a club members only policy for selected days like international games.
You’re absolutely right… a loss is NEVER one person’s fault.
What an exciting match. Where ENG needs to improve is in their mindset for scoring tries. And look at the try they did score. AMAZING. ENG have everything they need to be a winning team.
Mate, that’s a tough one. Hard, hard luck, game of inches.
(And P.S. - The Boks are going to have a hard task against England in two weeks time.)
AB's? Well what we know - they know how to win and they have slick and dangerous runner who will score if you give them any space.
What does there for the taking mean ? Other than it being 3 tries to one and the one being an intercept, I thought NZ left a lot of points out there and just looked more dangerous…. If you mean there for the taking for both teams then I get it… but it’s true of most 1v1 when they’re both top teir
rsa already beat nz think we'll win comfortably if we play normal
@@Holloweve One kick basically an easy one to win the game. Didn't you see it? It would have given England two points more than NZ at the end of the game. I am sorry, I cannot explain it more clearly.
@ so you distill an entire game down to one missed kick ? What a very selective way to view a match to manufacture a biased view. Really odd
@@Holloweve- Go check the rules of the game. The team with the most points win. Unlike synchronized swimming there is no points in rugby for style.
Brilliantly said about the HAKA and test match.what a game❤
Tim loves his ford coloured glasses
Yes Tim I watched it in a pub but I asked the guy behind the jump to put it on. I think you are right not as many people would have seen this game as it’s another prescription but I guess hard core rugby fans would not miss it. 🏉🏴
As a neutral, I was just looking forward to a great game. But when the England players celebrate opposition mistakes, I was shouting for AB’s at the end of the game. I have no problem with players celebrating when their team does something well, but celebrating an opposition knock on is making England a very hard team to like.
Agreed, poor form
Agreed. Very arrogant and actually just not that good.
@@siix477what do you expect it’s the English attitude.
Agreed mocking me if I knocked the ball on would really really piss me off
As Bongi said, it's plastic energy
Great call on teams coming forward, totally agree
