I really feel POP helped Demar with his temperament and confidence. He had two amazing years there. Not only did his defence improve, but he now moves the ball exceptionally well. I hope he gets a chip.
Because he knows what players want to be asked. He knows that players need a comfortable space to release their peace without the drama behind it. Most of the time, these athletes don't care, but it does hurt. They don't want to show it because people on social media and even other players can pounce on that person. Dray knows the pain of holding these feelings in for years.
Another great interview Dray DeRo is the perfect example of a guy who started from the bottom and worked his way up all whilst staying humble. That alone deserves our respect 👏🏼

It feels like he never wants to acknowledge San Antonio, but we still love and appreciate his professionalism and game. ope he gets a ring, SA will always have a special place in our hearts for you Demar!
Could be. There's more to it, I think. Motivation, chemistry throughout the whole season, injuries, a lot plays a part in it. It could go a number of ways. If Milwaukee can motivate themselves for a repeat, they should occupy the top two with Brooklyn, in my opinion. Philly was a powerhouse last year, but they messed up on their exit, and the Simmons relationship so much, it's hard to see them overcome that immediately. Maybe they will, maybe this kind of internal shock is something they actually needed for that next step... if everyone can cut their own B.S, and come to the same page, it could be a blessing in disguise. Reason tells me otherwise. Is Boston ready for that next step? I don't know. Can Miami play a bubble-like year, again? Adding Kyle and Tucker, they definitely have the pieces. One thing's for sure, it'll be really interesting watching the east this year. I will probably be rootin' for the bulls, they have a really interesting, albeit not really defensively minded starting 5. :)
7:42 Toronto and much of Canada has always been very much "Americanized" but every guy always acts thrown by seeing federal signs with two languages written on them. It's not that big a deal. Why does Draymond make it sound like a city with more than 3 million citizens didn't exist prior to Demar arriving? This city has culture and an identity, and it's been around for just as long as any major American city on the East coast. I know it probably never crossed his mind to travel north of the border as a young player, but he makes it sound like he's playing for a foreign league in Europe, and not a few hours drive from Detroit. Toronto has always had a diverse ethnic population, but with basketball being a lesser watcher sport abroad, and hockey reigning supreme for a majority of Canadians, it did take some time to build up a fan base for the Raptors team prior to its inception in 1995. But they did something smart that most other franchises in the league have not done before - they directed marketing campaigns at recently landed immigrants and foreign nationals, putting out pamphlets, posters, flyers and TV spots in multiple languages that gained traction with Toronto's Asian population, Middle Eastern population, and the French-speaking Caribbean population. When I was growing up we had actual schoolyard fights over who got to wear Vince Carter's #15 for gym class. And we always took it a little too personally when traded players came to the city and had a frostier perception and demeanor to our city than our own winters did. What Demar did was build upon the passionate fan base, and he expanded it. It became a destination for the league and not some backwater stop for a regular season win. When the Raps were basement dwellers, he told the city that we would be alright. We've never forgotten his loyalty and love for Toronto, and it broke my heart to see him traded. It nearly ripped the team in half between the players and the front office, but they pulled it together and won a championship as a result. It took a lot to part ways with him, and given all that he's done for the sport at large, and for the discussion about player's mental health, I wish him all the best in his career. Kawhi may have put the pennant in the rafters, but Demar helped build the stadium Kawhi played in.
8:12 local media was very critical of that deal he got early in his career. Hell the fan base hated it as well..when he made the all star team earlier than schedule Bryan colangelo threw it in the face if all the local media members. Derozan exceeded expectations
I am quite proud of Draymond and his interview style approach!! Great questions and allows his guests to ACTUALLY speak. Great job DG!! Keep it up. Let's have LBJ, Klay, Steph, Ja, James Harden on next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Draymond is a natural at this. Demar gave some very good points of view about how he sees the game for himself. He said it is therapeutic to play and is his happy place. I never got a dime to play growing up in the hoods of Memphis but hoopin’ was most certainly my “get-away” from everything else going on around me.

I'm happy that he's here in Chicago and I'm praying that he and the Bulls can make it happen and get a ring while he's with the Bulls!!! Great interview!! Thanks Draymond!!
And look at him and this team we have in Chicago now, DeMar hit the last buzzer beater of 21 and the first in 22😤🐂's🏀 baby‼️ We're over happy having him and I know that Zack is like NEW BALL GAME NOW FINALLY 😅🥂🍾 D🌹ZEN DEBO‼️
Draymond along with Matt Barnes is one of the best player/interviewers I’ve witnessed. He understood the assignment and delivered 🙌🏾
Thank you for always playing hard as hell, we’re gonna miss you.
- San Antonio
I really feel POP helped Demar with his temperament and confidence. He had two amazing years there. Not only did his defence improve, but he now moves the ball exceptionally well. I hope he gets a chip.
Draymond is a hell of a player but he might be an even better interviewer! These are phenomenal!
As a Bulls fan I was so happy to have a player of this caliber and has amazing character! We will retire your Jersey Demar!
My favourite player. He might not realize it but he did so much for Toronto. He will always be a legend there.
Draymond is good at this. Like, really good.
Facts
Because he knows what players want to be asked. He knows that players need a comfortable space to release their peace without the drama behind it. Most of the time, these athletes don't care, but it does hurt. They don't want to show it because people on social media and even other players can pounce on that person. Dray knows the pain of holding these feelings in for years.
We as fans want more of these, this is want we crave, don’t ignore this.
Another great interview Dray DeRo is the perfect example of a guy who started from the bottom and worked his way up all whilst staying humble. That alone deserves our respect 👏🏼
Love to see his growth! I’m not sure he was this open a few years ago. Much respect to Demar
as raptor fan second and as a Toronto man born and raised first. demar, we love you and thank you for everything....you will always be apart of our city
such an amazing interview, demar speaks so well on his perspective on mental health and how it is important.
It feels like he never wants to acknowledge San Antonio, but we still love and appreciate his professionalism and game. ope he gets a ring, SA will always have a special place in our hearts for you Demar!
Miss him so much 😭❤ he's still saying Toronto the way we say it.
This episode is so soooo touching. Love and respect to demar, and hope he can always be happy.
The bulls will be a top 4 seeded team in EAST mark my words.
Higher than either Miami, Brooklyn, Boston, or Milwaukee???? I say likely top 5 seed
Wait for Lonzo teenage fanboys to create a toxic environment around the team through social media. 3 months tops. Not even 6th seed
@@andrewchristensen6828 boston boutta be trash
Zero Defense on that team all your top players are below average defenders
So raw. So real. So honest.
Not a fan but I wanna give him a hug.
As a Raptor fan I miss my guy. I'll always rep my DeRozan Raptor jersey.
Thank you Demar! You will always be a legend here in Toronto! 🙌
Canada’s more like Britain than USA
Demar will always have so many memories instilled in my mind. Never forget what demar meant to us
8:12 local media was very critical of that deal he got early in his career. Hell the fan base hated it as well..when he made the all star team earlier than schedule Bryan colangelo threw it in the face if all the local media members. Derozan exceeded expectations
as a Raptor fan - DeMar will always be a legend in our city! Our city never forgets our heroes (our all-time points leader)
Oh yeah Green with another banger interview. Keep it up B/R!!!
I am quite proud of Draymond and his interview style approach!! Great questions and allows his guests to ACTUALLY speak. Great job DG!! Keep it up. Let's have LBJ, Klay, Steph, Ja, James Harden on next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love these hard and honest questions and how real Demar is💯
Draymond is a natural at this. Demar gave some very good points of view about how he sees the game for himself. He said it is therapeutic to play and is his happy place. I never got a dime to play growing up in the hoods of Memphis but hoopin’ was most certainly my “get-away” from everything else going on around me.
masai asking how the movie was is some COLD SHIT.
Hahaha some COLD SHIT! Really cold shit
You as cold as ICE! lol
So much respect for DeMar bro. As a Raptors fan this interview was sort of tough to watch but he is just so mature about everything bro. He could easily have held a grudge and been angry about his time in Toronto but he didn't which shows a lot of character. He will forever be one of the players I root for no matter what!
When he talked about how scary it was to leave home, I felt it in my bones.
Great interview as always, Draymond. DeMar is a real one, great to hear him speak so openly. Looking forward to seeing more of these conversations!
Love Dre for this. Asking the questions everyone else is afraid to ask. Much respect 🙏🏽🔥
