it does still look like cgi not real life.. for the average consumer its probably not noticeable.. but for anyone who knows what to look for its very easy to spot cgi clips.. very impressive work tho and very well done.. the car acceleration and deceleration and also the road being smooth and not having even the smallest of pumps makes it look unnatural.. like in some shots it just feels like the car is weightless and not like a huge mass is accelerating. thats what gives it away these tiny details
DUDE! This is incredible! Especially straight out of Unreal. The only reason I could pick in some shots that it was CG vs actual Live footage was the lack of body roll in the cars during cornering or suspension lift during acceleration. But there is only ever so much time you can put into a production and I'm sure these things could easily be added with an infinitely long time line. All in all though it GORGEOUS work and you should be REALLY proud of what you've done here.
Thank you dude for this amazing feedback!! It was just a personal project, and yea definitely a lot of things could be improved if there was budget! It is insane light study and cool re-creation. I am working now of far more epic stuff, but unfortunately I cant make breakdowns of these projects due to NDA restrictions. And those personal projects/recreations is just for TH-cam content and showing how to achieve this sort of render. Appreciate your feedback and such comments push to make more content like this
I have finished your masterclass for automotive and I must say that I leaned more than expected, definitely recommend for others to take advantage of that course. Thank you for the great content!
The shots of the static car are perfect! But the only thing that gives me a feeling of render is the car movements: are too smooth and the suspension doesn't work as it should. All the other stuff is really good
Excellent work. I am curious, which glass material are you using on your models for the primary glass on the car? The glass from the Automotive Materials Pack has translucency problems with newer releases of UE 5.2+. Even with High Tangent settings. Most likely a problem with engine changes on the software I think.
it is glass from Automotive Material pack with some tweaks such as transmission color (to give some greenish tint) and some roughness/specular scale adjustment. But yes, it is automotive materials pack

It really depends on scene and env. This open environment was about a minute per frame if rendered in 4K, so 3 second sequence is about an hour. Tunnel was about 2 seconds per frame - as it was Lumen. Really depends on various factors
@postprocessed hi I am running into a problem after completing your automotive course which is very good I tried to render a cinematic in city sample so the problem is car can't stick to the surface there so no automatic suspension do you know how to fix this? help plz
Hi! i have a question. For your "CAR ANIMATION IN UNREAL ENGINE | Production Pipeline" video how do you export the physical, skeletalmesh, control rig, and skeleton in one and move it to another level to use when ever you want? i REALLY DO NOT WANT TO REDO THE CODING.
Well. I will put it this way: You ANYWAY need to learn at least a bit of Blender to work with UE. And blender also can be optimized really well. So I would go for blender first place
But if you need only to drop some props into the scene, set up cameras and lighting - unreal the way to go. So. If you want to be a CG/3D artist, with modelling and etc. But if putting props, cameras, trying light setup - is something you are looking for - Unreal is the way to go and in Lumen you can have realtime if you do so optimization and you will get faster result of already good quality picture. It's a hard question tbh. First you need to understand what is your goal
This is just crazy, Somehow for some scenes I like yours even better than original. Obv for those which I dont like, You would def make it even better if you have more time. But this is insanely amazing
I am a bad example and don't follow this advice: In the beginning I've spent around 12-14 hours a day constantly working in UE for about 3-4 months before I got to nice results. I liked to explore, dive deep, create custom solutions for lighting and etc. I sometimes forgot to eat and went to sleep at 2-3 am, I was just really excited and passionate about it. I would recommend 3-4 hours a day and dedicate it to some specific part: one week for environments. One week for lighting animation Camera etc. So you get the point) In couple moths you will get very nice results
