I just diyed my bedroom lamps and I really like the way they turned. For anyone wanting to try this just know that it will look bad at first but don't give up. Continue to layer with paint ,dirt, cinnamon etc. Also put the electric cord in a plastic bag and hold in place with tape. This keeps the cord clean and free from paint.
Any suggestions for replacing the bottom cardboard or whatever they use at the bottom of a lamp, sometimes that is so gross on an old lamp but I didn't know if it needs to be a non flamable covering? Love your video and all the lamps, heading to the Goodwill store soon!
They all turned out great! The bigger lamp is my favorite. I did this to a couple of my planters and they look great too. I used the dirt technique that you did in a previous video. This one looks like it would be a lot less work.
Love Jenna Pierce's channel, and I literally just thrifted three vases and a lamp this weekend to do the 'aged vessel' look with them. It is not as easy as you guys make it seem, lol. But after watching this video, and Jenna's 2-3x, I'm getting there, lol.
Your voice is so soothing! 😌 My fave 💕is the black buffet lamp! Simple, but nice! However, you did a great job on the others and I’m learning a thing or two!😉
I have one of the tiniest kitchens ever & a few months ago I put a small/ med. One on the end corner of my counter top & now I wonder why I never thought of it sooner I love it & looks so pretty in the evening with just a 15 w bulb
I really enjoy your channel. Your content is interesting and valuable. But really, your calm voice and pace is always soothing to me. Great colors, great diys, great cohesiveness… you just do great.
Wow! They are all very beautiful! I love how you used the different textures to individual lamp. I am definitely going to do that. Great job! And thank you for this amazing video! You rock! I have to say, the bigger lamp was my favorite.
I really enjoyed watching this group of lamp projects! I have been looking for a metal lamp like the one you lucked out with forever. I don’t know what it is about it, probably the shape, but I’m always on the hunt for one. On the last project when you were having trouble getting the mortar to stick, I wonder if a coat of your spray paint put on first would help it adhere? You could use black because you would cover it up anyway.
They do have the Studio McGee style ones in some Targets (in-store). I haven't ever seen any like it in thrift stores which made me jump when I saw the one I found😄 They're out there, you can always try ebay too!
Great diy inspiration. I went to my local thrift store and found the perfect lamp for $5.50 and when I went to pay it was 1/2 so only cost $2.25. It’s big like yours. Thanks!
Really nice. Liked all 3! Loved the shapes of all of them. I did the joint compound on a vase diy and i think i need some more practice invthe painting. Yes, i watch Jenna Pierce, too and she also does a good job with the painting as you do, too. Painting takes practice in my opinion.
I know what you mean, I was unsure at first if it'd look that great but I just kept with it and it really does take a lot of layering! You'll get it, just keep working at it! 🙂
I suppose you could. The glossy finish on the lamp made it difficult to adhere anything to, bt maybe spraying some primer before a coat of joint compound would help with adhesion!
Very nicely done. And rather than using Saran wrap and this and that and tape and everything else, when I have something to paint, such as a lamp, I get a paper plate cut the exact size of hole for the stem and then cut the plate in half so you can kind of put it around the stem and lift it either up or down to the part that you don't want painted and you don't need all that tape and wrapping and stuff
These diy's are great and I like them all. A great way to keep your cords clean is to tape them off. Just lay a piece of tape straight over the cord and fold it over. Wrapping the tape takes too long. No need to tape the whole cord, just enough to protect it from getting painted.
In my opinion, It's all preference. For my decor, I just do what I love. I try not to worry about "trends". I feel the most happy with my home when I walk through it and feel comfort and joy. The trick to things not feeling so generic is to try and find pieces you really love and value. Mementos from trips, photos, personalizing your home to really fit you and those you live with. Really finding what excites you and makes you feel joy. I hope this helps! These are things I try to remember when decorating my home.
@@ValerieAguiar good answer. My preference is French Provincial but that my be too over the top for some people. My neighbor said I have "champagne taste". I think the end of that phrase is "and a poor man's budget". It's true I don't have original Louis IV furniture, I do enjoy drifted and DIY look alikes. I get the look without draining the wallet. But I'm happy with it, it's just my personal taste. She might be a bit jealous or intimidated (not my intention).
That is what makes design and decor so fun is it's all perspective. Everyone has their own taste and style and I think that's wonderful! I tend to love the higher end style too, it's not always feasible with a tight budget (for me) but I find joy in creating so that is what I love to do. If you can, save up and splurge for a really special piece and it will mean so much more.
@@ValerieAguiar thank you for that tip. I'll work on. I've saved hundreds if pins on Pinterest. A lot of nice.pieces are..on eBay, Cherish, etc. Fortunately I haven't learned how to bid yet. Or I would have rooms jammed with things! Valerie, Rustoleum metallic gold spray paint is my best friend!
Hi Amy! Aw, I can see where you're coming from! I look at it as giving them a new life! They can always evolve and change into different pieces to match your personal style ! Hope you have a great Friday! 💕
Love you and Jenna's channel so much!
Thank you! So glad you enjoy the videos! 😉💕
Love them all especially the last one w/ the mortar and joint compound so cool!!!!!!!!
That little one is such a cutie! The fork method is a great way to add some detail! 😄💕
@@ValerieAguiar I agree!!!

I loved all of them!❤
Thank you!!
I love your lamps !! I've been out looking for lamps today so you've gave me some great ideas. 💜
You're welcome Joan! I always love trying to repurpose before buying a new one!
I have done one in brownish... it was beige already and it looks great in my dining area. It already had the "fork" dents.
Love it! those warmer tones have my heart! 😍
They look great, I always tape off the cord and the metal top bits with tape and a bag so you don’t get paint mess all over it when you spray.
That's a great tip! Thanks Jennifer! 😉
Hi Valerie! I loved all of them, the last one was adorable! With just joint compound,it looked like a little mummy!.. hehe...
Thanks Leslie! It was a little cutie for sure!😄
Sooooo good! I'm going to try this, but I'm so bad at DIYing things.
You got this! The more you do things, the easier they get! So happy you're here Ingrid!💕

The second is an all metal lamp 😉

Three interesting projects! In the last one, could you have just used joint compound?
I suppose you could. The glossy finish on the lamp made it difficult to adhere anything to, bt maybe spraying some primer before a coat of joint compound would help with adhesion!
Very cool!
Thanks Deborah! 💕
I absolutely loved the first one!! ( too much work for me though, lol)

Me gusta mucho la primera lampara. Pero me gustaba más cuando estaba por la mitad, que no quedaba tan oscura
Thx. I really liked this style.in 2020 but is it still popular for 2022? It's simple and.clean but so generic.
