My GPU keeps crashing when testing mods on a game. I put in the mod(s) and start the game to test if the mods are working then close the game again if they don't work. This can sometimes cause my GPU to crash and I have to restart my PC for it to work again. When I start the game everything on the screen gets really big for a few seconds before the game starts, because the aspect ratio changes, probably because it's an old game (GTA3) and I had to put it into compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows me and make it run in 640x480 resolution mode *AND* run as administrator for the game to even work. My PC does not have the best specs either so that probably doesn't help. 8GB of installed RAM, an i5 processor and a NVIDIA GFORCE GT 710. Thank you for sharing this information, I will subscribe to you!
Same problem while watching movies on vlc , no issues while playing games on ultra settings??? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Only 4 months remaining warranty on my gpu. Using collermaster g700 psu !
It is a voltage problem due to high consumption, if your power supply is of good wattage, the problem may be in the cable that powers the graphics card, it is misplaced, the contact is bad despite even believing that it is well connected. If the problem persists, buy a new PCI-E cable and make sure it is securely attached to the connector. The same thing happened to me and I solved it that way.
I think it depends per usecase, this is a nice preliminary fix if it works. unfortunately for me, my PCI-E cable was molded to my powersupply, so only way to change that was with changing my powersupply
this issue is occurring on my acer nitro 5 laptop rx 560 x the laptop works fine when running on vega 8 igpu but on rx560x it crashes when play games and sometimes it disappears
I bought everything new from internet to build my pc and since then I had the same problem as you, still dealing with it but now Im going to try to change the power supply maybe it works like yours =) thx bro
When my gpu gets under load, it crashes and the fans become super loud and my monitor goes black and shows no signal, is this the same? Edit: since a lot of people are asking how i got it fixed, please buy a new true rated bronze or up PSU, higher watts are needed for more power intensive GPU's, So if you're planning to upgrade a GPU please consider if your current PSU can handle the more power requirement. (i upgraded from 450w to 500w to power my RTX 2060)
I can start playing a game and then a buzzing noise comes from my gpu, and my monitor has no signal to it. When I reboot the computer everything is fine but the same thing happens when I start playing a game
Having the same problem try updating everything gpu drivers , cpu, motherboard, and windows another thing to check is your connected to the graphics card meaning which if the cables are loose and if you try to check it could possibly be your power supply that’s what I’m thinking for me aswell

Hi. So my problem is a weird one. I have a Asus GTX 1050 Ti and a PSU of Corsair VS 550. I think I had them both purchased around the same year in 2018 just a few months here and there. So everything is running fine all these years. A month back crashes started to occur. I even posted the crash dump file on Reddit to a user who checked it and said that a particular error code was displayed in the dump file that points to hardware defect of the GPU. After this incident my system was working fine up till now. Last week crashes started again. At first the screen immediately went black and reboot. After the reboot within a minute or two the screen froze for like 5 seconds and then went black. I had to manually force reboot. This time instead of showing windows the screen was split into two sections. The top section was blue, while the lower was black. I immediately force shutdown the system and replaced the GPU with a very old decade old GPU that I have. So far there are no crashes on this configuration since the time I am using it. I am also playing some old games on this for an hour or two and no crashes were observed. So is this a GPU issue or a PSU? I am totally confused in this regard.
Guys I fixed this problem it did cost me some money but only $13 what I did was I ordered new thermal paste and applied it to the cpu because the gpu fans don’t speed up to cool the gpu the gpu fans speed up to cool the cpu aswell so add some thermal paste to cpu but watch tutorial on how to do it so u dont fuck it up
same thing happened to me, think it's because a overheat or an driver not a PSU because mine are EVGA BR450 with just RX560 that draw only 80w.. but lemme ask this, if it cut off because the PSU.. are this could make my GPU died?
A faulty psu can destroy multiple components on you pc. Download 'core temp' and 'gpu-z' and check if the temps go close to 100 if they dont then it is not temperature problem. You can reinstall drivers or download old drivers. Check your gpu by using it on a friend's pc. You can check your ram by taking 1 stick out at time and seeing if the problem still happens. If all of these dont solve it then it is most likely power supply issue and you should change faulty psu immediately. There is not easy way to check if your psu is the problem but by removing all other variables it is easy to identify.
If there is weird noise coming from your gpu it is either gpu issue or the gpu is not getting the required power from the psu for some reason. Checking the gpu on another pc can easily show you which is the problem.
