Thank you 😊
Great video Taylor!
After growing up on and around motorcycles(56 years young now) I have
just this past summer "discovered" track days at my local race track. I am
watching everything I can find from solid riders like yourself to try to learn
everything I can. Videos like this are a big help. Would very much like to see
more videos like this.
Thank you and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤️🏍
Randy
Good for you mate 👏🏻👏🏻✊🏻✊🏻
@@mbal4052 😎👊
Hey Taylor
Great video. We can all benefit from watching onboard footage of you and a talk through to explain what's happening.
Really enjoyed it and look forward to more onboard action.
Will do 😎
Also, maybe another video describing exactly on how much weight your putting on the clip-ons during braking? What do you do in what situations? For example, down the straight from 150 to 70 when your straight up and down, is it 100% of your weight or holding how much back with your legs... how do you know, how much you should allow to transfer (based on feeling / traction from the front etc.)
Great video. I'd love to see you link up with the boys from 44th sometime on circuit for new bike reviews.
That's in the plan at some point!
Yes, more of this for the UK circuits.
Very enjoyable 👍🏼 I like how you explain even the basics of checking down the track as you come out of pit lane, ABS bump was interesting too and why you didn’t necessarily meet the apex etc.
Hopefully MOTOGP make the most of your expertise 🤙🏼
I’m guessing this might be really difficult but I would like to see a side by side comparison on the same track between you, your bro and your dad to talk about a bike of his era & what he was doing, what your bro is doing on his bike and then you on a production bike or your BSB bike.
thanks for the content as always
Great vid Taylor. Got a couple of friends joining me on your Dads track day up at Knockhill next year for their first time. Hope to see you there. If you get a chance to do an early track review before our session it’d help them (and me) out to get the most of the sessions. 👍🏼
please do more! I not only enjoy the videos but as a beginner motorcycle racer it is very helpful to see your personal and technical approach on track. Thanks :)
Awesome 😎
Hi Taylor. Great channel & so great to see your dad involved. I'm getting on a bit myself now and remember the latter stages of your dads career. Always wanted all of you guys to do well. I reckon you could do really well if you also did some 'how to' vids for 1st timers/novice riders...my eldest is 8 my youngest 6. Both of them (boy/girl) love bikes and I'd love for them to watch you show 'how to'...might help convince their mum to change her mind about letting them get involved!
Wow what a smooth looking track. All that land and they have to have a chicane. But what an awesome video as usual
Thanks Clayton
Magic Video.
Great to watch and I loved the 4th gear corner to that leads into the 6th gear RH thats flat-chat.
It was fun to ride!
Excellent vid Taylor, definitely more of this please. I'm like a big sponge 😁👍🏻👏🏼🏴
Excellent video guidance, love to see one of Oulton Park
Love that mate love to hear that talk on why where etc top notch keep it up mate 💙👊🏼
Lucky boy to get a TD at ascari. I did it years ago on a riders for health charity event, and its by far the best track I’ve ridden.
Awesome isn't it!
I love this mate, more videos like this please!
Absolutely class Taylor as ever kiddy 😎😎😎😎🙌👍great to see your lines 👍you must have been the fastest by miles there 🙌really enjoy these on boards good to see a quick racers lines 🙌🙌keep them coming mate
😎
Track looks so nice.
Yes, yes, and YES.
Excellent. Enjoyable and informative.
Great video fella, as previously mentioned any UK would be great preference Oulton Park, Croft or Anglesey 👌 keep it up 👍
Fantastic video buddy and yes more please ..... Knockhill 😁. this is definitely something you should do IMO .. cheers pal
Definitely!
Love to see you do a talk through of my local track, Donington. Ascari looks like a lot of fun.
...and thanks very much for the Donington video! Now, if you could just give me a bit of talent too, that would be grand.
Awesome Cheers bud merry Christmas 🌲☃️
Great video. Could you do more about how you choose turn in points, and also what you use as exit points.
Yes 😁
I have been to most race tracks in Europe, this is one I haven`t been to...... I think our test driver Pedro de la Rosa had a help in the design, I know he went there a lot... Always good to see on board videos... so more would be good... I like it when you are chasing someone..... Take care :-)))
Awesome 😎
Mate that was absolutely awesome to watch cheers for the commentary 👍 I'm kind of in he middle of Cadwell, Croft and Donington so any hints and tips for those would be awesome, especially Cadwell as I seem to end up there the most. Thanks for sharing as always, top content and info 🙂🏍️👍
Will do!
Hi Taylor, thanks for all your videos / content. It is really enjoyable to watch. Yes more track walkthroughs please, Snetterton and Cadwell would be handy ;-) The more technical detail the better. Maybe you could use your BSB footage. Good luck for next year with moto 3
Yes please! I'd be keen to see Knockhill and Donington. Apparently you know them quite well ... :-)
I spent years riding by the seat of my pants but I'm actually faster now 20+ years later because I started riding analytically. This is good stuff.
Don't be 'crazy Dave' the local hero, think your rides through.
😎
Another great video. Would love to see a similar video at Jerez
If I ever get the chance I will!
nice one Taylor, looks like an awesome track, and I'm sure with a few more laps you'd have aced it.
Definitely do more
It would be nice to see a pov where you describe your visual experience. ie when you look at the brake marker and then when you look on into the entry and apex, when you look to the exit and what you use for markers,
Great idea, thanks Jay!
Great vid Taylor, and chance of doing the commentary whilst you are actually going round? Look forward to seeing more. 😊
Wish I had that to watch on the tracks I have been on first, it would me save a day, if you can do every track you go to for next year GP like this vid, Ive done Imola, Adria and Mugello in Italy and would like to go to Spain/Portugal this spring.
Looks fab!
Great video Taylor. I learned some good tips there. If you fancy doing Portimao and Mugello that would be rad.
That would be awesome if I get the chance!
Really useful commentary that, cheers TM 👍
No problem 👍
Awesome vid mate! Can you get more granular and detailed for the more experienced of us please?
How much weight on the handle bars during breaking in real time 100%, 90, 80, 50, etc.
How much braking force during sections?
Weight on the pegs
Weight of the chest, redistribution/distributing weight
What are you thinking when you run wide? How do you correct on the next lap?
We love your vids Taylor. Thanks for everything you do!
Next time I’m riding I’ll try and stick a camera in my helmet so you can hear in real time what I’m doing 😁
Love this. Trying to soak up as much information before track days starts again.
Donington would be great. When you’re shifting your weight in relation to setting up a corner and braking. Not that I’d match your braking points.
Also when to move your upper body. I tend to over rotate and hand off too much yet keeping my head central. Still working on that ‘chin to the bar’ technique
Will do 😎
Awesome! Yes! Please! More tips on what you're doing on the bike. Also, some way to describe how light or tight you're holding on to the bars...what are you looking to feel/sensations in your hands to understand grip. I hold a very loose grip...but still don't fully understand while I'm leaning in a turn whether I should keep weight on the bar in order to put more weight on the front for grip or not! Or whether when the bike is on it's side that the forces are already have enough weight on the front?? Can you help describe it? I never see this fully explained on videos.
That was great Taylor, thanks. 👍👍
No probs 😁
I used to cover the front brake till one day at 5mph I ran into the back of the wife's FJ 09 and shattered my finger tips hitting her grab rail that was the perfect hight as my brake lever. She was pulling over and I had lost concentration for a split second. The bone in both finger tips had turned to dust. Good clean fun.
Ouch!
Great video, a rear mounted cam to catch your related body positioning would be a bonus.
That would be cool!
Great video! More? Yes please! Where? Doesn't matter!
Cool 😎
Awesome video with commentary! Please do more!!! Nurburgring someday, maybe??? 🤘🤞
❤❤
Maybe one day!
Thanks. All right I would like to see Laguna seca when you are in the area.
I'd love to one day!
Great video thanks Taylor. Could you add in the videos good body positioning and when and where you use the brakes for cornering? Love your videos.
Yes! 😁
Loved that. Would be good to see you do some how to guides around the English tracks 👍
I'll try and dig out some footage I've got
Good vid, I’d love to see some of the uk tracks .
Coming soon!
Hi Taylor. Can you do a talk through for Snetterton 300 track please ? I’ve got a track day booked there May 2022. I’ve done the old snetty track, but not the new layout. Any pointers for that would be great. Great vid as usual by the way. Cheers.
Great vid, would like to see a similar vid on knockhill.
I can definitely do that one!
Very helpful. Thanks Taylor!
No probs!
Very helpful. Please consider Donington, Snetterton, Silverstone GP/International, Mallory. Cheers🍻
I'll dig out what I've got and maybe do some more next year 😁
Got to warm them tyres up. Some people don't get out of pit lane with cold tyres.( do you remember that, s1000rr) oops.
Looks a cool track. Need to do a track day abroad 👍🏼
Get one booked! 😁
It's great to see these kind of videos. It has helped me loads on the track, definitely like to see more of this kind ,maybe of some uk tracks cadwell donington Park, etc. 👍
@@JpOcDenver not sure but corrected
@@andydixon1698 ☺️
Thanks for all your content Taylor, another great informative video.
Would love to see you on a sidecar next ;)
Maybe one day!
Fantastic mate, really enjoyed that.
If you've some on board at Anglesey that would be really useful for me! Love that track, but it's not been too kind to me, specifically at Peel Corner when I smashed my knee to bits 🤣🤣
Also, when's the book out that you were talking about when you did your trackday TH-cam tutorial with your dad?
Love the videos mate 👍
I think I do somewhere I'll have a dig through!
@@tmac77 that would be brilliant, thank you
Hi.
Really enjoyed your video mate.
Would you recommend for a track day rider to have there mirrors on as I’ve always been told to take them off. However it does give you a bit more confidence before entering a corner to see if some knob is going to cut you up. 😂👍
I'd always recommend taking them off and focus on what's infront. Faster riders will always find a way past and sometimes it's worse trying to second guess where they're going to go.
If you ever come to Australia, Sydney please do a walk-through of Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP)
Hey Taylor, that was awesome, just one thing tho, a tail cam facing forward showing your body positioning would have been even more awesome. I know I need to carry more speed into the corners for 2022, having most other things pretty well sorted. Your professional perspective is like Pure Gold, so thanks to you Sir. I hope you make a guest appear at a BH trackday event next year, like Shane 'Shakey' Byrne did couple years ago. Cheers
Will do dude!
@@tmac77 wicked!!!😃 Really hope so Sir👍🏻
Maybe critique viewers track day footage. Your advice is so valuable...oh I like this style of video..All the best.
Good idea!
Hey Mate loving the content all the way over here in the USA 🇺🇸 .
Can you make a video on
body position and tips on how to get your knee down .
Thanks 🙏🏻 .
Sure thing!
Enjoyed that, thank you.
😊 thanks
awesome would love to see you do some laps of Cadwell Park with some track Tips that would be Cool
😎✊🏻💥💨

Awesome 😎
@Taylor Mackenzie Lots to like so I did. In addition to the onboard, it would be useful to set the scene about the circuit and the bike first. For example you mentioned the tyres were cold, but what make, model and intent were they. Though I've been to many circuits in Spain, Ascari isn't one of those so some introduction would be useful, from your perspective preferably. I'd like to know who runs the track days there, the local airport, and what they allow on bikes.
I hope this helps you to make your videos different, interesting and useful.
🏁🏴🏍️🎆
Good thinking!
The track I'd like to see is one you probably wouldn't do, Laguna Seca. I love it there.
Id love that one day!
Thanks Taylor, great walkthrough. Curious if you have any footage for Almeria circuit. Headed there next month any can use any advice.
I possibly do somewhere I'll have a look!
Thanks
Top content 👌 more detail, I love the details. Do you fancy a go at the track record, obviously on the 'right bike?
Cadwell Park would be a winner. Let me know when and I'll even come and watch 🙂 .
I'd like a detailed commentary of the run upto, through and exit of a corner and S's. Every detail as to when you start body position, breaking, trail breaking, throttle pick up etc. Any corners would do but park and Mansfield would be great.
Are you still going to participate in the James Whitham track days?
If I get chance I'll still do some Whitham days yes 😁
This is super fascinating and educational. Thanks a lot! I'm a rather new (although old) rider, and have some questions I've like to ask you. What's the best way to get in touch with you (I'll gladly pay for your time, of course-if I can afford it 😆)?
love watching track analysis from a pro. any more vids like these with onboard footage would be much appreciated. ride safe!
More to come!
Thanks Taylor, great content, would appreciate more of these. All the best for your future career.
Thank you! Will do!
Would love to have a talk around Cadwell, Snetterton and Croft mate!
will do!
A running commentary around any track would be excellent please 👍
Noted!
Amazing information. Way too advanced for a noob like me 🤣
You need bigger mirrors the wind drag will help you heat up your tyres quicker .
Would like it done on Oulton. Maybe quick one round Croft aswel 😂
Great Vidoe Taylor, really enjoy all your content.
Can you explain a bit about footwork please? Not gear changing or breaking but things like weight distribution round corners, do you ever have all your weight on the pegs rather than seat, can you improve your cornering by using the pegs etc...
If I get chance at some point at will!
That was fun. Can you take a 250 MZ round Three Sisters in Wigan and see if you can break the lap record?
😂😂
Fresh trim on fleek 😉🙈
😂
Great video, would be useful if you could do Snetterton breaking points / talk through 👌🏻
I'll try!
Good that
Awsome video Taylor what did you think of the new Triumph?
I loved it!
Hi Taylor, loving the channel and excited to see how you get on in moto3 next year. Was just wanting to know what tyre pressures you used? Cheers mate.
I don't honestly know, Pirelli were there setting them!
Another good video Taylor, important things is though, Who has the fastest lap time? You, Billy or Joe or someone else?
There was no stop watches out I'm afraid!
Hi Taylor just wondering if you can go through rear brake usage , when and how or if at all. Like seeing you push standard road Motorcycles on the track.
I'll try and get that done at some point 😁
When you personally pay for land and build a track .The track is maximum size and safety is smaller. Not like motogp and f1 tracks it's the other way round . Maybe a 360 camera lap 👀 Thanks for the cool vids 👏👍
Cool isn't it 😎
Also, just curious how much quicker your lap was compared to Fagan's?
Fagan wasn't on this one!
@@tmac77 what about Northcott?
So it was you sir, who was stalking all the journos at the RR launch!
haha 😂
Yeah brilliant! Do it, do some more tracks driver lol
Looks like you had the track to your self should give cal another cold call should be fun
It's on the list 😂
What are you riding there Taylor? Looks very user friendly but fun at the same time.
Triumph speed triple 1200rr 😁
Portimao walkthrough please 😎
Enjoyable to see someone with skill throw a standard road bike around a circuit. Which brings me to a question that I've been meaning to ask for a while and which you are uniquely placed to answer.:
I was never interested in Motobike racing in the 80's and 90's because it looked like the riders were sat bolt upright and playing "chicken" into the corners". During Niel Hodgeson's era, the knee was down but the rider was mostly upright. In the modern day racing the rider is completely hanging off. You are an exponent of that style. Its far more athletic and the spectator can clearly see the limit. What drove that change in style through the generations?
a=v^2 / r
It's mainly due to tyres having increased grip 😊
That’s a bit strange, not being interested in bike racing because of the riding style at the time?
@@mbal4052 well the riding style at the time seemed to be a case of who would take more liberties with the other riders rather than how people leaned the bike. It just looked ugly and aggressive.
Ascari looks a great track, really enjoyed watching this Taylor, just a quick question, how much pressure do you guys feel knowing you’re riding a bike that isn’t yours, does that enter into your thoughts ever when you’re blasting it round a fast track on average weather conditions? I only ask because I reckon it would worry the hell out of me! 😆
It definitely enters my head as I've got it wrong once in my life and that was enough to scare me 😂
@@tmac77 oh shite, sorry for reliving bad memories mate..😂
Awesome content. Could do you the same for Cadwell please?
Definitely 😁
@@tmac77 Thanks 👍🏻 walked past you at the NEC last weekend, was going to say hello but wasn't sure how you'd react.
That look like a great circuit. The surface looks immaculate and it flows really nicely
It was!
Hi Taylor any videos on monteblanco Spain
I don't actually have any footage from there maybe next year
