I try to view life as 3 main cogs - one cog for work (e.g. school, job etc), one cog for relationships (e.g. family, friends) and the other cog is health (exercise, diet). This means that all of these areas are interconnected So, if there is stress in the context of work (e.g. stress in response to the workload, exams or whatever), it's important to make sure the other areas of our life are not comprised, so still meeting up with friends, talking to family, exercising, having a good diet etc. I know that just talking to people I know able exams can reduce a lot of stress for me. And I know this is an abstract explanation, but there's solid scientific research showing that ensuring the other areas (or cogs) don't lag behind, we can minimise negative impacts of stress A moderate level of stress is actually a good motivator, we just don't want it to become too extreme
