Great video! I've been checking my thrift store with no luck but I'll keep hunting til I find a score like yours! Once I do I'll be back to watch this again 🙃
Great tutorial, really made the process simple for someone like me who has never tried this! Didn't have a list of 12 items I need to buy, very inexpensive way to update a lamp or vase. I am a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Beautiful looking for a shaped lamp like this to revamp into a vase! Quick ?: what’s Tool you use to pop off the base of the lamp and after that do you just pull out the cords where the lightbulb would be attached if that Magee sense wish TH-cam would allow pictures lol
I’ve flipped some of the same lamps but not with cinnamon. I’ve used brown makeup pigment and then seal. Idk something about food/spice doesn’t sit right. Still, This turned out great!
Beautiful work! One question though...what did you do with the electric cord after you removed the base, as that allowed for the lamp to not sit on the cord?
That vessel is dirty, spicy and sensational! ❤ it. Now l know l'm not so crazy, when l raid our spice rack and use left over tea bags to attack my art pieces. 🙏
Hi! I have tried it but I find the product doesn’t stay as well if it’s going to be touch but if you do it on a vase and leave it then I don’t see why not!
Not gonna lie, I really loved this one before you added dark colors. I’m starting to think that the dirt and cinnamon process has kinda played out already. Might just be me. 😂 But that white, textured finish was classic and beautiful! ❤
I loved that base! I know it doesn’t look like something from Pottery Barn… Also, You made a point of wiping this lamp that you brought down with germ killing wipes just to add dirt from your backyard later that doesn’t even make sense .
Hi! Do you have any recommendations for alternative products that work like the Valspar glaze? I can’t find it at any hardware stores near me or online
Loved your video tutorial. I was wondering how you got your base off the electrical cord? I have lamp base that I want to remove but the electrical is good and I don't want to cut it, how did you remove your off the cord?
Hiii! I actually did have to cut the cord because I couldn’t figure out how to get it off either. I bought new stuff! So glad you loved it! Thanks for being here!
What did you do with the main bar of the lamp shade that comes out of the bottom of the lamp? After I pried the base off the bottom the lamp shade sits cock-eyed because the main bar has nothing to attach to
I do use flat. But I am actually about to Roman clay the walls. They hold up fine but it’s from a new build paint so I’m sure they used the cheapest paint they could find😂
Hi!! I just rub it on dry.! But honestly you can do both! And getting it wet wouldn’t be a bad idea! It would be the same idea as when I get the dirt wet to create mud! 🤎
I love it!!! Im going to try this on a vessel soon!! So glad i found your channel. Thank you for sharing! ✨💕
Ahhh so glad you are here!! Cannot wait to see it!
I actually like the crackle "before" effect.
I did too actually!!
So much better after! Loved this DIY. Thanks for walking us through the process in so much detail. ❤
You are so welcome!
Most beautiful aged lamp flip I see on TH-cam!!
Oh my gosh!! Thank you so so so much that means a lot! It’s probably one of my favorite DIYs to date! Thank you!!
Gorgeous lamp ❤❤
I use old coffee grounds instead of dirt. Works great and smells great with the cinnamon. Your lamp is beautiful!
OH MY GOSHHHH THAT IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!
Oh, I love that idea! I’m not a big fan of cinnamon but the two scents together, yes! Dirt, not so much, lol!!
Sooo I had no idea where she was going with this. I was super nervous and thenn I screamed YASSSSSSSS WOW OMG LOL. This looks so darn good girl!
Ahhhhh thanks girl!!!!!!
Great video! I've been checking my thrift store with no luck but I'll keep hunting til I find a score like yours! Once I do I'll be back to watch this again 🙃
Ahh thank you!! And yes, hold out till you find the most perfect lamp, it truly makes all the difference in the finished product!

Ahhh thank you!! So glad you are here!
Hi Brittany, I just found your channel, and have recently gotten into DIY-ing lamps, 'aged vessels'', etc. so had to sub!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Enhorabuena por tu trabajo.
Una pregunta..las sillas del salón dónde las has comprado?...me encantan❤
Wow!

Beautiful work! One question though...what did you do with the electric cord after you removed the base, as that allowed for the lamp to not sit on the cord?
I eventually just put an Amazon puck light in it !
That vessel is dirty, spicy and sensational! ❤ it. Now l know l'm not so crazy, when l raid our spice rack and use left over tea bags to attack my art pieces. 🙏
Beautiful work
Thank you for sharing
How do you clean (dust) these diy lamps?
Thank you
Thank you! I don’t 🤪🤪 but now you have me thinking….
Good tutorial. Could I do this method on metal Pot.
Hi! I have tried it but I find the product doesn’t stay as well if it’s going to be touch but if you do it on a vase and leave it then I don’t see why not!

This video was over a year ago.
I loved that base! I know it doesn’t look like something from Pottery Barn…
Also,
You made a point of wiping this lamp that you brought down with germ killing wipes just to add dirt from your backyard later that doesn’t even make sense .
Well I am SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!!!
Anything you are using now besides the black antique glaze? I can’t find it at my local hardware store and don’t even see it online.
Hi! Do you have any recommendations for alternative products that work like the Valspar glaze? I can’t find it at any hardware stores near me or online
I would get any kinda glaze! I know they have it at Lowe’s and Home Depot or even try Amazon!
Love this and I have a lamp to try it out! Can I do the same process if I want the lamp to be more of a black colour?
Yessss!!! I have done it so many times on black! Hoping to have a video up this next week on black lamps with this process. It’s stunning!
Thank you for stopping by!! Tag me if you recreate this DIY!!
Beautiful lamp! Do you rub on the cinnamon in it’s dry form or add water to make it into a paint/paste consistency?
Would this work on glass?
Valspar glaze... That is a sealer, right?
This is just amazing! I’m planning on doing this to two large lamps. So, it really doesn’t crumble or flake off? Can I spray polyurethane on it?
It has never flaked off it’s on pretty dang good. Looks so high end too.
Can you show how to detach the cord?
I'm assuming you can do the same thing with black paint?
Yes!! I’ve done it so many times! Same technique. If you look at my thrift flip video I did a vase the same way!
What did you do with the main bar of the lamp shade that comes out of the bottom of the lamp? After I pried the base off the bottom the lamp shade sits cock-eyed because the main bar has nothing to attach to
Hi! So sorry I thought I responded. I actually threw away what came with the lamp and got a new Harp for it because I was having the same issue.
You use flat paint on your walls? Curious to know how well they wash up in flat?
I do use flat. But I am actually about to Roman clay the walls. They hold up fine but it’s from a new build paint so I’m sure they used the cheapest paint they could find😂
do you mix the cinnamon with water before applying it onto the lamp or do you rub the cinnamon on in its dry form?
Hi!! I just rub it on dry.! But honestly you can do both! And getting it wet wouldn’t be a bad idea! It would be the same idea as when I get the dirt wet to create mud! 🤎
@@Oliviaatlashome thanks so much!!!
It was perfect when you bought the lamp. I would have put some mosaic mirror glass on it. Or paint it a different color. But to each it's own.
Cinnamon is expensive lol dirt is fine. Tbh the first level of paint was good too!
I found pottery lamp dupe for 20$ clay 😊
That’s amazing! What a steal!!!
Freaking good
Thank you soooo much! 🤎
YOU RUINED A PERFECT LAMP.!..IT LOOKED MUCH BETTER BEFORE YOU CHANGED IT!! MY OPINION!
Your opinion, and you are entitled to it!
@@Oliviaatlashomeyou did a great job, before lamp looks old , and after so much better, looks expensive!!! 🥳
