I saw one in a museum, nice design
Roman a fost produs in Romania cu acordul RABA din Ungaria ce a produs la randul ei camioane sub licenta MAN. Practic Romania a cumparat licenta la a 3-a mana. Intial, Uzinele Roman de la Brasov a fost doar linie de asamblare pentru componentele importate din Ungaria produse de Uzinele RABA. Ulterior, pentru a reduce cheltuielile, s-a decis ca absolut toate componentele sa fie produse in Romania, si astfel ROMAN Brasov a produs "Rabele" si "Saviemurile" arhicunoscute in urmatoarele decenii, cand usor usor au inceput sa fie inlocuite cu marci occidentale incepand cu anii '90. Pe vremea comunismului, cine avea "Raba" cu componente unguresti, mai ales cu vestita punte heavy-duty, era un zeu. Se dadeau spagi grase pe la autobaze sa lucrezi pe Roman Diesel cu componente unguresti.
