    So i calculated the real performance in this demo, rtx 4090 (92fps) without fake frames, rtx 5090 without 3 fake frames between 2 frames = (132 fps ) that's about 43% increase in performance which is not too bad .

      Only in heavy RT loads by the way

    • @LukewarmEnthusiast
      @LukewarmEnthusiast 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      30% faster RT and the other 13% is from more AI TOPS for DLSS. Rasterization is likely only a 25% improvement. But I can' t see rasterization being a selling point of a card in this performance tier. It's already absurdly fast. Rasterization is pretty much "solved" at the 5080 or even 5070ti level.

      @@LukewarmEnthusiastNo way, you just said what i was saying for two years after 40 series launch " raster is useful just to certain point around rtx 4080 after which it sees diminishing returns." And as a rtx 4090 user i thought i just need 30% more RT performance, dont care about raster whatsoever and i am all set for 4k 120fps singleplayer with maxed out settings. Now the crazy thing, my demand can be satisfied with 5070ti already and its only $749.

    We saw this demo in person (most are running on our Talon systems) and DLSS 4 was just amazing! Exactly what Marco said is what we saw: hugely faster framerates, WITH noticeably superior image quality at the same time. And we saw this on other titles they were demoing like Black Myth Wukong as well. Incredible tech from 50-Series!

      The thing that bothers me is: Wouldnt the RTX3000 - 4000 cards also be able to perform DLSS4 with their hardware? Is it software locked? Technically the 5000 cards do not seem like a hardware upgrade.

    I like real rasterization too, but a 30% or so uplift in raw rasterization and a massive leap in DLSS/FG tech. This is a decent upgrade if you can ignore the negative hype. Prior to 20 series you got some uplift on rasterization and that was it. Now we get decent uplift in raster and a much improved DLSS. Nothing to complain about especially if you are coming from 30 series or older.

      Hard to tell from those recorded screens if the improvement over dssl3 is significant, it stands that it still is not as good as natively rendered. Also latency with MFG is EVEN higher than FG gen 1. Furthermore it can’t be used for VR which is the only edge case that benefits from a GPU faster than a 4090. It will take some time until people understand the tradeoff that NVIDIA is trying to sell as an improvement.

    I wish people would ask the real questions that matter, how much input lag compared to native does all this DLSS and Multi-Frame gen add. A game can looks beautiful, but if the games unplayable cause from the time I move the mouse till the action is performed on screen is too long, it just simply doesn't matter.

    • @NGEvangeliman
      @NGEvangeliman 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, but it's not that they can't ask it. They have to test it. And the embargo hasn't lifted yet, so if they are given sa.ples to test. They need to first test it, and then make a video. Some could leak it early but then it would probably cost them access to the test cards in the future. I imagine they will be at least bit faster than last year's cards in normal rendering. And from yhe few games we have seen dlss 4 seems like a better dlss. Frame gen is currently not for competitive games. I dont like to use it it right now on a 4080 but if the cyberpunk gameplay is what it looks like now I might just give it a chance is single player games.

    • @garypinholster1962

      @@NGEvangeliman Frame gen isn't even good in singleplayer titles. Stalker 2 is a prime example. Even with top tier hardware and FG at 4k the games input lag is insane. You can't play a shooter game like that at all. Maybe games like Skyrim... but you aren't using FG on skyrim with a 4090/5090. I know my question is WAY more for the niche 4k crowd, but that's what I need to know. I need to know that, sure we get 240 FPS at 4k with DLSS and MFG, but what does that do to the input lag. If it's just as bad as stalker 2 is atm, it's gonna be a terrible experience.

    • @andreasringlstetter1719
      @andreasringlstetter1719 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's making things worse, actually. Because the DLSS4 model is not just interpolating frames, it's also extrapolating if you dare to turn on MFG (which NVidia will likely default to). 2 frames are predicted, 1 frame is used to smooth the (wrong) predication back into the next "real" frame. So not only does it accidentally smooth out movements that shouldn't be smooth (like reacting to opposing player inputs), it also (albeit only intermediately) projects stuff to positions it never could have gotten to. I.e. you literally will get ghosting where projectiles will occasionally just appear to penetrate the target and alike.
      When ramped to max, MFG may actually give you:
      - Two frames of mis-prediction, omitting a change in the scene.
      - One more frame dedicated just to hiding the previous mis-prediction.
      - Two more frames where MFG ignores your input.
      - One more frame where your input is still beeing sneakily adapted.
      Effectively, you are going to lag up to 6 frames behind, as you first got 3 frames of false data, and then another 3 frames till your input is correctly applied. All that just from MFG.
      On top of that, ray reconstruction has another 5-10 (real) frames worth of "smearing" until GI properly updates (compared to classic SSAO which adds 0 frames of latency), which leads not to "ghost objects" but also to very noticeable and confusing "ghost shadows" that e.g. incorrectly hint at an obstacle in a door and alike.
      All that is fine if you target a native 100 FPS or so, and use the rest just for extra smooth display on a 200Hz+ display. But try that on a 60Hz panel, and the results are just worthy of weeping.

    • @filippetrovic845
      @filippetrovic845 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@garypinholster1962You talk about something you dont know. My experience on 4090 and even 4060 laptop was flawless, just target 70+ fps when FG is available and turn it on and its just heaven on earth to play around 110fps. Its in fact comparable to online game, for example cs 2 or valorant players have average of 40ms latency and dlss 3.5 adds 50ms while dlss 4 adds 58ms. Then, because you are pushing really good base fps (like 100fps) you're shaving some delay and you get output of 400fps, thats life-like level of smoothness on oled which has almost nonexistent input lag and ghosting.

      40 series, can only do 1 A.I. frame at a time.
      50 series, can do 2 A.I. frames at the same time.
      Thus, the sheer power needed to get high frames, that the EXTRA free frame 50 series gets, w/o the need for raw power is the reason why.
      So, if the 5070 gets 30 fps in a game and the 4090 gets a total of 40 in it then, we add in the A.I. frames (Frame Gen) 4090 goes to 80 fps (1 Natural + 1 A.I. = 2 frames/sec) while, the 5070 goes to 90 fps (1 Natural + 2 A.I. = 3 frames/sec)
