    Progression is a great concept. However, what happens when you enter prep and there are som many variables influencing performance such as the obvious being calories, others involve hydration fluctuations, cortisol as well as greater risk for injury as your muscles are drier and more prone to breakage. You still will put on muscle mass in that state where weight progression in the amount of weights used is not increasing. Therefore, I do not really focus on it every time.

      When dieting, it's a clever game of holding onto what you can. Minimal loss of strength as possible and holding tissue. Managing output amd recovery. It becomes a fine balance for sure vs off season. Especially towards the end.

  • @Joe-xo3xy
    @Joe-xo3xy หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree with the spotting by 5% to get to maximal effort but you cannot write off a good pump from metabolites as you would see from high volume guys like jay, Derek etc. I am in the Dorian camp of all pumpers can f...off. However, certain body parts need that volumisation to bring about temporary size increase which helps over the long term, so I feel and that is is the foundation of high volume or Milos will say, Sarcoplasmic training. Best of both worlds. Therefore, dropping weight and having reps to later go into failure also has benefit of the pump vs a hard drop that can cause too much of a muscle break down and slow down recovery

    @IFBB PRO JAMESHOLLINGSHEAD-I was in a bad place when I had to find a new way in bodybuilding, you know how it is when your plan stops working. I went into upper and lower splits, JPs video also gave me some ideas, I am a heavy weight, natural and now thinking of competing. This minimal split allows you to grow like no mans business, I grew like a weed. I have also combined it with Dorian's principles of HIT.
    As Connor said, it just works. Watch, as soon as you go back to bro split, you will see less results. i do not believe in frequency, James you are spot on with more intensity in 1 session, you are better off

    The days I go into the gym, I drop everything, it is like going on an away trip to play rugby; That is my physical event of the day not for an hour, for the day. Quality over quantity, I'd rather go into the gym 2 or 3 times a week and put in quality work.
