it really goes to show just how important it was that Robb was crowned as King in the North since it brought both the Brackens and Blackwoods on the same side for the first time since (at least) Aegon’s Conquest
I'm fairly certain they both stayed loyal to lord tully during Robert's rebellion
They were on peace terms during Jeaherys reign for like 50 years
@@Lumistrocity in that case, but in most other wars they were on opposing sides. The blackwoods backed rhaenyra and the brackens backed aegon. Then in the Blackfyre Rebellion(s) they were again on opposing sides. Robert’s Rebellion may be more so just them following their liege lord instead of actively working together

We have a similar situation in Chicago with O Block and STL...two gangs that came from one original gang, fractured into two factions, and generations have fought and died for their respective sides. The two gangs also are literally within miles of each other, separated by a dividing line in the form of a street. It always interested me how some of the lore of this universe parallels real life.

no. In fact blood magic is not associated with Westeros at all in the current time. Bran sees a vision of an old woman with a bronze axe (weapons of the First Men) seemingly ready to kill someone near the godswood tree, but he doesn't know if it is a sacrifice or execution.
