Great intro,Trevor. It's been a great experience 👍😎. I love all the research you were able to do. The reference material you have provided is priceless and will help anyone correcting this kit. Thank you very much 👍😎. I've found a nice Cobra airfilter in a 68 Mustang GT kit by revell 👍😎
Glad you enjoyed it. I know I posted this same video on my other channel, and the other parts of the series will be here as well. At this stage I am working on the 6th video and almost finished the NASCAR. Hope it looks good when it's done and that the glass won't be an issue...I'm really hoping for that!
The drag racing headers can be used if you slice a little height out of them. One thing not covered in the video is to watch out for curved chassis. I have a handful of these from over the years and two of them have a curve at the back of the chassis that makes them unbuildable unless you swap in a different one. Great video. 🎉
Glad you liked my video...there is more corrections to come! Yes, it is possible to reduce the height of the drag headers somewhere in the middle of the angle of the collector portion, but right out of the parts tree, they will hit the ground. As for the curved chassis, I did not experience that with my 2 kits, so I had nothing to go on. Thank you for pointing it out. I wish I had a solution.
@@rmxrider20032000 But isn't there 1 issues with that one? The first being that it's a Revell kit. The second being that it is a dragster (Unless you are building a dragster.)
@@monsterhobbies it's where I'm starting, also gonna look at the AMT Fairlane/ Comet chassis. I had a 69 Torino years ago but not the fast back, I've got the resin body for it and want a lot more detail than the stock AMT Torino chassis can provide. Something will fit, with enough work anyways.
@@rmxrider20032000 For sure! Good luck on your build and I hope you catch my other build videos to find the faults and how to fix them with this model before beginning your project. Let me be your guide.
It would be nice if they looked into it again and possibly reworked the entire kit (Or started over completely) to the quality of their 1966 Ford Fairlane and Mercury Comet kits. One idea would be to make one master mold with a few separate parts trees that included parts so AMT could purpose the Fairlane, The Fairlane Cobra, The Torino and The Mercury Cyclone from the one mold. Then we, the model builders, could get the 4 cars eventually. AMT could even leave the side trim off entirely and print it and the different scripts on the decal sheets instead.
I used the Thunderbolt chassis . A little trimming but works great.
Sounds like a good idea!

@@monsterhobbies the glass I've got looks like it's from the wrong kit,the 'fit' is missing🤔
Interesting.
@@monsterhobbies it's a spare part and much better than the amt part. It has better vent flap and o ring detail👍nice headers in the GT kit too👍👍😎
I wonder if I have that kit?

There's a lot of issues with that kit. You would think Round2 would get this kit squared away.
