      @@deansusec8745 that's why i hate Rolex, manipulated by the market , wish one day it doesn't get the hype anymore and i'll see all those people who buy Rolexes rushing to sell off their so called 'investments'. Buying a luxury item just for pure investment but not enjoying and knowing them is just dumb.

    • @TheLolilike
      @TheLolilike 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @User 2389 Watches are poor man's investment. There are stocks, crypto, commodities out there in the market which can make so much more money for those who care about such things.
      Otherwise when people say 'better value' they mean VFM when buying something. At $4k Aqua Terra offers roughly as much value for a watch as $9k Datejust, so it has a much better VFM hence it is a better value purchase.

    Great review. Just got mine recently and it hits on all points. The small links give enough room for a good fit. If you don't like the polished metal links you can have a good jeweler brush them. I have bigger wrists (7.5 ") and it's just right and it even looks great on smaller wrist, those end links just contour down. It's a low key luxury watch that stands out...but not in a blingy way.

    I love the AT so much! I have the 2015 stainless steel vertical “decking” and date at 3pm with gold indices and hands with brown leather strap and it is my favourite watch in my collection!

  • @gpearce11
    @gpearce11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    A personal favourite, and my grail watch that I hope to actually afford one day (unlike my other grail, the VC Overseas). Literally the only think stopping this from being a prefect watch is the absence of a micro-adjustment on the bracelet, or some form of quick release.
    That said, the recent Constellation bracelet update includes a 2mm micro-adjust, so here's hoping Omega updates the AT bracelet with that soon.

    • @dasmesser1
      @dasmesser1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Omega Globemaster desperately needs micro-adjustment capacities

    • @gpearce11
      @gpearce11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dasmesser1 All the Omega double fold clasps need it. Thankfully, the extension on the Constellation bracelet is part of the folding arms, not the clasp itself (quite ingenious really), so it should easily retrofit onto other clasps.

      Love the watch, but they can make it better by:
      -Fixing the design of the bracelet, give it micro adjustment on the same level as Rolex
      -Make it in higher grade steel and give it a Rhodium-like dial and make it thinner

    • @mariog7213
      @mariog7213 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only thing I like better about the 8500 is that it’s 1mm thinner. Other than that, the 8900 is an improvement in every sense. I also think it looks so much cleaner with the date at 6 and I love the jumó hour feature

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mariog7213 I think many people share your feelings about the 8900. The 8500 does also have the quick set hour hand feature. I think the lug and case design of the 8500 is more beautiful and sculpted looking, but I do find the 8900 more comfortable due to the shorter lugs and better clasp.

    Perfect in so many ways. What I don't like though, is that there is next to no curvature on the lugs. They should at least curve down so that the first articulation of the bracelet sits around the plane of the bottom of the caseback. No human has a concave wrist right? It only makes utter sense to do it that way, but Omega hasn't here. The very short lug to lug and female end links makes up for it a bit. But still. They could have fixed it with a thinner movement, then without changing the case design even. Alternatively, with sharply curved male end links, or a more curved case and lugs overall.
