Once I didn't care much for these Chrysler K Cars. I didn't hate them. I just didn't care about them. As years went by, I had a change of heart for these K cars and I began to like them. It's amazing how this one held up.

Room for six people? Okay, you _can_ get six people to fit, albeit tightly, and hopefully they'll get along with one another.
I remember one Plymouth Reliant commercial in which a tow truck was actually being PULLED by the Reliant while the car's rear wheels were off the ground! Wonder if it could have been done in real life? _(9/17/2023)_

Interesting you have a Mustang behind the K Car
The Mustang and K Car were both either created or made successful by Lee Iacocca
Basically both these cars are Lee’s most successful vehicles
If it wasn’t for him it’s very possible ford and definitely Chrysler would have gone bankrupt
And you wouldn’t have those two cars to sell

1981 was the only year that "K" was actually part of the model name, used only on the tailgate; 1982s still made mention of "K" as part of the model name but only in the respective brochures (it was no longer seen on the tailgate), and then disappeared from the model name outright beginning in the '83 brochures.
1981 was the only year that the model name emblem (without the additional "K" badge) also appeared on the front wheel fenders.
1981 was the only year that the hood badge was different than the corporate Chrysler Pentastar hood ornament; on the Dodge Aries it was a flat circle badge with the Pentastar logo in the middle and the words "DODGE DIVISION" encircling the top and bottom halves of the circle, respectively, while for the Plymouth Reliant it was a variation of Chrysler's corporate Pentastar logo combined with Plymouth's former rocket logo last used in the 1960s.

I have always had a very special love for the K-Car/Plymouth Reliant. Sure, it was never the most beautiful car in the world, but without this car & it's Dodge Aries sister, Chrysler as we know it would most certainly not exist today. Plus, the chassis of this humble little economy car was the basis for almost all of Chrysler's new cars in the 1980's. It spawned sedans, coupes, wagons, sports coupes, luxury cars, convertibles, even limousines. It was also the basis for the vehicle that created a whole new automotive segment............the first minivan!!!!!

    They were crappy cars
The folly is that without the chassis the minivan would have never come to be...
They were made without functioning rear windows because child locks was non existent in the 1980s
This was there answer to child security locks ...
