Another theory I had for what this song is about, it's about a person falling in and out of love with a narcissist. Moments of clarity ("you knew this was gonna end in tears") then being reeled back in by manipulation ("no one loves you like I love you") etc. And narcissists are often a cult of one, hence the cult like imagery and corelation
Would love to hear BMTH reactions more often on this channel. My fav albums are still Sempiternal and That’s the Spirit but they have made bangers in every stage of their careers

"Drink the Kool-Aid" - I associate with the Jonestown massacre in 1978 when 917 people died many from poisoned drink made on the orders of the cult leader.
Weirdly the actual drink was "Flavor Aid" but Kool-Aid took the rap.
They've been more trend setter's than music follower's. Oli makes music for how he's feeling at the time. Like what he's going through. They've done a song recently with Daryl from glassjaw and Lil Uzi vert. Sounds odd, but it really works. It's called. AmEN. Think you'll like that 1. This 1 is actually in the top 20. Probably the 1st song with full growl vocals in the song . Mental. That's what they aim for. Not being radio friendly, but getting metal more on the radio.🤪 Seeing them live on Friday with bad omens, and can't wait to hear this 1. So many styles they've done tho. Darkside is another recent 1. Very different again. And they've done a Collab with corpse. And everyone on the planet. 😂Even Ed Sheeran. Live at the Brit awards. That was cool.

I think a few people have already covered what the song is about in the comments but just on the drugs thing, they do talk about drugs in a few songs but i believe all the members are clean as Oli has openly spoke about how he used to be a serious ketamine addict when he was younger and went to rehab for it because it was ruining his life and his family, friends and band were beginning to hate him
I think the opening verse of LosT is a big reference to that time

Hospital for Souls is a seriously heartfelt song about your first part.
The song is about an leader of a group that made the believers drink something that was like "Kool-Aid" but there were some poison in it and they died. So, probably te message in there is about how people drink the "Kool-Aid" (an metaphoric reference) without knowing the consequences of puttin the whole confidence in one religion, person, etc...

tbh since Sempiternal Bring Me doesn't follow the rules of the scene, they define it, lot of bands tried to reproduce their sound for the last decade. It's influenced by a lot of things like every artists, but if you pay attention to the details on everything you realize how awesome is their art on every layer

Anything from the Royal Albert Hall concert with the full orchestra is also amazing and might be one of the best concerts ever. It's on YT.
