After reading through a dozen of his books, I must say half of it is nonsensical speculation (the religious part) but the scientific half that deals with linguistics is actually quite convincing. And the dude wasn't a hack, he was really a Sumer expert. Having read his books, I do think Hungarians have a Sumerian connection through the Scythians. It's a really dry read though.

The problem with this, is that currently noone is a first nation people here, except the Basques. Indo - Europeans were newcomers too. Other Uralic peoples, like the ancestors of Finns arrived the same time they did. Furthermore Indo - Europeans were not white in the modern sense either, but darker, like Persians. There's been genetic testing done on the burials of the IE tribes and from this testing we can conclude that the darkest amongst IE cultures like the Yamnaya, Sinstashta, etc. would have had an intermediate skin tone, but they ranged from being intermediate in skin tone to pale like modern-day Swedes. They also had significant - although not majority - concentrations of certain 'white' phenotypes like blonde hair and blue eyes, somewhere around 25-50% iirc, depending on which culture and time of the IE. I imagine if you surveyed all European populations today, from Norway to Italy, you'd get a number of blonde hair and blue eyes quite similar to the 25-50% mark, or even exactly within that range.

The problem with this, is that currently noone is a first nation people here, except the Basques. Indo - Europeans were newcomers too. Other Uralic peoples, like the ancestors of Finns arrived the same time they did. Furthermore Indo - Europeans were not white in the modern sense either, but darker, like Persians. The "European phenotype" is older than language groups.

No, Indo-Europeans wouldn't have been "dark, like Persians", as the Persians are quite mixed with Arabs and other such darker tribes. There's been genetic testing done on the burials of the IE tribes and from this testing we can conclude that the darkest amongst IE cultures like the Yamnaya, Sinstashta, etc. would have had an intermediate skin tone, but they ranged from being intermediate in skin tone to pale like modern-day Swedes. They also had significant - although not majority - concentrations of certain 'white' phenotypes like blonde hair and blue eyes, somewhere around 25-50% iirc, depending on which culture and time of the IE. I imagine if you surveyed all European populations today, from Norway to Italy, you'd get a number of blonde hair and blue eyes quite similar to the 25-50% mark, or even exactly within that range.

The detected amount of WHG admixture makes sense once you realize that the WHG's closest ethnic group, being the EHG, held the Baltics as their core territory up until the invasions of the Yamnaya.
